Single Turbo conversion
Well after another day of head scratching, cutting and welding I think the turbo install is done!! I am happy with the route and think the clearence will be ok. The next job will be moving the rad forward and working out the front mount intercooler. I'll get the bumper off for that but it's also a chance to try the new on. As usual any feedback welcome or if you spot something I have overlooked which might be a problem.

I think the general opinion is if your seals are going fitting de-cats helps them along. If the seals are good then they should be ok.

Single Turbo conversion
After some research into exhaust manifolds the the result is collective is better than log manifolds - which means mine have gone in the bin and I'm starting again!! Still it was good practice and as such finished both manifold in about a 1 + 1/2 days and I'm much happier with them. I have also binned the route behind the engine and I am going frontwards where the turbo inlet and outlet hoses were on the drivers side. I should be about to get the turbo mounted in a rough position within the next few days. In the picture of the front of the engine you can see the ends of both manifolds, I tink there is enough clearence when the engine is in. The TB hoses and rad hoses will be re-routed. Pictures below, what do you guys think???

Vacuum Line
Will do, assume block the hose that runs to the box/solenoid thing- what ever the hell it's called:confused:?

Vacuum Line
- Vacuum Line
At the back of the engine bay on the drivers side there are loads of vacuum lines going to two small square boxes which the loom plug into. One runs to a metal pipe on the plenum on the underside (near the brake cylinder) which then comes out at the back of the plenum near the coolant line for the turbo. Anyone one know what it does?- Single Turbo conversion
I know what you mean, it is rather hard to measure the clearence on the car. So if anyone has a car with the plenum off can they drop me line as perhaps they could do some measuring . . . . .- Tea vs Dinner vs Supper Debate!!
What ever it's called shouldn't you be in the kitchen making it! :D- Single Turbo conversion
I have trimmed the water pipes down about 25-30mm and it's made a big difference, I will post some pics in the next few days. I am hoping to finish the the other exhaust manifold this week but may change the other one slightly as one port doesn't look angled enough for good flow? Again pics to follow. Then they are off to Janspeed to be copied although I might site the turbo first as I'm not sure how long they will take.- Anyone in S Wales changed a clutch before??
I assume you wouldn't have a problem with the original fly, I'm not sure how long it will take. See if you can find a how to guide on here and I'll have a look. Going to check for air leaks, change coil packs and injectors as I still have the 02 issue:rant:- Anyone in S Wales changed a clutch before??
When you looking at doing mate, I might be able to lend a hand inbetween my project!! Also might have found 2 possible sprayers for your car!- realating to project 1 single turbo ??
Will do, should have another update by the weekend after a few days of buring myself with weld!!!. Trying to sort the intercooler/cometic gasket and rods this week as well!! - Vacuum Line
