  1. Great stuff matey, shame to give up now. I know its easy to say 'take it to someone who knows these cars' but truly consider this. You could end up chasing rainbows with trying to fault diagnose a potential signal problem. I has a similar issue years ago; and after changing and swapping costly (known working) components, taking/shipping the car to a then "300zx specialist" (not trading on here for many years now, and not to be confused with the reputable few 300 mechanics), £2500 later the fault was still there. I learnt my lesson the hard way and to think it was a single 1mm wire with a partial break! Once the mechanical side is sorted, it will give you back your mojo to crack on with the paint; 15 years plus later, i'm still here!
  2. Great stuff Paul, it will be good to catch up with you. I'll give the thread a week or two and then start the pass request, either individuals or club stand.
  3. Smack bang in the middle of the holiday season I know; however this looks like another one of those shows similar to Classic and Sports cars by the lake only a little bit bigger and a whole month before. http://www.helmingham.com/events/the-festival-of-classic-sports-cars/ Looks like an absolutely lovely location, just north of Ipswich. Option to apply for a club stand or individual passes. I would very much like us to have a stand and fly the club banner! I'm back from the States from the end of June so would be great to get the Zed out and at a show or two. Let me know your thoughts and I'll get the ball rolling. All the best, Tony.
  4. No wonder the Zed helped save Nissans reputation and global market, the designer of that monstrosity deserves to work for Austin!
  5. Images of the rear of the engine and the 2 coolant hard pipes.
  6. They are both for the cabin heater matrix matey They can be removed at the flange, 2 bolts each. The picture, although not the best shows you the location.
  7. That's definitely me on top, if you know what I mean!! Brilliant! And no, I don't wear tight white Y-fronts neither do I play volleyball, topless!
  8. Haha, love it Chris, yeah something like that. I take pride in knowing we may be a small island, however we still have the best Armed Forces in the world. These guys are something else, I tell you.
  9. If I'm not playing silly buggers with the US Marine Corps, I'll be there flying the flag again. Great turn out last year for the area. Let me know if you are going to or have arranged a club stand matey before I contact Karen. Nice one all, great support for a local charity.
  10. How about this little OEM + ashtray modification mate. Should be ok to pick up sound :innocent:
  11. OEM+..............Modified! Next you'll be putting stickers on her. Hide it you OEM nut!
  12. Very nice Si, I wouldn't expect anything less!
  13. Pigs in blankets and cylinder heads...........now that's my kind of Christmas!
  14. Nice one mate, but you're still wrong about the sprouts lol. I also have to fly and work from Fort Worth, Texas. I haven't seen one Zed whilst working in the States, maybe I'll see one soon. All the best and safe travels.
  15. I share all your concerns Si, however I draw the line at the 'sprouts'! I just wouldn't be Christmas without them. I'm on leave for Christmas, for two weeks! First time in 18 years that Her Majesty hasn't encroached over the festive period, then back out to do more Carrier trials in Florida. In the meantime, I have brought yet another Nissan to modify. Well it's not truly a Nissan, it shares its DNA with a Renault and Vauxhall. I'm turning an old Primastar into a Campervan; so this 2 weeks will be full of cabinet making and carpet fitting. Happy Chrimbo!!
  16. When I said to my missus many years ago, that I fancy taking the Zed on a monster of a road trip around Europe for our honeymoon, I thought she'd say f#?! Off!!! Instead she said 'let's do it' and so the the love of my life and the wife went on a 4 week trek across Europe, stayed in lovely hotels, got loads of attention and so she also fell in love with the Zed. Fast forward a few years and like many of us, my car bit me in the arse when she blew a turbo and had an intermittent electrical fault. 'That's it' I said, 'time for a change, I can't be doing with this; I could be driving a new marque with the amount of money that I've spent on this'!!!! That's when my missus said 'You dare, that's our honeymoon car, you have to keep it.......forever'! And there you have it, I wouldn't change either of them for the world! Errr, maybe one of them......and it doesn't need an MOT!
  17. Only just seen this, great adventure apart from the end. I agree that a Zedball rally, European road trip would be great!
  18. Thanks for sharing buddy, some great photos there of the Zeds on the Pass with the fantastic scenery. Although I've not been back that long from my European jaunt, your pictures have made me look forward to next year's holiday rally.
  19. Yes, almost every colour is available in both single a 2K especially if you know the paint code. Problems start however if the paint you are trying to match was originally custom, e.g. mixed/made straight from a paint rack. For flat colours the original paint tints that were used to mix and establish the colour can be determined by a Spectrum analyser; good paint shops will have these. Metallic paint can get trickier as it is harder to match the quantity of metal flake used.
  20. Just sheared my lower drivers side brake pipe. It's the one that directly connects to the calliper from the suspension leg bracket. Thanks
  21. Me too buddy, I'm back in the area; if you need a hand give me a shout and I'll pop over with a few parts and a Fluke etc.
  22. Great effort with the other signs, apart from the Supercar tent, we certainly looked the part and surpassed the other stands!!! Actually, the £3M tent didn't have any signs/banners, so we were the best!
  23. Looks like a good one bud, I'm in!! Lets see if we can drum up some interest. Is this the one you were talking about at the show?
  24. Hey up Joel, no worries mate. I got your message and shared it with the lads; thanks for letting us know bud. Hope you had a good holiday, maybe see you at a meet soon.
