Sounds like tappets to me, but im new to these engines. Ive had a look on youtube, and i can only fear the worst, its similar to all the engne knocks on there. Someone please tell me its not. View My Video This is a cold start by the way and it was not doing it yesterday. And I barely drive it hard as i cant afford the petrol.

thats good then, i saw lots of adjustable stuff and thought i might need it all, good news though.

Im looking to lower my car aswell, ive got those arms on the list and the rear ones aswell, and obviously some springs, but do i need all the adjustable torsion bars for the back, ive seen them for sale also?

Oh i forgot to say that yeah, you can turbo and supercharge easily, stock internals, theres one on youtube, s2000 from hell or something like that killing superbikes on stock internals, to me that is very impressive.

My friend has got an S2000, we test drove one when he had his skyline gtst33, he wanted it imediately. So he went and bought one for £8K and loved it, until i took him out in a turbocharged car again, hes now looking towards s15's and rx7's Basically the car was mint and never ever broke, amazingly reliable, but as already said, you will miss turbo power :D

I thought it was the lot, fittings and all. For that price id expect them to put it on for me aswell :)

thats handy, when i give it an oil change i might whip that off, i take it its straight forward enough.

i went to nissan the other day to check prices for those, upwards of 500 for all of them!

I got it from a lad in aylesbury called sam, he got it off his mates dad who imported it himself.

Ok, so i shouldnt get so worried just yet, it passed the emissions test so well it would have passed a cat test, is that proof that its running properly or not. Or would that tell sod all? :D

Damn, ok thanks. guess ill just have to take their word for it. just out of interest what can the standard stuff handle, its still got the original side mounts aswell.

Evening. is there any way of checking if ive got forged pistons without taking the heads off or running the engine till destruction? And is there any way of checking if the turbos are uprated, or in good health again without taking them off and physically looking? I only ask as the car i bought has a claimed 400hp, i have no doubt its running high power, i just want to know its running it healthy. Any help appreciated. Mark

I would have said it had less than 5mm play in it, was literally a little bop up and down, he said it was shot, hardly! Its got no play in it now whatsoever, but if he even tries to fail it again ill appeal the mot, ill print out that info and take it along aswell. Cheers willie

I did take them all apart yesterday to see what needed attention ( i should have taken pictures really) It was a rediculously small amount of play that he failed me for. There is a thick rod with a flange on it (technical term) that goes through a hard nylon looking bush. It had up and down movement. I asked at nissan today how much they were, you cant buy individual bearing/bushes and you have to buy the whole arm at £219 each!! Me and my dad put chemical metal down them to fill in any play/gaps. Put it all back together went for a test ride, no play atall. Suck that mr mot man :D

Its not, I took it all apart today to get my head round the problem. Looks like i can get individual bushes for the ends. can i? Thank

Hi guys, the car just failed on the passenger side upper link having vast amounts of play in it. Ive just had a quick look for them on ebay and europarts (i know its not euro but it said on the back of their van any part for any car :D) and i cant find any basically. All i can find is adjustable things at around £150 a pair. Does anyone know where to get these from? Thanks Mark

Some good ideas. I like the idea of more than one switch hidden somewhere. I would imagine that would be very frustrating for a thief :D In the Renault 5 it was common to take the fuel pump relay out to stop people starting it. But that was easy to get to on them.

Im only skint at the moment as ive shelled out alot for the car. Ill be level again in a month or 2. Ill be looking for an alarm system then. Until then i heard about a magnetic switch. I thought i could tap into the ignition wire and use one of those, Hiding the magnet somewhere on the car. Thats bad phoenix. My when my dad was looking at subarus he couldnt get insured unless he got a tracker for that exact reason.

Money is so tight at the moment, i still have to pay off the car, i intend to get something fitted, just for the meantime. Is it worth getting a steering wheel cover or something?

Hi, im not trying to get info on breaking into a zed i assure you, but im a bit paranoid that its going to get broken into or nicked for a joy ride or something. Are they secure atall? Do they have an immobiliser? What is the nissan anti theft system? On previous cars ive had a detachable steering wheel, but this has got the functions on it i dont want to lose. Mark

Z center is where i found it, £90 for the both, is this just the beginning of nissan tax? My friend had a skyline and was always getting skyline tax on parts.
