  5. work in progress: have had the car up to the paint shop to have VS front bumper & side skirts fitted, while it was up there i took the chance to remove the headlights & fit some LED's in them as these will now be my side lights.... what do you think?????
  6. thats not DIY thats FIY you can guess what the F is for!!!!!
  7. well thought it was about time ...seeing the car was getting all my money throw at it this site will be very helpfull in saving me some i hope!.... lol....
  8. hi mate, yeah 2 reasons i cant make it: 1, car is not ready yet! 2, girlfriend is moving house that day (guess who's doing the all the lumping around???) the car should of been ready but they cant get a match on the paint ...it pearl white but not the original pear white & we have no paint code!! the sent the filler cap off to HEX for a match but what came back was nothing like it!!! so am no waiting till the 18th of may when i going back in to be fully re-sprayed!!! in a nice crisp bright pearl white (daewoo colour)...so fingers crossed for run to the sun!!! is yours done yet?
  9. love the sill plates & the rear quaters! has anyone got these on here????
  10. yeah ok, you will have to re do the timming after obviously! ...but apart from that its straight forward, there are 4 nuts on each cam sprocket to undo, then give them a litlle tap & they might pull off easier but whatever you do dont use the front out ring with a pulling tool..( i did this & pulled the outer ring off!!!!!)
  11. hi to all have been posting on here for a while but have now just paid to be a fuly subbed member!! hope to get even more good out of the forum, cheers ytsweazel aka westley..... lol
  12. crank sprocket (ie. the one at the bottom) or do you mean cam sprokets the 4 at the top?
  13. the pulsar for me!!! shame it was a common black one... love them in red(like i had) & white look cool too, such an understated car & rare!
  14. the best one to go for is the ZYMOL one its about £25 quid & does a great job! i have tried cheaper ones & one of them actually scratched the paintwork!!! so be carefull ...you get what you pay for...but i wouldnt spend more than £25 on them!
  15. have you googled DOTZ alloys? the do some very nice wheels & i know a site that does them cheap if u see any you like?
  16. is it an auto??? if so there will be 4x bolts to undo on the torqu converter inside the bell housing accessed by removing the starter motor!!!
  17. i think u will find you have to maintain the car eg brakes etc! but if your son thinks it was working fine the first time around he could be right!! as its common on french & other cars for the hand breaks to fail after being applied after a drive, what happens is the breaks are warm & expanded so the hand break works when u pull up outside your house then after 20 mins or so the brakes cool down & shrink back thus leaving the hand break loose!!!
  18. i love red & white combo.. my mate has a red scooby with white tarmac alloys..looks the nutz..
  19. well as far as injector connectors go you can do a very cheap conversion just like dannzx did & i'm going to do! pop to your local scrap yard and check out the ford KA's etc the plugs fit all you have to do is shave the center lug off the injector!!! other wise they are about £8.50 each!!!
  20. sounds flooded to me! don't take much & It won't start at all, How to un-flood the engine: under bonnet in front of driver is a fuse box! as you look at it from the front of car, the far right hand fuse (fuel pump) needs to be pulled out! then with the fuse pulled out, turn the engine over for a count of 10 seconds! replace the fuse hey presto not flooded anymore! ..hope this helps...
  21. i'm a fan too ;-)
  22. lol nobody would be stupid enough to do all of that surely?????? .....:nono::nelson:...this is when you find out the horse box has an aluminium chasis..lol
