  1. the lights are a good effort but ive got to say as for the rest of it im not a fan. Not keen on the spoiler or the badging, I personally think the exhausts stick out a bit far as well, although i must admit that youve got one in each side which is good! :D Quite like the glow centre panel though, its a nice touch - just have to make sure people realise it was a factory option!
  2. http://www.twinturbo.net/ttnettech/autodiag/autodiag.html thats the code translation. Error Codes: All 10 flashes the same = No error codes detected. 1st flash longer than others = Revolution sensor is shorted or disconnected. 2nd flash longer than others = Speed sensor circuit is shorted or disconnected. 3rd flash longer than others = Throttle sensor circuit is shorted or disconnected. 4th flash longer than others = Shift solenoid "A" circuit is shorted or disconnected 5th flash longer than others = Shift solenoid "B" circuit is shorted or disconnected 6th flash longer than others = Overrun clutch solenoid circuit is shorted or disconnected 7th flash longer than others = Lock-up solenoid circuit is shorted or disconnected 8th flash longer than others = Fluid temperature sensor is disconnected or A/T control unit power source circuit is damaged. 9th flash longer than others = Engine revolution signal circuit is shorted or disconnected 10th flash longer than others = Line pressure solenoid circuit is shorted or disconnected All the same with no long start flash = Battery low, been disconnected, or control unit has just been reconnected.
  3. They so say though that its a bad idea to peel the powerranger outfit off - including the helmet/. Tends to hold all the broken bits together in a sort of sausage skin style bag...!
  4. Thats normal mate, everyones always reads empty! :D
  5. Chewies old car? Sounds like the neutral switch to me... mine does exactly the same :) Idles a bit high because of the timing is at 25* instead of 15.
  6. haha! Yeah ive seen a couple of late, mean as anything. I'd love one too!
  7. lets hope it doesnt sink ;) Have a good trip mate!
  8. i find it they get in the way as well, if your getting in and out of the car, you cant sort of lean over the door as you get out with the window down, you have to walk around it. Very annoying... my old 323i (Butter wouldnt melt) had pillarless doors, (as to scoobies actually much to my suprise!) and it was awesome :)
  9. I've taxed worse!
  10. Aeons old! LOL Its been about for ages! Apparently happened at 155mph
  11. Well the bearing was actually knackered when it was converted from an auto to a manual, as in the bearing on the manual shaft. The one on my auto shaft was okay so i assumed they would see sence and swap them bearings, but no... It came back with the absolutly ruined bearing on there. So i believe the gearbox mountings are okay, im not even sure if its already had new ones - i might have had them replaced when the car was converted. As for everything else, the exhaust has been on the car a year, and was off less than 6 months ago when it had its sex change. So I assume it should all come to bits fairly easily...!
  12. could i do it with some technically skilled friends and a ramp? Do i need a puller and a bearing press or not?
  13. Does anyone have some approximate time scales it takes to change aprop centre bearing ive been quoted £100 (a minimum, if they get problems it will be more) to get it changed (me supplying parts) and im not sure if its a fair price or not.
  14. that was you mate! Looking in the mirror ;)

When i first filled my honda civic up, i remember it being 78.9 and it pissed me off when it went over 80p/l... i;ve only been driving 3 and a half years! The price of oil has dropped a little i believe, this is the reason for the supermarket price drop, hopefully shell will follow suit. I did see diesel at 128.9 today though!
  17. His did exactly this, i believe a duff AFM made his idle hunt but duff o2 sensors made it try and die wheven the throttle was blipped or say turned the air con on or made the power steering work etc, it couldnt react quick enough to keep it running at roughly the same revs etc. Also idle control valve, if thats gone a big gunky could cause the issue?>?
  18. The auto your looking at is it a turbo or not? (obviously if its a genuine UK model then it has to be a turbo, just double check that make sure no one is having you on!) As for economy, on a long motorway run at a steady 70 you might see towards the high 20's (I got 27mpg on a run to bristol earlier int he year in my manual) Round town and with some enthusastic driving dont expect anymore than 15, perhaps 18 if your really light on the throttle. Those figures are from my now converted car, was an auto originally, as an auto it was much worse, especially on the motorway, struggled to do any better than 21-22mpg. Remeber if your looking for a UK spec, all were Long wheel base cars (2+2 with Targa Roofs) and were Twin turbo, there was a choice of manual or auto in the UK. Anything else is an import :)
  19. I have a friend whos binliner did this, ran like crap at idle, especially when blipping the throttle. His turned out to be a mixture of both the o2 sensors and the air flow meter was duff, both contributed to the issues (which is why when checking with a known good AFM the issue didnt go away, made for a confusing diagnosis!) Perhaps worth trying!
  20. The file system difference shouldnt affect you. One other way is you can set up a one way network through parallel ports on both the laptop and your main PC, using whats called "direct connection" its now little used and mostly forgotten about but i believe its still part of XP. However the easiest would probably be with a 2.5" hard disk enclosure, they are fairly cheap and of course reusable - stick a 40 or 80gb hard disk in there when your finished and youve effectivly got a big usb powered pen drive!
  21. I would be VERY suprised if they are correct there. It would more than likely have been to draw the fire. To force air back into a firebox would be pretty lethal and just make a mess. Need a suck air through the fire on a steam engine ;) I shall do some investigation though :) Very interesting
  22. Stupid as it sounds your not confusing the term "blowing" on a steam engine to be anything to do with forced induction? Early steam engines were notourious for generating enough draft to draw their own fires so they couldnt make enough steam. Early solutions were permanently driven "blowers" which infact sucked air through the fire and up the chimney in order to make the fire burn more ferrociously.
  23. Ive said that already ;) Steam?? Diesel?? Either of those for another clue? (I cant see how but worth a try)
  24. That would be supercharged - and from the 1930's! Im truely stumped, cant be anything diesel as it wasnt invented until the 1880's and it cant be a steam turbine as the first practical steam turbine was in 1884 and only used to generate electricty and in ships up until the 1940's
  25. which is what i have if you remember correctly! :p
