  1. What's the trick then James ?. Seems like everyone's getting squeel, what are you doing to stop it as I'll have to do it with mine.
  2. oops lol. Yeah, gas mark 200 may be a little high. 200 degrees is what I meant :)
  3. I read pretty much every thread about Brake pads on this forum. Seems like the Majority are saying Ferodo DS2500 are the best pads to get with Mintex 1155 coming in 2nd, followed by a number of others like Portfields and Hawk and then a few even say EBC are good (however I don't like EBC pads). These pads will be fitted once I rebuild my calipers. I have 338mm Original Brembo discs. R33 GTR Calipers These are currently fitted with Portfields. My main problem is Brake sqeel, I absolutely hate it. So much to say I am willing to sacrifice a little stopping power if it means less squeel. So do I go with DS2500 or mintex ?. Do you still get squeel with both no matter how much copper ease you use with the shims ?
  4. Could just have some water in the maf itself. Disconnect the battery live. Take the nose panel off and take the MAF off. Give it a good clean (do not directly touch the sensor itself) Carb cleaner is good for this. If you have a cone filter, heat the oven on gas mark 200 for 5 mins and then switch off, place the cone filter in the oven 5 mins after switch off for 5 - 10 mins to dry out any moisture in it. Clean the connector on the MAF and the connection to the MAF. Depending on how long it's taken you to do that lot, you want to have left the battery disconnected for about an hour at least. If the hour is past reconnect the battery (ECU shoudl now have reset and will be in learning mode). Test to see if the problem is sorted. If it still continues to play up then you need to try a replacement MAF to see if it's the MAF itself. Worth borrowing one to test first before buying a new / 2nd hand one.
  5. The strange thing is that when you post in General a few months before, there seems to be plently of interest, but then when you actually put the time and effort into organising it it's a bit of a disapointment. I can imagine what it's like for you as Events organiser :(.
  6. Lol, he gave you the opportunity to get let out and you p|ssed it out the window due to pride. Top man :)
  7. Due to lack of response. This event is now cancelled. I'm going to just go with a bunch of friends outside the forum.
  8. I've used Zedworld inthe past, personally had no problems with his work or customer service.
  9. No idea about Roy, not even sure if he still has the supra. Mac may still be in touch with him. James, got himself a 3 series after the 300zx and then it got written off by a truck at a roundabout, i.e. the truck decided to use his own lane and the one that James was in. James has his own business now restoring VW campers down in Kent. He's eager to meet up with us for a beer, so I was thinking of getting something sorted for a weekend this month, gotta speak to yourself and Paul C and maybe Mike Groves as well to see if anyone wants to meet up.
  10. You also have the additional stability factor to consider. I only say this becuase if you are thinking about weight saving you are probably also thinking about performance aswell.
  11. I know a place in Basildon that will do it for you. You're probably looking at £50 or so tops. I imagine that they would just just a section out of the S bend on each side of the zorst and weld it back together. May just be worth calling these guys for a ball park figure. Two sister companies similar names. http://www.pipecraft.co.uk - deals with polishing and fabrication work - west sussex. http://homepage.ntlworld.com/susan.insole/?sfgdata=4| - deals in exhausts and specalises in custom exhausts (where I got mine made for £410 ).
  12. I was just playing around in the user CP and noticed there's a section there that stores all the attachments you have ever put up on the forum. It's going back a few years now, but I thought I'd link a couple of the old ones in just for good times sake.
  13. Looking at the picture it seems that the problem is with the position i.e. further away from center than most other zorsts. Is this the case ? Have you thought about just fabricating the exhausts so they come out in the standard place, that way you can get the bumper you want, rather than just trying to find something you are not 100% keen on just because it fits.
  14. If you are running totally stock set up. Grab a new clutch from Mike Feeney in the trading section. If you are running high boost or intend to up he power, grab yourself an RPS max street clutch from DTA motorsports also in the trading section. Ask them to check the flywheel for you as well as if you have burnt your old clutch you may need it skimmed.
  15. You get a bunch of friends and start a click !. Then as your group grows you can over turn the forum, then take over the world. I don't have any friends :(
  16. The wheel is smaller but then on your everyday wheels you have a lower profile, so the spare wheel will have no trouble replacing your existing wheel. I've seen so many car driving round with a space saver on. The whole purpose of these space savers is to get you and your car to the nearest tyre place to repair replace your problem wheel/trye. Too many people just drive around with one on with the I'll get it sorted later attitude. The tyre on the space saver doesn't really have a rating and has problebly been sitting in the boot for many years, so it's not a safe wheel to use as a casual wheel. You won't have any problems using it, but just make sure you get it sorted asap to get your proper wheel back on.
  17. I can't imagine how they could possibly bill you for that much. Did you get a quote before hand ? It's bascially disconnect injector and coil pack connectors (all 6), disconnsct anything else that attaches the plenum to the lower plenumn, plenumn off, injector out, new o ring, injector in, new plenum gasket, plenumn back on, connect everything back up. I can only assume that they broke some connectors and had to wire in some new ones. Get a break down of exactly what they did in writing and before you go to pay write a letter of payment in dispute. i.e. you cover yourself if you want to take any further action. You have to pay for the full amount no matter what, just to get your car back, but you can write this letter to say you are paying to get your car back but will be taking it to a court to get a full or partial refund if they feel the work that was carried out was either not justified or over priced. If at any stage you did not get a quote before hand or they phoned you to tell you that the price was going to be more than you originally quoted. There is nothing you can do about it (legally).
  18. Are they capped off or just hanging loose ?. When the engine is running is there any vaccum on them ?
  19. Yeah, a simple nail file (don't tell the wife) is what you should have used. An angle grinder is a little overkill :D.
  20. They look nice mate. Did you not wire brush them first with a fast drill ?. this would have made them a lot smoother rather than the rough surface they have. Also if you want to, take a flat file and rub down the Nissan logo and it will come out looking very nice.
  21. Shoudln't this be in FAQ ? :D
  22. ...and that's not an engine worth showing off lol. They could have at least bling'd it up a bit if they were going to put it into production :) Good for shows but that's about it.
  23. Listen guys and girls. I'm not putting up a leaderboard for fastest top end and I'm not adding a section for the salt flats of Utah !!!. Lets stick to what we got in the dyno section. If we wanna aim to move up the ladder or get on it post your stats there and I'll ammend the leaderboards. If there are people that think the dyno section and the leaderboards are going to cause trouble or rifts between people, I'm happy to take contrustive critism of how to get round it.
  24. If I'm totally honest. Bigger discs but same size calipers and same size pads. I'm not sure you would even notice any improvement ?. I mean the contact area will be exactly the same apart from the outta diameter, so the only gain I can see is it takes longer for the pad to do a full rotation of the disc.
