Or John, some people have just been damn right unlucky, I got my Zed checked out by Geoff from Zedworld, and the problems that I have had, ie. Blown turbos, knackered clutch bands could nto have been detected upon test driving.......I agree, if they were on their way out then I would have noticed, but I diddnt drive the car stoopidly hard and over a few months and 1500 miles they went!!!! Just bad luck......and perhaps the previous owner abused it.....said he diddn tthough!! :o :nelson:

Very unreliable in my experience, love it to bits though, echoing other members, when it runs sweet theres nothing better but I dont think I'll ever be able to trust the car, but this is what I have come to expect though! Rough with the smooth and all that!

Yeah, Jeff is the only person that I really trust, he knows the car better than anyone else and he's always willing to help out, even at 11 at night!!!! Is that where u take yours?

Yeah thats it. The names ring a bell but I dont know them personally mate, who r they? Other local Zed owners?!? I got mine in about March 2003 and had nothing, and I mean nothing but problems since. Still fricking love it though and if that make s me an idiot, so be it. You have no idea how many time I have heard from my friends and family - 'SELL IT'!!!! Not a chance!!!!

You live on errrm, damn cant remember then name of the road but me mate pete lives just around the corner from you, and thats where I store the Zed as he has a decent driveway. It a UK car as the insurance on a J- Spec was just far too high, silly really as there more or less the same car. So how long u had your zed? :)

I have had my car for coming up to a year and I have also over 300 psts on here but I still dont know what half these abbreviations mean. TPS = ? AFM = (Guess) Air Flow Meter Any more?!?!?!!? :nelson:

Mike, Do you own your own garage or are you a mechanic or something? I like to think I understand the basics of how a car runs, hell, I could rebuild an old CVH lump but I understand these arnt as straightforward as that. Just interested to see if ur a normal Joe with a decent garage having a go!

No Tom, not like that. My CD player diddnt work so I ripped the tape and CD player out and fitted an aftermarket Kenwood Tape Head Unit and 6-disc in the boot. You'll pick up a decent one of Ebay for £150, treat yourself!

**UPDATE** Well I have been up to see the car. Filled with antifreeze (I need shares in an anti-freeze company) and turned the car over, very rough smell to start with but then seems fine????????? Sounds good, although I am sure I can hear something but then I guess were all more paranoid at times like this. The water level does keep on going down and the water keeps turning murky which is all that orange stuff I guess that builds up when your car overheats. I diddnt drive the car as I dont want to cause any further damage just in case so I will still trailer it up to Zedworld and let Geof carry otu some checks, compressions test etc etc.......... I wonder if this may be my turning point on luck, did I get away with it???

Well I am nto sure what damage has been done, it is goign to Jeffs as soon as change my AA membership over to Relay rather than just roadside. Cant really think what it could have done, Jeff mentioned something about vlalve seats dropping out and that would cause it to misfire which is what it does sound like. I am gonna go to the car (round my friends) today and fill her up and see if I get any smoke out of the exhausts, what noises the engine makes etc. I dont think its seized, as when I got it round my friends, it did turn as normal, and when my old escort siezed, that wouldnt turn at all.... Could the bottom end be damaged by this? Not massively bothered about the heads, as my brother can pressure test the heads and also skim them for me and I am sure heads dont cost £1000's?!? My old rover one was only £350 fully rebuilt... Even whent he car is sorted, it is going to take ages to rebuild my confidence again in it, why is it so unreliable?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused:

All, Well, I aint gonna go on about the amount of problems I have had as you all probably are bored of that, me too!!!! Now, remember I went on about losing water, well, last night I was drivign from Grantham to Melton, about 15 miles and when I got into Melton the car wouldnt change gear and then stalled. I stopped, noticed lots of smoke from the bonnet so I popped it and loads of smoke bellowed out. The car had finalyl decided to drop all the water and the car has overheated, and cus I was drivign at about 70mph and had my stereo on I couldnt hear anything prior to getting to Melton. The car then wouldnt start and sounded very poorly, slow turning... The AA man towed me home and then I tried to start her and with a bit of help, throttle, she started, doesnt sound very good and would just like to hear from other owners as to what u think, damage wise, the heating has PROBABLY caused????????????????? Still smiling though, I love this car but I beginning to thing she doesnt love me!!! Ah well, she walks all over me anyway!!! :) ADVICE PLEASE GUYS.......OR EXPERIENCES??

I have both, xbox and ps2. Xbox is better, not alot in it but the DVD playback on the PS2 isnt as good as the Xbox. Project gotham 2 is S**T, get Need for Speed underground, it is the Japanese Car enthusiasts essential car game and is also the boll*x!!!:D

By the way I am not the arguing Mark Stevens I am another one.......:) And just like to say sometimes we can be having a bad time at work ro home and we take things more personally than we mean too, I have done this many times. To solve the speed bump thing, a nice bit of ally plating ont he front lower part would look OK and double up as a great way to save your bumper!!;)

:shock: FnCK!!!! How sh1t hot is that?!??! Well, car is gonna be sprayed int he summer and also want a nice bodykit to go on, I think I just found it!!! Really does bring the zed back in front for looks once again!!!! Hat off to the designers, do we know where it came from originally?:confused:
