  1. sorry can't help. Tech section seems a little dry without the man that knows all :(
  2. This was exactly my thought as I started reading the thread. Even if the whole thing is removeable, with the weight of those speakers it's not going to be a one man job to get it out. Gonna look very good but not going to be very practicle for any rear maintainance work like fuel pump access, rear shocks, any rear electrical work or simple bulb changing etc.
  3. In that case you probably won't be removing the calipers completely. Get a couple of long cable ties so you can tie the caliper out of the way (usually cable tied to the suspension spring). That way you don't have to worry about bleeding the system when you are done. Still use the trick of the cling film over the res, that way you can push the pistons in a little easier to fit the new pads. you can buy a brake fitting tool from halfords that consists of a long bolt and a fake brake pad attachment, these are very good and makes the jobs of resetting the pistons in the calipers much easier for when you go to put the thicker pads in, espacially if the disks are slightly thicker as well. Wipe the discs over with a bit of brake cleaner to get rid of the film as well. You may need to modify your metal dust guard that sits at the back of the disks as the stock ones are made to wrap over the edge of the stock discs. A pair or pliars will do the trick easy enough or you could just dremel the folding edge off.
  4. Blow torch and a large mallet. Can't think of anything else.
  5. before you start, take the lid off the brake res, put some cling film over the top then put the lid on very loosely (i.e. do not do up all the way). this allows expansion of the fluid in the res without overflow or restiction. i.e. film expands better than seal plastic. What are you fitting, I take it you have bigger calipers, disks and pads but are they all new or 2nd hand ?. If they are 2nd hand have a look at the pistons as you may want to do a caliper rebuild first before fitting them, saves time in thelong run and you will get much better performance from them.
  6. I still haven't seen it in the flesh yet Fas. You'll have to pop round my way when you are in the area.
  7. Excellent news Harry !!! I'm well chuffed mate :) It's so good to hear it's getting easier after all the time you've had suffering with the treatment. As for the games, have you tried Juiced 2 ? I'm playing it at the moment (well when I get a chance that is). It's pretty good as not only can you race, you get to modifiy your own cars, you may be able to get this as a preowened quite chaep and still have the money for one of the newer games :). Get your dad to drop a few small marshmellows in your hot chocolate for you, nothing beats chocolate with marshmellow toppings ;)
  8. Doh ... I've been busted :headvswal :D On a side note the dyno section has been in place since April 2004. I used to display the leaderboard in terms of graphs mapping each person on a graph based on that particular dyno location. i.e. thor would have about 8 - 9 people mapped on the same graph and other location dyno grapths would only have one. When my car was off the road for 3 years I kinda slacked a lot in the upkeep of that part of the forum and it pretty much died, now I'm back what better way to revive it with a little cometetive spirit within the club.
  9. This is the whole reason I created the leaderboards in the dyno sections.... To stop this whole debate of who's is the fastest, who's has the most BHP etc. Some people, don't find the need to prove themselves to everyone else and are happy knowing that they know what thier car can do. therefore you probably won't find them in the dyno secion leaderboards. Each entry for the leaderboard for 1/4 mile, track and RWBHP is updated as the proof is submitted. If people don't want to submit then they won't be on the leaderboards. So, if you want to be considered the fastest/most bhp in the club, post up your stats/proff and get added to the leaderboard. If anyone asks who's is the fastest from now on we can get rid of the whole debate and point then at the dyno section where they can see for themselves and view the proof of the pudding. Currently the fastest 300zx's on this site are: (Although I will be updating these soon as some are RIP or sold to non members - they will still be in the leaderboard but marked as deceased). Andyduff 12.72 @ 120 ed davies12.76 @ 113 Black slag 12.79 @ 110 Rob B 12.88 @ 115 Chunk 13.04 @ 108 Highest RWBHP Z's are: (again these will be updated as deceased for members that have left or sold up) Cj - 533 @ 6531 - Thor Racing - http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=85644 Machine - 491 @ 7500 - Thor Racing http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=93219 Kirbz - 479 @ 6200 - Town End Garage http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=113777 Boomin33 - 460 @ 6643 - Owen Developments http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=79144 Smithy - 414 @ 6300 - WRC technologies http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=52036 Now I know there are 1/4 miles times by members on here that have been quicker than the above and i also know of a few cars running high RWBHP that are not mentioned above, but no stats have been produced for them in the dyno section so I can't update the leaderboards to include them.
  10. I was thinking of going to this, I'll probably not bother now. The best Motor show I ever went to was in Toronto Canada. '02 Nothing has come close to it.
