  1. http://www.nolimitmotorsport.com/blitz/rmonitor-powerid.html Basically tells you how fast and how powerful your car is I think!
  2. OEM nissan parts are not so bad to buy and should be perfectly fine for a standard car (assuming your car is standard!), assuming that the flywheel is OK it shouldnt be that expensive!
  3. Thats just ruined the dream of the tuscan.. Dam thats annoying! I suppose we could rid the world of those hateful smart things - BURN IT BURN IT WITH FIRE!
  4. I love the way that in this thread about the nissan juke, we have discussed, tvr, audi, hyundai, most nissans and european car markets along with export and marketing policies... Awesome :D
  5. Oh tell me about it, I go weak at the knees at the sight of any TVR, saw a T350 and a sagaris together the other day PORN! But the cerbera is my favorite, I go through phases but the proble at the moment is that they seem to be going up in value and I just couldnt ever justify the money on something that I know would cost me a fortune to live with and be so unreliable. Not when im saving for a house... always the house think of the house!
  6. Meh I suppose they must have their reasons. It is a shame, i would love to see more interesting cars on the road. I do often think there isnt really anything i actually want thats new! Give me a cerbera any day!:D
  7. 370z... its not really a premium car... LOL Its very nice but Id go german any day if was going to spend 30k+. Its japenese, its meant to be cheap! One engine choice just screams lazyness to me. At least with the 300zx they offered na and turbo models. The 350z suffered from the same thing. Below average interior trim and design, the 300zx is as bad for it. Shame about the hyundai coupe, was a good looking car. Heres to hoping they'll replace it! I know the 370z doesnt cover all bases, but its neither one nor the other in my mind, its neither cheap so everyone can have one, nor special enough to be exclusive IMHO. Its in the waste ground of being a bit expensive, and a bit cheap - obviously this is governed by its engineering. Its not the cost of importing a car, its the cost of setting the dealerships up to cope with new cars, dealing with the advertising and generally getting the market ready for another car. THat would cost a fortune and for potentially very few sales its just not worth the bother. Think of Nissan Europe having to stock all the parts for the altima for the last 10 years, hell its bad enough trying to get bits for what was their top of the range car! Poor sales killed the 300zx, mainly because it was a 35k nissan (are you mad!) but also it will have been a cop out. Its not been that sucessful, its not worth supporting it for all these years - hence why it lived on in japan until 2000!
  8. Looks like hyundai have dropped the coupe, i was looking on their website for a price and I cant see it listed anywhere!
  9. I suppose part of the problem is that the UK market is tiny, so much paperwork for the more interesting cars that its just not worth bringing them here. Look what killed the 300zx, generally the expense of making a handful suitable for eurpe, both LHD and RHD and then bringing them here and then trying to sell them into a market where people know nissan for things like the micra, note, pixo that kind of rubbish. So then if people do want a nice looking car, they wouldnt think of nissan... Pugeot have been very brave with the RCZ, its a fantastic looking thing (although a bit dear if im honest! I know they start at 20k but the 200bhp one is £25.5k... now a base model TT is only £26.5k - i know which I would spend that money on) I do feel that if Nissan were to bring a "cheap" coupe of that sort of class here then it would be as expensive as the more premium brands. Problem that they have as well is that the 370z tends to cover all bases. Its slap bang in the middle of the TT range. It starts at around 29k ish which is top TT coupe money, moving into TTS range (although they start from 34 or so) Of course the 370z only has one engine choice which does limit the range quite a bit. I think this is where they go wrong. Using one model that sits in the middle it doesnt really satisfy either end of the market. So it would have to be 18-20k cheap but could they bring an altima coupe here for that?
  10. Their website is still about, Just looked at it. I take it the 3g big brake kit uses afermarket calipers? Or does it still use the standard caliper? Found these on ebay - they will most likely fit also appear to be from 3g themselves! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Skyline-R34-GTT-310mm-TWO-PIECE-Brake-Discs-FRONT-/320464262966?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4a9d289736

Congrats man!, as long as your not the Uncle that has the white shoes! LOL
  12. Perhaps go about the 600zx in a different way, twin engined! :D
  13. Haha! Ah im only a couple of weeks behind!, welcome back Mantav8 :)
  14. Eek doesnt sound so good! Stock gauges tend not to move until the temperature is terminally high, probably head gaskets at very least. Chances are the damage has been done but lets hope not!
