  1. It's great that we're all human with brains capable of free-thinking and not just machines where we only know what we are taught. This way we can't just blame parents/schools for all of society's failings! (sarcasm) I disagree with you that it's all the fault of parents/schools. They have a very important part to play but not as important as the individual IMO.
  2. I'm also in agreement with Jamie - but it was maybe explained best on the news tonight where one of the interviewees described it as the European immigrants (who Jamie was actually comparing the British youth to) were more often closer the the bread line than their British counterparts (and by bread line I believe he meant the one where they can't afford rent or to eat, not where they can't afford the latest PS3 game or a pair of Nikes which seems to the official measure in this country for 'poverty'). The reasoning this person gave was that the British youth have a safety net of benefits / mum and dad / live at home with the folks / etc so are more inclined to be work shy as it's not a matter of not eating if they don't. I don't think his comments have anything to do with education or grades. It's simply about putting in the effort and getting back the rewards.
  3. A bit of a slow post but got my parts just before the weekend! Thanks Jerrick! Can't wait to get these fitted! Also got the Driftworks HICAS kit which arrived today. A bit multi-coloured but hey ho!
  4. That's the hope! Not been up that way for a while so be good to see you both! Will drop you a message on FB with more details once I have them.
  5. Would have been up for this but got plans that weekend already ;-( Hoping to pop up to Bristol in the next few weeks Si so will have to catch up with you then!
  6. It's here mate....
  7. ZetaR with Cyberspeed front and rear camber arms, rear traction rods and front tension rods. I've already got Stillen ARBs fitted...
  8. Yea, the driftworks kit does seem to be the kit of choice but I'm still in two minds about whether it's even needed. Agreed it would mean less stuff to go wrong but is that the only argument for eliminating HICAS? If that was the case there's an argument of getting rid of the Zed altogether! LOL
  9. Would you have eliminated the HICAS if the ball joint hadn't gone? I'm trying to decide whether I should eliminate it at all as I've not had any issues with it and I don't track the car. I'm thinking to maybe just get new toe rods in there and leave the HICAS in place....hence the questions.
  10. No one fitted HICAS elimination kits that would recommend them then?
  11. I've just bought the MeisterR coilovers with front and rear camber arms, rear traction rods and front tension rods. Was planning to get the HICAS elimination as well but wondering whether I really need to and what the difference is between all the ones out there?? http://www.driftworks.com/driftworks-total-hicas-eliminator-kit-for-nissan.html http://www.zcentre.co.uk/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.pbv.tpl&product_id=236&Itemid=7 http://www.z1motorsports.com/product_info.php?products_id=1847 From the descriptions, they all appear to do the same thing but are very different in pricing.
  12. I could be interested too but depends on dates and location, etc....but in principle, I'm in!
  13. Happy Birthday dude!!!
  14. Lol...one of my other good mates bought a v10 R8 about a month ago! If only they'd all listened to me and just bought a Zed! haha
  15. Yea, complete fluke! lol. I didn't think to take many photos as was so focused on the taking vids instead. But thanks :) His V8 was an awesome sound to it...and all the way through the rev range too which I was a little jealous of. He put me to shame somewhat on the occasion we'd be driving through a tunnel/quiet village! lol...
  16. I agree with you Lexx but only because the Aston was a 'point and shoot' drive versus the Zed. But I wouldn't have a 2seater/coupe as an everyday car. For both my mate and I, these cars are weekend toys.
  17. Jaffa - hoping to do so very soon! I've been very bad in not getting the engine mapped since my Jimmer rebuild a few years ago. In the process of fixing some boost leaks but will be getting up to Noel asap!
  18. I had a great weekend rekindling a bromance with my best mate from uni this weekend. Crazy how time flies and people grow up! But to the point of this thread - he came to visit with his new Aston Martin Vantage S so we decided to spend most of Saturday exploring the B roads of Surrey in a 'sprightly' fashion! He's running 430bhp with a 4.2L V8. Considering I'm running stock boost and don't have the benefit of traction control and a flappy paddle gearbox I was genuinely amazed at how well the Zed kept up with the Aston. Don't misunderstand me, the Aston was faster but he had to push it pretty damned hard to get any real distance between us! I was lucky enough that he let me drive the Aston too at the end of the day and I'm surprised to say that I got out feeling very happy that I have my Zed! Yes the back end gets a bit happy around corners, the steering was comparatively much lighter than the Aston and there's turbo lag but boy is it so much more of an engaging drive than the Aston! I was slightly worried that I'd be left yearning for a more prestigious car after his visit but I'm only more enamoured with the Zed. I just need to finish the suspension work and hopefully completely revamp the interior next year and I think I'll be a very happy boy! I took my Go Pro out as well so have a lot of footage to review and edit together but here's a few pics from the day. I know I'm biased but I think the Zed puts up some good competition in the looks department to the Aston!!
  19. Thanks for the replies guys! Some good advice! Now for a spare day to give it a go!
  20. Yea, I'm not so keen on the polished look to be honest. I'm sure there were quite a few variants floating around a while back though....shame I can't find them now!
  21. My left 02 sensor needs replacing. I've not done this before and I understand I may need special tools to do it? Are there any good writeups on how to do this and what tools I'll need? Otherwise, does anyone have the tools already and willing to lend them to me? Promise to send them back asap! Cheers Vig
  22. Where would one go to find some of these? The best pipes I've seen are the black powdercoated ones from Z1. There must be more out there??
