My van is up for renewal, I've done a fair few miles over the last few years in it spending, on average 5 hours a day in it. We've been across Europe through France, Belgium and Holland and the length and breadth of the UK. Yeah il be sad to see it go in a way but I won't miss it. I've always assumed it was the time you spent in a car that made you have a bond with it. I know il never forget watching my Capri drive away. It's a hole that regardless of having the Z for nearly twice as long and having invested more time that bond isn't as strong if I'm honest. The car felt like an old friend every time I got in it.

So what makes the bond and which car do you or would you miss most?

The same. I've been fond of a few cars before but none like my Z32. It's brought me far far more than the shits and giggles of driving it. It does feel like a friend and it always puts a smile on my face.

I've owned it during some of the toughest times of my life to some of the absolute best and because that, I could never sell it. I've forged some amazing friendships because of the network base that surrounds this car from all over the world.

It's more than just a car, it's a lifestyle...and more.

Both of these cars I regret selling. The clio was an amazing bit of kit and my relationship with it and with the owners club was amazing. Balance, handling and poise. Was truly epic. Having it from brand new made it even more special 50,000 miles of pure bliss. Loved it

The xsara was my baby for a while, saved from a field, rebuilt and then destroyed into a parts car by the next owner. Had a development body kit worth about £20,000. Loved the owners club, the liquid yellow paint, the noise, the events and how damn wide it was...not that fast but totally awesome (to me). Regret selling both.

When I said to my missus many years ago, that I fancy taking the Zed on a monster of a road trip around Europe for our honeymoon, I thought she'd say f#?! Off!!! Instead she said 'let's do it' and so the the love of my life and the wife went on a 4 week trek across Europe, stayed in lovely hotels, got loads of attention and so she also fell in love with the Zed.

Fast forward a few years and like many of us, my car bit me in the arse when she blew a turbo and had an intermittent electrical fault. 'That's it' I said, 'time for a change, I can't be doing with this; I could be driving a new marque with the amount of money that I've spent on this'!!!!

That's when my missus said 'You dare, that's our honeymoon car, you have to keep it.......forever'! And there you have it, I wouldn't change either of them for the world!

Errr, maybe one of them......and it doesn't need an MOT!

Yep...my day to day cars come and go,I've had some nice cars (aren't I lucky) 911 turbos, super charged jags and now C63's,but the zed I love and lucky for it! It's here to stay,I just love it.

I'm not sure how many know this, but years ago I sold my zed:( but I hunted the guy down I sold it to,and with a lot persuasion I bought bought it back....and for a lot more than I sold it for lol

And the people I've met after owning the zed..they are all great people:)

Although this car got me a lot of chick action....before crashing it in 2005 into 2 rather large oak trees.... Loved the attention and the way it made me feel when I floored it with the roof off. The induction kit sounded epic....Loved it.

Yup - I agree Si....

......I was sad when my friend drove away my last SLK350 to sell on my behalf, a few weeks ago. I loved that car - it was one of the best I'd ever owned, but the very next day I collected my AMG and suddenly the old 350 was a distant memory..... However the Zed has something most modern cars do not possess, a heart and soul. Every time I drive it, it makes me smile - I may have had a hellish day, but shut the door of the Zed and the feel, sound and smell make the bad things melt away. Then there's the looks you get from other drivers and passing pedestrians. Anybody really; the number of people who come and talk to me about the Zed, how much they admire it, what is it, we all know that feeling...

I might decide to sell the Zed in future, who knows? But what I do know is - is that just like in 2009 - it would be because I was buying another 300zx....

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
