Japanese/UK tyres
front 18"x8" or 7.5" and 235 or 225 respectively, profile probably 45/50 rear 18"x9" as 8" is too mean (8.5" is std) then 255 - 275, profile 35-40. 17" would be cheaper; there will be tyre+wheel dealers near(ish) you in L.Spa. (btw I used to live in Long Itchington and Ettington b4 moving oop North.) Fit/stand some real wheels n'tyres on/by yr motor - see what looks right!

tyre help
235 tyre won't fit correctly on 10" rims as 10" = 254mm! You are likely to upset steering geometry beyond 235 front. 275 rear is fine and sits nicely on 10" - should help to stop your back braking away at roundabouts......

car ramps
That looks fine. Might nick that idea. Maybe you could add a couple of extra boards for the front and then a lower version for the back wheels so that the car does not tip so much. If you have access to the equipment you could chamfer the leading edges and perhaps rout a section in the boards to cut the weight down. Gluing with suitable adhesive, screws not needed. Oh for double garage and a proper lift.:(

Japanese/UK tyres
If the tyres are indeed the original then change 'em; they'll be a bit 'tired' (;) ) now. ('Though mebbe you'll never drive above 40 m.p.h., yeah, right!) The 5 stud must be on a pitch circle diameter of 114 mm and have the enough offset. At least 245 rear; 225 ok for front. 18" wheels look better - more, less tyre, but 18" tyres cost more. This site will let see how your choice of wheels looks on a Zed: http://www.tirerack.com/index.jsp

POP filter upgrade. Where can I buy from?
On the other hand, I found this comment: The more air you can get into the engine, the more potential horsepower to be gained, just like being able to flow more air on the exhaust side. But only to a point, Jim Wolf says the twin POP really isn't very beneficial until the engine is producing more than 600hp (flywheel) to take advantage of the extra airflow. So maybe the Apexi kit is well adequate.

car ramps
You could try asking at a technical college whether the metal working section would make you some for a small fee. Maybe you know a welder? Ad in local shop window?

car ramps
That was the price quoted when I called a motorists' shop in a local town. Good point about the danger of fouling bumper so maybe bespoke ramps are needed. Be bold, dig a hole and make a nice lined inspection pit:D

car ramps
Not really worth bothering to make your own when you can buy a 2 ton set for about £16 -£17.

what do you like about the zed?
Looks Power Handling Looks C'mon guys, there's practically bugger all that can touch the Zed. Mebbe a TVR, if it works. ha ha. Certainly nothing anywhere near the price.

An amplifier
Not looked into possibility of digital amps, tho' now you've suggested it I might! Would want to build my own, as I did with valve amps.

Treat your Zed to plenty of air with a twin intake from Smithy. :)

Mighty good spec! Yes but have digital tuner not yet quite finished. There's a Thorens TD 125 and Grace arm but I've abandoned my vinyl. There's a pair of transmission line speakers in the garage awaiting a new home. (40" high!)

How to impress....
How to impress a woman: Cuddle her, kiss her, caress her, stroke her, tease her, comfort her, protect her, hug her, hold her, wine and dine her, care for her, stand by her, support her. whisper endearments. How to impress a man: Show up nekkid, bring beer.

You might be a Redneck if.....
* Your bathroom deodorizer is a box of kitchen matches. * You think genitalia is an Italian airline. * You let your twelve-year-old daughter smoke at the dinner table in front of her kids. * You keep empty beer cans in your fridge for your friends that don't drink.

Redneck famlee plannin'
After having their 11th child, an Auburn, Alabama couple decided that they had enough kids. So, the husband and wife went to the doctor (who also treated mules) and told him that he and his wife/cousin didn't want to have any more children. The doctor told them that there was a procedure called a vasectomy that could fix the problem, but it was more expensive than they could afford. The doctor knew the family didn't have much money, so he proceeded to tell them about an alternate treatment. The doctor instructed the man to go home, get a cherry bomb (fireworks are legal in Alabama), light it, put it in a beer can, then hold the can up to his ear and count to 10. (A cherry bomb has an 8 second fuse). The Auburn man said to the doctor, "I may not be the smartest man, but I don't see how putting a cherry bomb in a beer can next to my ear is going to help me." The doctor told him that was the cheapest alternative he could think of, and the man was still not satisfied. So, the couple drove to Texas to get a second opinion. The Texas physician was just about to tell them about the procedure for a vasectomy when he noticed on the form that they were from Auburn.. (And the income range block on the form was filled in with the words "what's income.") So this doctor also proceeded to tell them about an alternate method of treatment. He told the man to go home and get a cherry bomb, light it, place it in a beer can, hold it to his ear and count to 10. Figuring that both learned physicians couldn't be wrong, the couple went home, stopping to buy a cherry bomb along the way. When he got home, the man lit a cherry bomb and put it in a beer can. He held the can up to his ear (remember a cherry bomb has an 8 second fuse) and began to count. "1, 2, 3, 4, 5," at which point he paused and placed the beer can between his legs and resumed counting on his other hand. Thus his problem was solved!

The analysis tool in Defrag will tell whether you need to run defrag. Let it run while you do something else, watching the little coloured blocks move about is of limited interest.
