  1. well i hope you get herpes ;) (jk mate which have you gone for?) What i would do for one of those just cant be mentioned on a public forum!
  2. fair enough. Id not seen it
  3. aye, it had C12 on the plate and some more couldnt read it. Its an old episode though from 2005.07.24
  4. Not the one everyone is thinking about ;) Season 6 episode 9 at around the 25 minute marker there is a blue LWB TT. In london, anyone know who this is?? :)
  5. depends what its got at the moment and where you want to go with it. Is it totally standard perforamnce wise? Obvious work is a boost increase w(idealy with a boost controller) with an aftermarket exhaust (Take your pick) and suitable chip (andy P or Dta) and filter (Apexi tend to be very good). Thats considered stage 1 for performance. After then it gets expensive because its rebuilt turbos and larger injectors (555's say) and perhaps rebuilt T25's with roller bearings etc and all the assorted engine work that goes with them - Very expensive generally Suspension wise, replacement bushings always good, depends what your looking for. Usable comfy road car or track car, id say almost replace with new standard for nice road car - it was fine when it was new. Springs and shocks, well a popular upgrade is eibach springs and KYB shocks which is a nice firm but sporty ride im lead to believe. Im of the old school of thought that coil overs are completly unessacery for the road and purely increase the risk of getting piles. Big things to improve are the brakes, smithys big brake kit is a good start (what i have on mine) but the next popular bolt on upgrade is a set of R33 or R34 GTR brembo calipers. These just bolt on (well almost, R34 require a 12mm hole boring out to 14mm i think it is) and will work fine with the rest of the stock brakes. Although they obviously require new discs @ 324mm and also new pads but that should pull you up nicely. (Ive actually just rebuilt the standard calipers on mine and its made a big difference, along with some DS2500 pads and dot 5.1 fluid with the 324mm grooved discs.
  6. Adrian Flux have been quite the opposite for me... I was about to go with Swinton againt this year at £1040 or somthing like that, was fairly happy with it, but i got a call from another place who dropped it to around 910 so that got me thinking ( i was actually off work at the time ill in bed) so whilst i was considering that one flux called and had a chat and got it down to £770 for me. Which is very good considering im 21 etc, 2 years no claims that sort of thing. No points or crashes or anything but either way i was impressed with it!
  7. jesus, you all have far too much money! My zed was down to £770 this year, 3rd party like, The joys of being an OAP (Compared to you anyway!) of 21!
  8. ive got to ask, what do you do for a job to be able to justify spending £5k on insurance?! Most i ever paid was £1870 for 10 months 3rd party fire and theft on my BMW 323i @ 18, that was horrific enough!
  9. is this a job youve been offered or one you;ve seen you can apply for? The reason I ask is that id just get it applied for, then have a serious think about the logistics if you get it, or at least get to interview stage.. I wouldnt try and make all the plans in the world (and in a way prepare your self to leave!) if you dont actually get it. In many ways the disapointment after the hype will be as bad as the move would be! Get your CV in, see what happens, then deal with it as you get to the crunch point.# Good luck!
  10. eek! Ive got one of them, mine feels fine though, never smelt either.
  11. aye i saw it too! Looked nice, stillen front lip as well i think??
  12. Just thought I'd ask, are you British?
  13. Sounds classic rear shockers to me!
  14. Here is a can of worms, apparently the autobox is stronger, but only the later redesigned ones (93 onwards maybe??) However thats when new, most are getting ropey with age so a full rebuild would be on the cards for one to make it strong. The manual boxes seem to fair better with age and can hold BIG BIG power even with some miles on the clock. Depends if your wanting to actually spend money on rebuilding a box, or just stick with a used one.
  15. what front bumper is on that?? Looks nice although i'll admit im not a fan of that style of alloys. It all looks nicely finished though. Good luck with the interior, what hav eyou got planned?
  16. i say the opposite, when i did use it everyday it got boring, i now look forward to going home to drive it! However i dont deny that my mpg figure will be lower.. i do actually "use" the old girl, phenominal difference to 70bhp van!
  17. hahaha ah im so glad im normally away from home these days... I spend like £20 a week in my zed these days, about of largest cost a week at the moment since im never at home to spend any money!
  18. if it were a boost leak youd have thouht it would do it more of the time, mines only ever done it twice. Once in the isle of man, and once on my private local test track, (aka the bypass hehe)
  19. are you sure that the higher bands dont appy to new cars, as in 08 and 09 reg cars for example. Im almost positive that your car cannnot change from its current band F, cars cannot be reclassified im poisitive of it. Do check for me because id be interested to know, as far as i was aware it was a very old law that car tax could not be backdated in anyway.
  20. where do you think i got the figures from ;) lol i did bhp p/ton my self but 0-60 came from lets torque!
  21. Well as ever if you get a good diesel its always "good for a diesel" which means its not as good as the petrol... So why bother... Unless your tight, i had (well still have a diesel xsara) i bought it because i was tight and didnt want to run a petrol car down there... For motorway work there is some argument for diesel, it does at least function okay on there, but get it in a lane and this mysterious awesome torque that a diesels generate seems to disapear! My xsara develops 200nm or torque (ive no idea when but apparently it does somewhere!), the old laguna i had before that generated about 160 i think yet it was awesome in lanes and quicker on the motorway. The worst thing about diesels though that riles me more than anything is the way they rev up to their top end, that agonising few seconds when you think its not actually accelerating but the revs are still climbing, if ia change too early it'll be off boost if i change later it dies for seemingly hours in the upper aeons of its rev counter (i.e like 4k, an s2000 ticks over at that! LOL). I used to drive a vivaro van, hell it was quick if you drove it right, but it only generated any power from 1800rpm to around 3k, so youd got realistically 1000 revs to play with, so all the time up and down through 6 gears and still then it was either just too much or just too little... Could never get it right in the 15k i drove it for! or not for enough of the time anyway!
  22. and a 3.7l engine and its been on a diet! I think its going to be a good one personally. Somthing like 350bhp, 6 pot fronts and 4 pot rears and 100kg less than 350z is going to see it at around 1400-1450 kg which makes it 240BHP/ton ish! which is about 4.5 seconds to 60. Beast!
  23. Remember that is for 4 disks though, not just fronts as it would be from DTA... although id probabyl say the DBA disk would be a better product, cut from brembo blanks etc!
  24. Mines done this twice now! Sounds really weird doesnt it, not done it for about 3 months. Im interested if anyone has any ideas what could cause this? Its almost like a fuel cut happened to me at around 6500rpm.
  25. what did you pay for tax last year? Ive already said its on the MFR date, not the registration date. Besides, your car wont and cant have an 06 plate on it... remember its illegal to make a car look newer than it is. So yours will have a G or K or an M plate or somthing like that on it.
