  1. If you do try this (which I did) and do find a set of 18's, don't forget to check if it also has bigger brakes as your standard wheels won't fit over them when you swap! I managed to find a dead Z with a choice lot of goodies on that I was only too pleased to buy from the owner. Good luck.
  2. Thanks Tim-alot of good sfuff there, I've covered most but still a couple of things to work through. I reckon that should be "sticky" for the amount of times you see the question about erratic idle. Cheers mate.
  3. My mates call it "the pursuit car".
  4. Ok, so we all have read a thousand threads about un-even tickover etc but please bare with me on this one. I have a new PTU (series 2 type) have had throttle pos sensor sorted, cleaned throttle bodies a month ago, but all of a sudden my revs are going nuts. On start up they go straight up to over 2000, this does die down but on slight acceleration, the revs seem to dip first before increasing, causing occasionally to stall and then tricky to start again. At the back of the engine (near dash) on rhs there are the connectors that I have been told control the revs when air-con is on. This is pretty f*cked, could this be my prob? Its very tricky to get to to take on and off. Is there one thing in particular I need to double check? I have ignored the aac valve up to now but could this be a poss cause? Another thing is when cold, the accelerator hardly feels as if its connected unless I depress it about half way down and then it kinds of bursts into life. Kind of an "air" thing maybe? Thanks for your help & HAPPY NEW YEAR!
  5. Jesus man. Looks like its been fired from a catapult! :D

  7. Cheers mate, nice one. You and everyone else have an excellent xmas too and a lucky 2003. Take it easy.
  8. Oh forgot, went to Mexico couple of years ago. Followed the Inca trail and all that, would recommend Mexico to anyone-it has everything you could want there, for whatever type of holiday you wanted.
  9. The curry I had last night has "exposed a weakness in MY rear end!" I had a similar kind of feeling on fast cornering and it turned out to be (don't know what its called) something like a cv joint on rear nearside wheel was totally shot. The part I need is actually on back order from Nissan but I'm certain this will tighten my rear right up.........thank goodness! James.
  10. Planning a 4 week surfing trip to Sri Lanka in Feb or March. Only thing is I had more plans for the Z that will have to wait till funds allow! Did you brings back any Z goodies from Japan?

  13. New one now, following your "CHRISTMAS" trend Stuart! When my car is totally finished, I will use a photo of that and stick with it.
  14. Thanks Stu, I'll give it a go.
  15. How do I change the size of it? not too clued up when it comes to this kinda stuff!
  16. From my own experience they just crumbled to bits, replacement seemed the only way to go! Had a few blasts at this and then handed it over to the pro's as some bits were just sooo fiddley and I was getting the hump!
  17. Wanted to use this one but too large............... ............and no-one is allowed to nick it! How can I bribe Craig to put it on for me?????
  18. Hiya mate. Its a bit of a thing for me -the wiring under the bonnet of my Z. Have done nearly everything on your little list there and was impressed with the results. The car feels alot crisper, idle's better and generally drives nicer. Go for it-you won't be disappointed. The under bonnet temp does make all those little clips and switches very brittle, like everyone you try to take off, falls to bits, good luck. James. :D
  19. Are you serious? can I get into trouble?
