  1. Yeah i want to have a look and see if mine has the feature. Although it does have 99 spec front lights with LED sides and no fogs etc so chances are the wiring is less than OEM lol
  2. Haha! Im good cheers, couldnt think of anything worse than financing a car!
  3. For 12k?! Where do I sign!
  4. Do you have an aftermarket ecu or map? Are you running increased boost?... DONT BE TIGHT AND BUY CRAP FUEL!
  5. I dont to be honest! This is something I did try and find out but didnt manage to. I did call a local place that makes brake lines and they said "bring the caliper in and we'll have a look". I just decided on a different route and sold the calipers.
  6. What is this feature then? Mine is S4 should it have it? Or was it an option, any way to check other than taking the steering cowl to bits?
  7. Thats all good then, if you do decide otherwise the best way I found was to buy impreza STI seal kits as they are half the price but the calipers fitted to the STI are the same as the big red brembo fitted to the evo's apart from that bleed nipples are on the "other end" no issue just needs to be swapped around with the pipe that connects the non nipple end for the 300zx setup :) FYI other people looking for big brake upgrade info.
  8. Cruise control cancel perhaps? Depending on the model and year? Or maybe from an airbag model?
  9. Be aware that the seals for these calipers are VERY expensive if you intend to rebuild them. :) BTW i did get a set of these for £88 a few months ago but sold them on for £120 when i realised how much the seals were along with the pads, lines, discs and brackets - it was cheaper and easier to buy a set of D2/Ksport 8 pots. :)
  10. 93 is less than even a standard uk manual should be on 95 minimum! Did u say your car is running increased boost? If so you have an afermarket ecu map - which will be expecting 97 or 99 ron i would have thought. Doesnt matter if its actually on a UK ecu surely, as the original fueling map has been changed to allow for higher boost and more power!
  11. I can imagine loose wires on connectors would cause a problem... But when you say higher octane fuel, what do you norally put in it? If you use shite fuel, supermarket especially then you'll get problems. Put proper petrol in it!!! As bad as some bird the other day i saw, local esso petrol station - shitty regular in an R8 god help us!
  12. Also bear in mind that a working autobox and any oil coolers you have do have a value. When I converted my old zed I sold my autobox and oil cooler for £330 which certainly helped towards the costs. (I admit it was a rebuilt one, with a receipt etc but you should certainly get something for it!)
  13. When I had my Auto TT converted to a manual I noticed a massive decrease in fuel consumption, talking 40 miles + extra a tank with my normal driving as I could select the ratios i wanted. Biggest problem with a 300zx auto is because its so wide geared as soon as you touch the throttle it changes down when it really doesnt need to. It was even better on the motorway! (And so much faster ;) )
  14. All quoted figures in brochures are at the fly as the engines are dynoed out of the car when they are being developed :) 260 at the wheels is probably well over 300 so not for an old girl, depending on mods and condition of course!
  15. doesnt give anyone the excuse to put other drivers in risk that was all but unavoidable by them. I dont see how its a quality to be celebrated! Im not saying he didnt do good things over his life just quite suprised at the lack of regard for other peoples lives on the track!
  16. ill be honest i dont follow f1 so im not sure about any of them but he hardly makes me think hes a hero!
  17. Sounds dangerous to me! Just watching this thing on top gear about him causing accidents by putting his car in a stupid place, hero? I think not! :s What a cnut!
  18. is it automatic or manual? TT or NA? Information is always good :)
  19. Not bad from a distance ;) lol I thought this might have been you.... although silver sticker??
  20. ... ;) Sounds like your speaking from experience! LOL
  21. lol, says he who pays for sex ;) Nah its just a quick tidyup job as they look a mess right now with nasty red rims etc!
  22. Not paying for powder coating!, I dont have time for it also cant send the wheels away as I dont have any others to put on the car and I wont/cant leave it on axle stands while im away for a week or more for work. I'll just paint em a dark grey and be done with. I dont even like the wheel design that much if im honest!
  23. I would be wary of ruling out all 100k cars, bear in mind if somethings done 95k and needs a clutch, but the one at 105k has had a clutch - which is the better buy... Condition not milage (unless your looking for sub 50k models!) Also another point to consider there are very few manual 540is, most of them cary high miles as the few there are tend to be very sought after. Where as of course all M5's are manuals :) This guy is an interesting chap, and shows what can be done with a high milage M5 http://mukerji.co.uk/ (also good for M3's and the suchlike!)
