  1. If I could turn back time, I wouldn;t have bought it and instead stuck all the money in a savings account and bought a brand new car, then payed off my mortgage with what ever was left over :). Don't get me wrong, I love the car and don't begrudge speding money on it, it just adds up and up and then there's a point of no return where you then have to spend money on it to get it to how you want it.
  2. In the 6 years I've owned it and starting from a completey standard car. not including petrol, tax, mot, insurance.. I'm up to around £55 - £60k.
  3. yup it's section 4b of your license. The valid to date usually 10 years from the date of issue (i.e. valid from setion 4a).
  4. I'm very jealous. Congratulations mate. I wish you much fun and happiness driving it :)
  5. Knowing Matt, he'll be doing the engine swap himself, so he's be saving even more money.
  6. If that includes downpipes that have been researched for good flow rates then 3" all the way for a grand is a good price. It's all good having a 3" exhaust but the downpipes are smaller than 3" so that's the bottle neck.
  7. Sorry to hear this Matt. Seems like you were forever fixing it, shame that it has ended this way. Good to hear you are ok though, let us know how it turns out with the insurance company.
  8. use a soldering iron to cut a cross in the lense then use needle nose pliars to snap off little bits at a time until it's all gone.
  9. Standard ford mustangs look shite if I'm honest. You want either a Super Snake, Shelby GT550 version or the new GT500 KR ;) Never liked R32's. R34 has always been my favorite liner.
  10. Do you have an close up pics of the headlights without them on ?. I just want to see what they would look like during the day.
  11. I have a Howe and an electric fan. Having overheating issues at the moment due to a ceased rad cap, but before that never had any problems.
  12. Will there be any donutting and thrashing about the car park. If so I'll go meet up with deve8uk for a granpa pint instead :)
  13. Oooh GT550 super snake. Now you're talking my langauge :)
  14. Ok I'm staying out of it, it's not my busines. It just winds me up how you can say you are not allowed links to a forum that competes with this one. But at the same time it's a forum that you as head Mod are not only registered on but have made 62 posts on it in under a month. That's just a little hypocritical.
  15. Kim, no disrespect but you have been on that forum and many times both Saz and Andy have said that was not the intention. I think it's a little unfair that you see it this way. If andy and saz weren't banned from this forum, then I doubt they would have set up the other one, they both have a very high interest in the cars that we own, what els were they to do if they wanted to keep in touch with the people that they have ade friends with over here ?. but at the end of the day, it wasn't set up to compete, more so just to stay in touch with their friends and other people who share common interests.
  16. I think it's only links to the other forum, I've posted links up before to the US club and the Twin turbo.net and plus people post links all the time o other sites on how to's etc. So my guess is that it's only links to Saz & Andy's site that are not allowed. Can someone clarify so we know what we can and can't post up ? Back on track.... It's an amazing read up and plenty of pics, you're done really well mate. I have to say though, when you started talking about angle and degrees etc, you lost me :D
  17. Well done mate. It wasn't the heater matrix feeds then ?
  18. yeah the pipes come off with bolts. You'll need an alan socket and a small extention with a wrench. The lower pipe is held on by 1 alan bolt and 2 standard bolts. Once you have these pipes off you will see that there are two more mounts that are bolted to the engine, these are held in by 2 standard bolts each. You probably won't be able to get the small rubber pipes off of these even with the clamps removed so you may as well take them off and check inside for corrosion. That's of course if you want to go down this route ;). I've currently stripped mine off and I'm repolishing the pipes , replacing the damaged hoses and the outlet mounts and repainting the cam covers :). Takes about an hour to strip everything out from start to finish.
  19. Thanks for the comments / advice guys. I wasn't too worried about engine bling with these as you won't really be able to see them. I was more interested in getting the best heavy duty ones for the job. The reason I'm trying to iron out the small problems and prevent them happening agin in years to come is that when I sell the car next year, I will have peace of mind that the new owner won't have any problems that I could have prevented.
  20. Anyone know a supplier of a good quality silicone replacement for the rubber outlet pipes. i.e. the ones that connect from the engine to the water pipes ? I know I can get the rubber stock ones for $5 each but I'm wondering if there is a stronger alternative ?
  21. I think Mac was given another 10k post count back in 2002 not sure if it was ever taken off.
  22. Usually the underside of them that bursts / cracks. this was mine two months ago.
  23. The brown stuff will usually come from the corrosion of the outlet pipes from the engine, i.e. the two small pipe mounts that the short rubber hoses connect to. These are prone to corrosion. May be worth checking them if you are going to take the rad off anyway. You then just need to unbolt the water pipes unclip the rubber hoses and unbolt the mounts. I've just ordered two of them and the rubber hoses from the US for under $40.
  24. really ?. I'm getting this light on and off constantly and I dont; even have cats. I thought this may have been because the sensor is earthing out on the chasis.
