  1. LOL fair play mate, im lumbered with just a single 4870... Good enough to play eve, which does me nicely lol
  2. Its a fab project, although not much e30 left in the v10 conversion! Basically some body panels and thats it!. Looks the nuts though, i'd expect a 0-60 somewhere in the region of 3.5-4.0 seconds. Quick car!
  3. Head gasket? Fairly common on them if its overheated for more than a couple of minutes its probably cracked the head. Unless thats whats already gone. Had a quick look at ebay and a complete 8v engine for these can be had with less than 100k for £200.
  4. burn it! lol Why is it broken? whats wrong with it? Im going to guess its a 320i...?
  5. My first car... 1996 Honda civic 1.5 vtec-e (which was the shit economy one, didnt realise it when i bought it... fool!) Was lowered 40mm with a cat back exhaust with twin rolled tip oval tail pipes + filter = a bit of noise but probably less power lol and 17" kahn RSR clones i think they were.
  6. The one i posted is a different car, that one is the 507bhp v10 from the M5 + transmission, the first one posted was the old v12 from the E32 seven series. Both awesome machines tho!
  7. v12 a nightmare to live with electronics take hell of some setting up! Try this on for size! http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=4515333
  8. I've got to say i id 12k in mine over a two year period and it never let me down once... come rain or shine, snow or wind it was fine. hot weather or cold weather it was good as gold. Apart from that one time when it decided it liked lymn services and wanted to stay there. Until i plugged conzult in - laptop still loading windows but i turned the key just to try one more time and the swine started first time! Never did it again, only think i could put it down to was some static charge over something which the laptop discharged when i plugged it into the diagnostic socket!
  9. worth keeping for a bit of resale value? More working stuff is better than less working stuff.
  10. Good spot, you know its a poor do and that there are so few people who can work on these cars when youve got customers coming from norway! I must admit, when I defect back from german reliablilty (its so tedius!) and have another one i know where it'll be going for work! Its a real issue i've had in the past, lack of knowledge. I called one nissan dealer up to get a price for some parts when i was converting mine to manual, it was only the leather gaitor for the gearstick but the conversation went somethnig like this Hi XXX Nisan Bob Speaking (lets call him bob for want of a better name) Hi I was wondernig if you could do me a price on a leather gaitor for a 300zx. Errrr, are you sure thats a nissan mate, or do you mean 350z? Yes Im sure its a 300zx, it was your flagship sports car from 1990 to 1994. Oh right, never heard or seen one before.... Honest it was like banging rocks together!
  11. stunning car why oh why didnt they make that!
  12. He's a poet yet he doesnt know-it! Its no crime to rhyme... I'll get my coat!
  13. being a quad cam engine you'd need 4... :) http://www.z1motorsports.com/product_info.php?cPath=6_14&products_id=3014 By the looks of that its about $1000 for each pair there or there abouts.
  14. You'll need the first half of the prop as well. From memory: Gearbox Linkage + stick clutch pedal brake pedal balance bar (if on a TT...) the clutch booster tanks + piping and valves, although not required does make driving easier clutch thrust bearing flywheel master and slave cylinders + hydraulic lines One thing to note is that if you have a TT and try and fit an NA box from memory the bellhousing is different (as is the flywheel) but the outcome is basically that the starter motor sits too close to the flywheel and needs spacers to move it away so it can be bolted up sucessfully. (I think its that way round!) When i had mine done it transformed the car, well worth it!
  15. Ah fair play :) well done for making it work! My cruise never worked :( LOL
  16. If you do a search around there is a mod to alter the jap cruise ecu to make it do whatever you want. Its a case of replacing resisters IIRC. :)
  17. quite odd that. Possibly its connected to an IDE or sata controller which has not had any drivers installed for. Another alternative to check if it is in device manager, is that it has a drive letter assigned to it in windows its self. Control panel - administrative tools - computer management - disk management. Might be in there with no drive letter assigned, right click on the offending drive and click "change drive letter and paths"
  18. well, you can sell anything you want as it isnt registered to you in person. In theory since its been used its only for use on that one computer. BUT in reality there is no way it can be checked unless you were to call MS and have the serial number blocked. Lets say the new owner did have to call up, if they were to query about the hardware change then they can say "new mainboard" or something and there is no reason thats suspect. Chances are though it won't sell for a huge value, i once sold a surplus copy of XP pro all sealed up in the packet and got about half its original value - people are understandably unwilling to pay top dollar for a "used" license.
  19. One of our biggest customers insists on using Kaspersky on all machines connected to their network, so anything of ours they use has to have it on. A pain to install, worse to configure and slows the laptops down markedly, to the stage where in some extreme cases its causing issues with our software and pumps. Most annoying!
  20. for the 3rd time if you look at the post times lol.... 2003, 2006 and 2007 now 2009!
  21. ahh i see well that sounds good news! Cant imagine having a car for 10 years, and only doing 70k in it! Ive done 50k in my currant van in just over a year lol
  22. i cant believe you've had it for 10 years! Good luck with the sale.
  23. lol! To be honest, as already shown by the people that have jumped at the chance to be trained as temp workers whilst the rest of them are "on holiday" there are no shortage of people who are willing to work, and since this lot obviously don't want a job then they may as well just give the job and pay to the ones who do want a job and let the rest of them have a cold christmas. They might think twice about striking then! I think it mentioned it on the news the other day but I thought something similar a few days ago where as since no one can trust the royal mail anymore, businesses have gone over to alternative courier firms who'll be rubbing their hands with glee! Of course, they won't go back to royal mail once they have finished moaning. So there won't be as many jobs at royal mail left for them to do! Also whats another courier company going to think when you bring your cv in saying last employment "Royal mail, made redundant after i went on strike" - I know i'd not be inviting them for internew! Bah, pesky strikes really get my back up, if they want to work then bugger of home and let someone else work who wants to!
  24. it certainly would... the 48v 5.6 varient, 380bhp was a good engine. Similar to the Mclaren F1's motor. As is the top end of mine, well half of it lol
  25. i'll have to see about this guys, weekends tend to get booked up by my other half if im brutally honest!
