Why not set aside some time (say 3-4 weeks) when you get back, and go off somewhere overseas. You / your Mrs might find travelling's not like you thought and forget it. Or you might love it and want to go for it big time.

Write a letter saying your not sure who was driving and ask to see the photo.

Travel is brilliant. Going for more than 8-12 months at a time can become a drag. I'd be tempted by the travelling.
