  1. There was a young fellow named Bates Who did a fandango on skates but he fell on his cutlass which rendered him nutless so practically useless on dates. There was a young lady from Spain who liked to be f****d now and again not just now and again but NOW and AGAIN and AGAIN. There was a young couple of New Delhi who found themselves stuck belly to belly because in their haste they'd used library paste instead of petroleum jelly. The limerick can produce laughs quite anatomical but the good ones I've seen so seldom are clean while the clean ones I've seen so seldom are comical
  2. Just found this http://www.ttzd.com/tech/turbotech.html
  3. Red Zed, maybe will change front end but in meantime will fit grille. Red? (Anodised Ally rather than painted steel) Silver? (Ditto) Chrome?
  4. I was thinking mebbe instead of rather than as well as . Now you are married do you really need a back seat?;)

  8. Hellfire!! That's a lot of money for so few miles done - yikes thricely. Probably best to keep the fuel low but not to run dry. Good idea from Jock if you don't have your own space. Mine's been off for 5 months but nearly ready. Partly my fault as I've had more done than originally thought. (And that is mostly down to this forum - seeing what I could do.......) All you can do is look forward to a time when this is behind you; like a visit to the dentist. Sheesh, I would sure hate to be a first-time buyer now. (Own property outright, smug, smug b)
  9. Hmmm, keep her. Put the car on axle stands and leave the handbrake off. Run the engine for a while once a week. Or can you drive a little bit? Not good to leave car on ground and unmoved for months. Are you taking full advantage of all the '0% for six months' CC deals that are available? - anything to keep interest charges down is worth doing. :( :(
  10. I did not notice it at the time but the file is too big. I'll zip it to see whether that'll make small enough. Otherwise, be happy to send it to anyone who wants copy.
  11. Useful info re Boost Control and BOV here http://www.turbosmart.com.au/boost_control_valves_gated.htm http://www.turbosmart.com.au/faq.htm
  12. Dear me, you old-fashioned thing. London has changed - smog has gone, it's true. If you like living in a skip, you'll like London. Put your Zed in storage, come over and see how long you last!!
  13. 'Liquid Gold' by Nielsen.
  14. AndyZ is the man to call for bits. Have a look underneath to see what's bent. Best on proper lift but if you need to crawl under buy/borrow axle stands. Do not, ever, trust to jack! Could you find a student of auto-engineering?
  15. The hicas system operates on back wheels and prob is ok. If front wheel is tilted, then yes you've some serious damage. Maybe transverse link and/or tension rod. Do search on 'Panasport' and you'll find plenty of info - use 'Google', the best search engine. Insurance claim?
  16. Click Search enter Buying Guide and you'll get plenty of refs. Is it private sale or dealer? You'll have some guarantee from a dealer. Speak to the previous owners. Ask to see her started from cold. Does the stick flap about in gear? Accelerate, take foot off; any horrible clunking? Any funny noises on hard L/R lock? Take the dip stick out and sniff it. Any funny coloured smoke from exhaust? Do you trust the guy selling it? etc atb Welcome back to the discerning group.
  20. Not tried it yet but I found this article: HOW TO MAKE A SHORT SHIFTER! Let's say you want a 2" shorter throw, take the shifter and cut it right where the pivot ball and the top half meet (right above the pivot ball), then take the top part you just cut off and cut 2" off that, put the little 2" piece aside you will need it later, then re-weld the shortened part of the shifter back on the pivot ball. Then take the shifter and cut just below the pivot ball...take the 2" piece the you cut off earlier and weld it to the pivot ball where you just cut off the bottom portion then re-weld the bottom portion to the 2" piece you just welded back on. Now what you should have done if you did it right is shortened the shifter above the pivot ball 2" and lengthened the shifter below the ball 2". Oh and FYI that is all a short shifter that you would buy for $100 is. They just make the top shorter and the bottom longer therefore changing the pivot point in turn shortening the throw.
