  1. That was me ;) You beat me to it though :D
  2. Cos do you mean the PRVR ?. I.e plastic canister that sits in the passenger wheel arch and leads up to a relay by the battery ?. I take it you have decatted. if so have you completely removed your AIV's (including the tank which sits behind your side repeaters in the wings)?. These weigh a fair bit. Also when you say you have removed the weight from the tailgate, does this mean you have also removed the rear wiper and motor as well ?. If not then this could cause a problem as over time the tailgate could start to flex slightly which could not only misshape the tailgate but also lead to things like spoilers etc cracking. A guy I spoke to at SE totally wrecked his tailgate tub by removing the weight in the tailgate and not taking out the wiper motor. I'll send you some pics on MSN of the damage it causes over time.
  3. That engine hasn't even been pulled I bet. It's still got a stock Rad FFS, and I've looked really closely, but unless he's using mig tips I can't seem to see any boost controller lines.
  4. Gary thinking about it, this will also be an aid to members when they fill out their nominations forms for the 300zx.co.uk JAE trohpies (most infor to follow nearer the time).
  5. Yep I'll go with Jaffa on this one. TT's have 370cc injectors (jap and UK) NA have 340cc injectors (Jap and UK)
  6. I'm not familiar with chris's suggestion but if that seems ok try the following: Stick it in 5th gear at 30mph and put your foot down. Do the revs rise but the car doesn't go fast ?. If yes then the clutch is slipping. Is it worst when the car is warm ?, Is the biting point of the clutch near the top of the pedal ? If yes then try adjusting your clutch pedal so the biting point is lower down. Does it still slip now ? check to make sure you have enough fluid in your resovoiur Fluid ok but still slipping ? looks like you need anew clutch.
  7. Sounds like the the vaccum pipe from the balance bar to the relay. If you don't have any luck finding any PM me your address and I'll post you a small length  Actually where in north london are you ?
  8. just had a though Mat, You say it's smoking when coming off the acceleration and at idle after a period of time ? This really is starting to sound like piston rings or landers. When you had probelms with the engine before did you have any scrathes on the bore ?. Saying that you said that the compression was fine. May be worth doing a cylinder leakage test if you can't find anything, it may be a case that by some freak of nature you are loosing roughly X psi from each cylinder. Also what colour is the smoke ?. White, grey/blue or black ? Does it vanish quick at idle or is it quite thick ?
  9. Bloody 'el mate that was quick , did you actually put all the bolts and screws back in last time you rebuilt her
  10. I think it looks great mate.
  11. erm here's my list. Cars 1. 950cc Fiesta pupular plus 2. sierra 1.8glx 3. bmw 735sei 4. nissan 300zx Bikes 1. honda nsr125 2. quaker er5 3. quaker zzr600 4. honda cbr900rr fireblade 5. quaker zx6r ninja And I've been driving cars for 16 years and bikes for 10
  12. Doesn't the stip go all the round the rear screen as 1 piece. I didn't reliase it was split into sections
  13. is this yours mate ? very nice
  14. Nice one Cos. You did sound a bit stressed on the phone, but I'm glad you are almost done.
  15. Jim, What you have regarding your rear diff sounds exactly like what I have on the SWB NA. This was pretty race spec's up as it also have HKS hyper dampers, blitz Sus induction, chip, AFR and full body kit. I recently bought an NA diff to swap it out, but if the skyline boys are saying that it's a LSD with clutch removed and it won;t damage the car at all then maybe I now have a spare NA diff..... Now what can I do with an NA diff  !!!!!, Baggins I may need to speak to you soon lol !!!
  16. To be honest.. removing this to save weight is not really something you need to worry about, the tank is plastic. So the total weight removed is problably less than a lb :(. The heaviest thing is probably the bracket that holds the tank :). However if you just want everything out of the car that you don't need then yep go for it ;).
  17. Well it sounds like a sticky PCV valve to me, but if you have changed them all and they are fine. How much oil are you loosing ? and is there any sign of oil patches under the car ?
  18. Not sure what the good is, but since I removed mine it runs a little rough at idle of the first 10 seconds. The PRVR helps with cold starts. My car starts first time on the button winter or summer, the fact that I snapped the canister than stores the extra air required was the reason i removed mine.
  19. I was gong to suggest trying a seal unit, i.e. blocking the ports butJD's beat me to it !
  20. very unusual wheels, kinda cool though, are they chromed or just very shiny :D
  21. The trim that goes up the winscreed (external) has two different part numbers for left and right however they are identical. Just a nissan or Bosch thing I guess.
  22. Someone (can;t remember who) use the rubber foot stands that you put table legs. then jubilee clipped them in place, worked a treat.
  23. As paul says they are identical. IIRC the wire is also the same length.
  24. 3000 Fooking 'el SE only charge £2,200 (all in) for both heads to be taken off all nvalves to be reseated and the heads skimmed as they are bloody expensive. Who quoted you that ?