  11. In a word, Yes ! But again, there's nothing stopping you from customising it. It's only fibreglass at the end of the day, so if you want to change the bump from Jap spec recess to UK spec, it shouldn't be too hard to do.
  12. Just get it customised like mine mate. TBH, I love the shape of the Wings west but never did like the massive square holes for the exhaust so when I had mine fitted I knew my exhaust would only ever be replaced by the same exhaust (never seen or heard anything better for my preference - apart from the BB triflow and I can't afford that). Any body shop that is fitting and spraying it for you should be able to customise it however you like. here's my customised version. Blended into bumper and huge square holes customised to fit exhausts.

Truned the air con on last night as it was a little warm in the house. It's not posh air con through the entire house. Juts one of those mobile units. After about an hour of laying in bed it wasn't getting any cooler. Until the point where I went to check it and forgot to put the outlet pipe out the window. I hate the hot weather, I much prefer snow ;)
  14. I've had this problems for ages and it's driving me nuts. I've got the R33 GTR Calipers. The pads are good and the discs are good. I took them off a few weeks ago to clean and re - greece them, but withing about 10 miles they are fooking squeeling again. I'm going to rebuild my calipers soon and replace the pads with ds2500's ( I think that's what they are called) - someone correct me if I'm wrong.
  15. Ok thanks mate. I've posted this up in the correct section now. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=114892 Please add your name to the list if you are interested. As the date is the 10th August it's less than 2 weeks away so we need to move quick on this one. Does anyone know who I need to speak to about posting this on the Z club site ? If all goes well I've been speaking to a few of the other car clubs. Mostly Jap ones but they would be interested in a club v club contest. Would love to have a 300zx v Saxo shoot out at some point LMAO !!
  16. I've run this by Darside TT and all is good. The Date = Sunday 10th August / 09:00 - 16:30 All day event. The Prices = Prices on the day: Day Fee: £16 Overalls: £2 (if required) Paint: 6p per ball 5p per ball (in bulk) Pre-pay packages: Day fee + Gas + Overalls + 600 balls £40 Day fee + Gas + Overalls + 1000 balls £55 Please check out the site itself for more info on the location etc. http://www.mayhem-paintball.co.uk/ I'll need a £10 deposit per person to secure their spot (paypal is fine) If you want to go with one of the prepay packages, I will need the total payment from you instead of the deposit. The deposit and prepay packages are no refundable (the site's rules not mine), but are obviously transferable (much better option if you are trigger happy like me) I'm looking to try and get a group of 20 people together i.e. club members and friends. That way we can have two teams of 10 v 10. We will play these teams all day. If we can't get as many as 20 and we can only get 10, we will have 1 team and play against others on the day. Less than 10, then we will just get merged into another team. Numbers so far: PAID SMW1 + 1 (looking to increase this by a few yet) Interested awaiting names...
  17. I'm awaiting permission from Darkside TT before posting the details in the meetings and event section. I'm just wondering who would be interested in a days paintball in Essex on Sunday 10th August. This would be an open day and not just limited to Z club members, i.e. bring friends / family along for the fun. Depending on how trigger happy you are and what package (if any) you go for. I can't see it costing you more than £60 max (that's pretty much all equipment hire, food, drink and 1000 paintballs). Smaller packages are available along with the pay as you go options. Let me know if you are interested. I will get this put in the events and meetings section when I head back from Darkside TT. Thanks
  18. Ah man sorry to hear this. I didn't know him but it's always a shame to hear someone in the community has passed away. RIP.
  19. If I can get it mapped in time I'll be there and hopefully have a few runs. If I can't get it mapped in time, I'll be there without any runs.
  20. I can't really add any more than what's already been said above. Just welcome to the club and enjoy the Drive. I'm over the bridge in Romford so if you ever get stuck just send me a PM and I'll help out as much as I can (need to be subscribed to send PM's)

    Don't you mean R35 ?
  22. You can tell by the way he walks, he's a womans man.
  23. Yeah I know it's a little strange for someone with a Modded 300zx to want speed humps, but I live on a road which runs paralell with the high street. When the high street is busy during rush hours, people decide to take a short cut to skip the traffic and use the two acces roads form the high street to get onto my road which is about 300 meters long. Once they get on to my road it's like they are on a drag strip, trying to get down there as quick as possible to skip the traffic. Now the road is not very wide, it has cars parked on both sides and there are also other streets inbetween the road access points that come out onto my road, one of them being opposite my house. I've been off with flu for a few days and during the day I've counted at least 10 - 15 people doing at least 70 down my road. I've got a 9 month old daughter who I would like to think can play safely in the street when she's a little older. What's the proceedure for applying for speed humps ?. Do I need to get a petition signed ?
  24. That's one tough Tree !!!
