Help! Data Recovery!
Was it successful for you bud? It is FAT formatted so fingers crossed! As I mentioned, my mate is in a similar position to you in that he has experience with failed HDDs so is going to try and help out. MY first post was a bit of a panic post! lol

Help! Data Recovery!
I'd dont use any of WD's software. Just plug and play usually. Have had a look through a few step guides to get it working again but nothing has worked so far. Think best bet now is to try on my mate's PC with data recovery software....

London meets
Stanstead is a bit far for me mate...Ace Cafe is marginally closer though. Don't organise anything off the back of my question though - just wondered where and when London meets were happening. I used to go to the Reading Jap car meet in the Madjeski Stadium car park when I first bought the car ( I lived in Reading then) and quite enjoyed it! Have since been to a meets in Surrey at the Dyno and had a great time! Just been a while since I met any of you is all...

Help! Data Recovery!
Cheers for all the replies guys, much appreciated! I had already connected it 'directly' using a SATA docking station and got the same results. This included using new USB and power cables so the original housing and cables have been eliminated from the puzzle. I did however try connecting the docking station to my mates Mac (running an older Osx) and alhtouh it had the same results, on his machine I had the option to 'verify' or 'repair' the disk. I chose to verify first which directed me to repair. on doing this, it seemed to repair one issue byt then prompted me to back up my data as the Disk Utility could not repair the disk. Unfortunately I don't have a PC anymore and I don't want to fork out a small fortune for a data recovery service. A mate has a PC and has some personal experience in recovering data from knackered HDDs so I'm going to let him have a go at it... Fingers crossed!!

Help! Data Recovery!
Anyone know anything about data recovery from a 500GB WD My Book? Died whilst transferring files onto it and now Mac won't recognise it. Tried removing the HDD and using a SATA docking station but same result. No other backups so need to save this!! Before dismantling it and trying the docking station, I did cool it, use different cables, restart bioth it and my mac and no joy. The lights come on, it makes noise, etc and I see it in Disk Utility but it won't 'mount'. I read that the USB port on the case is a common fail on these so tried the docking station but am getting the same results. It's still being recognised by the Mac but just not 'mounting' so not sure if the disk is kaput or not. I only used it to back up all my data so it hasn't been used that much but also has EVERYTHING on it! Can anyone help??

Moving out of the way for emergency vehicles
Nope, wouldn't do it myself. I back you 100%. I know it sounds bad but I'd be the one paying for the damage to the car...not the emergency services and not the poor person that's going to be in the back of the ambulance! The whole point of getting 'out of the way' is to do so safely. Unless I'm mistaken, under no circumstances is it 'safe' for a vehicle to mount the pavement....

San Fermin 2013 - The Running of the Bulls
I did this 2yrs ago! You'll have an AWESOME time! One of the best trips of my life by a long way! I'd recommend you don't run on your first day there...try and get to a good vantage point and watch them on the first day, then run on your second. I actually spectated from the spot I Wanted to run from and timed how long it took the bulls to get there so on the 2nd day I knew how long before I had to start running! Chances are you won't see the bulls before you start running...just a wall of people charging at you! REmember that most of the injuries come from being pushed and trampled by other people! Also, if you want to end up in the ring then start on the last 1/2 mile straight. Get there nice and early and filter down to your start position. I was there around 5.30am to get to my spot. I got into the ring which is where the REAL fun starts as they close the doors on you with all the bulls in there an you spend an hour or so trying not to get gored! haha...great fun!! Good luck bud! And enjoy the party...literally 24hrs partying!! I'm SO jealous right now!!

Just wanted to express my thanks and gratitude to Vijay for spending a large part of this warm, sunny day helping me to run diagnostics and a boost leak test (we found some leaks)!! Such a friendly and helpful guy, much like all the other members I've had the pleasure of meeting in person over the years! Really is one of the added bonuses of owning a Zed I think! GT-R Pistonheads
LOL....it's the bodykit that I liked! Though I do admit the front end looks a bit OTT. Not sure I like those halogens/LEDs(??) in the front grill!

GT-R Pistonheads
Really quite liking this! http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/nissan/gt-r/59-plate-gtr-black-edition--600bhp/1480497 Think the GTRs look amazing but find the interiors really 'upright' and boring! Just doesn't compete with the rest of the class for me...
