165 mph crash
Took the 250bhp from wiki, as the fleet spec crown vic.... i think civilian models are 220bhp... Might not have been a crown vic that your guys had ;)

poor fuel economy
I must admit, its taught me to drive like jesus.... im ashamed but i actually drive my laguna faster than the zed on lanes, purly to a fuel factor (and i dont care about the laguna....)

Where to find....
Here :)

poor fuel economy
lol, well if you had an NA, you could probably convert it. Jap spec NA is 230bhp, few mods could be 250, if you found a slicktop its going to be as quick as a standard TT i would say.... since most are poorly sick and running around on safety boost is seems anyway!

poor fuel economy
conversion costs tho, there is a place that have done a twin turbo maser before, been posted up a couple of times. But the cost would be astronomical, and im lead to believe that although LPG might be half the price but the cars use nearly twice as much! So it doesnt really solve much

Pc numpty strikes again
if that was the case i would have thought any txt he had typed would be in caps... doesnt appear to be in option in IE7 to open a new browser each time, but i seam to remember there being one in IE6.... dont think i have a machine with IE6 on it anymore lol, apart from my laptop which lives in the car. However its cold and wet so there aint no chance im getting it lol

165 mph crash
have you noticed this... slightly changing the subject but in all films you get some fantastic sports car, and whatever speed it can do there is a bloody ford crown victoria, with a 4 speed auto right up behind it.... Now why does anyone bother with the sports cars in the states as it appears this family saloon can outperform them all?! thy have a 4.6l v8 @ 250bhp and weigh 1900kg's! so how the hell can they stay with quick cars!?!?

poor fuel economy
That is pretty poor unless you were flying everywhere... not even 12 to the gallon... Worst ive had out of a tank on mine is about 15 to the gallon.. Maybe you have a VERY heavy foot! ;)

zed front end
iv got to say iv never noticed it before, maybe because my car is grey but mine looks colour coordinated... and iv just noticed that my number plate isnt central either lol, thats going to really really bug me now
-
ECU chip information
cant tell anything from the picture, its just a "chip" all the numbers on it state are its original manufacturer (i.e the factory that produced the blank chip before it had anything programmed into it) and that its an EPROM chip with 256kb of memory. Need to find out who fitted it, and ask them what its programmed with :)

Fuel costs - mpg
lol, i might get mid 20's from mine on the motorway, but i dont think the chipped ecu in mine does it any favors...

taxing recently purchased car (not got new V5 yet)?
Can use section 10 up to a maximum of 2 months from the purchase date of the car.
-
Ebay Z, i like the design!!
The rear end looks like the 300zx "Estate" or speed wagon i think it was called, really rare aftermarket converison which looked bloody awful!

Nearly came to blows with a chav on a scooter today.
we can only hope so....

Vin number
lol all nice and easy, thanks by the way chris_e_boy, nice to see it work! checked with mine now and its close enough. Need to have another play with this thing when i get a chance!

Beeping @ Speed??
Mine doesnt beep at speeds, and the steering has plenty of feel at speed, has a chipped ecu and UK clocks (i think!) boost in psi, and oil pressure in kg/cm3 speedo with mph aorund the outside and kph in the inside

help new zed owner in gloucester
Power mode makes the car hold gears longer and downchange quicker. Hold mode is like a winter/cruising mode. Makes the car start in second, and also wont kick down the same. quite nice for milling about if your not wanting to go fast. the one on the side of the stick is overdrive, fairly self explanitry but it basically disables 4th. Clicky

loads of breakers lately?
yeah... just the cost of getting it converted and finding somewhere to do it as well... i'll decide near xmas, keep looking at swb slicktops and dreaming. as with all jap cars they haveir good days and bad days! on a bad day i feel like getting out and leaving it and walking home, on a good day i dont want the journy to end!
-
what mpg are u getting???
my fuel guage is woefully in accurate, only ever managed to get 58l in it before, and thats right on the bottom line (still no light though), and from that i can get about 250 if i drive like jesus on the motorway.... but i can get 200 driving around town, little errands here and there, perhaps the odd blast down the by pass etc. Thats on a jap TT auto with a mines chipped ecu, exhaust and filter (and possibly aftermarket downpipes... not sure!)

loads of breakers lately?
Im having similar thoughts, i really want a manual. Just cant afford to convert mine at the moment, but ive now got a nice lean low milage (62k) auto TT, with a fairly recent recon box in it (15k ago) and i know its not worth anything. So do i spend the time and effort converting it? Do i break it and put the money towards a nice manual, or do i try and seel it for peanuts to buy a manual one. Just dont know what to do!

Argh me left turbo
well ive always been told is £2000 ish to replace turbos, engine out and back in and replace turbos is about £800 of labour so i believe and £600 a side fo some nice big ones (including all the extra bits etc etc etc)
-
Argh me left turbo
so your saying you tried to start the car with effectivly no spark? Shouldnt affect a turbo i dont think! they are 9.5 or 9.8 psi standard (i think??) so its not too higher boost. Just got old i think, how many miles are on your turbos?