  15. I remember you building this in about 2 weeks flat! It was awesome, glad youve got it back... But Have i missed somthing, didnt you move abroad? Are you back??!
  16. Cool cool, which guages did you get it in the end? Also what senders did you use?, will look forward to pictures!
  17. Ah cool cheers, do you have that plate in the upper or lower slot?
  18. Not sure to be honest, I wouldnt think slow starting on a cold morning would be fuel pump though, Almost certainly glow plugs or maybe injectors need cleaning?
  19. I want to put gauges into the spare din slot on my dash board. I have a "normal" stereo in the top slot, and just empty space in the bottome. I do have a rather nice CF effect dash insert (well I like it!) will the gauges fit below the stero or should I move the stereo down (if this is possible?) I assume there is something better than this, not sure about the staggered affect tbh but I was thinking along these lines? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/RADIO-SLOT-BOOST-GAUGE-POD-3X-52MM-STD-DIN-SLOT-CARBON-/190405397573?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2c550bcc45 I would like: Oil Temperature Oil Pressire Water Temperature Being a total pleb when it comes to this sort of thing I'm not sure where I need to even start looking, I have looked at gauges on ebay and they seem to range from £20-£30 to £100 a piece or so... has anyone got any suggestions as to what might look best? I do have a Defi Boost gauge mounted on the dash to the right of the instrument hood which is blue when lit up. For the oil temperature, I assume I'm going to need a sensor for this? Oil pressure, can I use the stock sender? Or should I get another one and leave the stock oil pressure gauge working? Water Temperature: Can I use the stock sensor, will this mean the stock water temperature guage stops working (not that works well in the first place!)
  20. Thats okay, had a couple of e36's (323i, and M3 Evo) so its all imprinted in there. Just racking my brains for anything that might be good to look for. Ah, typical german cars can crack springs, again not always a huge problem (my dad has had 7's for years, he sent a 740's he had for service of which they called him and said "did you know two of the springs were broken?" of course dad hadnt even noticed!) E36's to have a bit of a strange offset driving position, some people cant get on with it, It never bothered me so dont be worried if the pedals arent underneath the steering wheel LOL
  21. The first real diesel that wasnt a compromise! Infact this car won awards for the fact that it was diesel but not deathly slow or noisey! Although they are quite rare. I read a review of it (its in an old magazine I have) which boldy claims its faster than the 320i and in the real world every bit as quick as the 325i due to the torque and that with a 325 of course your wringing its neck all the time. Being a 325tds it has the turbo'd and intercool'd 2.5 diesel straight 6, so 143bhp. Little known is that thsi engine powered the rangerover P38 and also the Vauxhall omega for quite some time! Autogear box suits these engines quite well, I cant remember if it was a 4 or 5 speed box that they got but either way it will be 20x better than a zed autobox - BMW autoboxes are generally sublime and very reliable! Its not to say that they cant go wrong, but alot better than most! Usual E36 things to check for, front wings and rear arches for rust being preface lift the front wings can go around the side repeaters. Also the boot lid and if its had a spoiler nailed onto it, they can cause the top of the lid to rust. Rear trailing arm bushes wear and gives you an odd floaty backend + clunking not expensive to fix just a common one. Also general suspension wear, milage depending I would expect the shocks to be fairly shot at. I suppose if its a work hack it doesnt need to be in tip top condition as long as it passes an MOT. Other than that they are a generally good car, typical BMW though check for working electrics, things like on board computer (if it has it). Window regulators can be bad as well. Another thing to check is that if the car has check control (basically tells you when bulbs are blown, fluids low etc etc) but bits from a none check control cr are fitted (e.g lights, radiator etc) it will cause the computer to report faults. Doesnt mean there are any but can be annoying and worth looking into!
  22. Easy ones are the best!
  23. Just get a faster daily then the zed wont be such a difference. Lets be honest a discovery and a zed are polar opposites! If you had something with a big of poke for everyday then it would all be fine!
  24. Maybe they have done that and fitted another oil cooler for the engine oil, IIRC its got calsonic on top of it?
  25. Ah well spotted! LOL so not like my car, weird to see it as the youtube thumbnail though, looked just like a video of mine... thought hannngggg on a minute!
