Hi Guys, Just a quick question what is the best way to re torque the 27mm lower pulley bolt. Is it best to put the car in gear and hold it on the brakes or jam the fly wheel ring gear ?

I used Tiger seal on mine.

The threaded part of the gear knob is steel. A mate of mine had the same trouble it to turned out ot have been thread locked on. He was doing a gear box swap so the stick was removed anyway, so it was vice & stilsons time. When you do get it off and you come to fit your new one if it wont tighten up in the right place use PTFE tape it worked for me.

Yes Mate thats right. was looking at it earlier not sure if I can get the valve out though. Looks like the heater pipes might be in the way topside and doesnt look like it will clear the bell housing from below !

can the EGR be removed with both the engine & box in situ but with the plenum removed ? Got the plenum off at the mo and was wondering if it was poss to remove EGR at this stage.

No not there. looking through the steering wheel oposite side to the indicator stalk. The hicas lights I think are on there.

A mate of mine had the same trouble. Got the thing off in the end with a pair of grips but trashed the gear knob itself. Turned out some clown had thread locked it on !

I have a round fog light switch mounted on the outer instument bezel on the left hand side next to the idiot lights it just about fits. My alarm light is fitted on the cruize control blank.

Was a heated seat option not available on J-Spec cars ?

I bought mine from MJP a couple of years ago, He was able to supply new bolts as well.
