  1. I suppose joely, but i could say i bought it like that, none the wiser, unless the officer knows Zeds like the back of his hand he will be none the wiser either. Im warming to that motorized flip away thing now, have it work off the ignition so when its parked up its away :) When i take nice photos of my cars i always take the plates off, changes the appearance no end. Ive still got side mounts so i could cover the smiley part i suppose
  2. what are you gonna do groover?
  3. Not if the holes in the number plate have been filled in :D Do new bumpers, 99 spec ones come with holes in?
  4. At least you fought your case, most people probably would have just paid the fine, me included. http://www.craigsplates.com/import-number-plates Ive found this site, good info.
  5. Oh i read that wrong. So i can have a jap plate and it has to be on the front of the car. Ill need to print off the regulation to keep in the glovebox. What was the supposed offence?
  6. Cheers pbryant_knight just what i needed. So im within the law if i stick a motorcycle sized plate in my window. Feels like that would be pushing it :D
  7. good idea. Ive just looked over the legislations, i cant see anywhere that says its an offence not to have it on the front, only that if it is not legible, altered or visible. You know if the police pulled me and i said that they would do me for an attitude problem
  8. Yeah it came with a big metal bracket, i thought it was something put on at the docks or something. Why did nissan design such a nice car then do that.
  9. Cheers osty, ill have a look now
  10. I wont win will I. Think ill go talk to my MOTer tomorrow, see if theres anything i can do. That motorbike size sounds good, if its legal for one road vehicle it should be for another
  11. can i put a smaller one under the original place then, in the open mouth part. Still ruins the style of the car though
  12. My excuse if i did get pulled would be, i have no mountings on the front of my car, i dont want to cut my bumper up to fit it, you still saw it, whats the problem, im fully legal tax, insurance, mot.
  13. Haha, thats wicked, where do you get your internet content joely :D
  14. Good to know, i might look into a stick on one
  15. 'Optic Zebra Pony Skin Velboa' what ponies look like that, plus its outta stock. the funny thing is i live walking distance from whipsnade zoo
  16. Well i was gonna do the whole interior, but i cant find the material, so thats saved it
  17. I should have explained, im a poor student, and ive spent all my money buying and insuring the car ;) Plus i think it adds a personal touch if i made it, i was thinking of wraping it in zebra print vinyl anyway, i assume its not to most of the forum members tastes :D
  18. It just seems stupid, numberplate ruin the styling of a car completely, there should be no reason why you cant put it in the window. What about the stick on ones you see on mx5's are they legal?
  19. Oh thats the actual one, ok. No wonder it looks professional :D
  20. Hi guys, i was wondering if anyone knew if the way i have my number plate is illegal. I wanted to fill the holes that were butchered into my bumper and respray it Ive seen cars with it but i always thought they were just waiting to get pulled over. I dont see the problem as its still on show and can still be easily read. Thanks Mark
  21. Thats the idea i had tudor, maybe cutting a more elipsed hole to fit them in at an angle. Did you make that piece yourself joely p? Looks like nice quality.
  22. Yeah thats what im counting on really, I was just gonna dob a bit of silicone behind the bezel or some ptfe tape near the rim.
  23. Yeah ill create the geometry in cad, give it a very slight tolerance of .25mm or something, trial and error with mdf first i think. Even if i create some complicated geometry i can test it on the computer first. I wanted the outer bezel of the gauges on the outside of the plate. I havn't decided what gauges im going for yet. wont be anything fancy, as long as it does the job
