another dead f****** zed
They can check ignition and fuel? on a 300? would they know how to then?

Zedworld any good
Yes-of course, and I wasn't belittling what happened. I'm sure it is still fresh in your mind-just glad you all came off unhurt. Didn't want another war to break out thats all-seems like its only JUST kind of calmed down since last time. It should be mentioned if the subject comes up -its the arguements about what and how it happened we don't need again. James.

Zedworld any good

Zedworld any good
I have used Jeff a few times now and have been more than pleased with what he's done for me. From my own experience he goes that little bit further than you might expect "these days". But as for a post that asks the specific question of what "we" think of him, you gotta expect good AND bad, and I wouldn't want it any other way for me to make my mind up. James.

Yeah-there are a few around but I think its quite a good choice. I would go for n/a power over turbo, still love my Z to bits though!! Good luck with you German choice.

Done TPS volt test........
Thanks for that. So will divert my attention away from the TPS. Bloody hell -didn't touch anything else! but will go round the usual points in detail, I'm thinking PTU connections (cos got new PTU 2nd edition) or one of the coils. I must have disturbed something without realising. Will also run ECU diag. Cheers.

more trivial truths
An Essex girl is out driving one day when her car skids at a roundabout and hits the vehicle in front. An ambulance is called and a paramedic quickly arrives. "What's your name love?" he asks. "Sharon," she replies. Looking around, the medic sees alot of blood. "Sharon," he asks, "where are you bleeding from?" "Romford." she replies.

Ok, so can't find my Top Tips book but here are some jokes.... A middle-aged lady is shopping in a supermarket when she notices a handsome young man bagging up shopping at one of the check-outs. Making sure she goes through his line, she leans over & asks if he'll carry her groceries out to the car park. "Sure, lady," he replies cheerfully. But no sooner are they out of the store, when she beckons him closer. "You know," she whispers seductively, "I have an itchy pussy." "Well, you'll have to point it out to me, maam," he replies. "All those Japanese cars look alike."

Done TPS volt test........
What a wind-up !! No, not hunting, revs are even but just not on all 6 cyl. I have slackened off cable already. Will do diag next. On one of the starts just then I noticed the "POWER" light on dash flashed about half a dozen times !!??? hasn't done it again. Sorry to keep on but just winding me up as was running perfect before! and I just can't see the connection between missing a cyl and the TPS? Thanks...

Done TPS volt test........
Tried to start the Z again and did fire up but not on all cylinders. Took the reading from the TPS 0.5v low to only 3.6v high, how important are those extra .4 volts to make it to 4? It will start every time now but seriously lumpy. Next step to do the ecu diag?? haven't done one before but sounds straight forward.

fuel filter...again
Yeah-I saw the slots, and did mark up the position with a pen but sounds like a tiny movement throws it out. Thanks again.

fuel filter...again
Just looked at the link to adjust TPS voltage, it says to loosen the screws then turn the TPS clockwise until you get the desired reading and then tighten screws. Wouldn't then turning the unit back to allow the screws to be done up- just set it back again?

fuel filter...again
Cheers Tony, it was r/h/s I tinkered with but think it is the TPS and will be back on it in the morning. Thanks everyone.

fuel filter...again
No, not yet, my sunday dinner has called me, and it is very dark and cold now. Will be out first thing in the morning! Thanks for your suggestions -any others will be appreciated! James. (there's a roast potato in it for you!)

fuel filter...again
It turns over but doesn't fire up. I didn't touch the relay, just took off all the pipes and replaced with new. It is def on right way round. With regards to the TPS I took it completely off, looked at it and put it on again! Also tightened up the slack on the r/h/s throttle cable cable-why are there 2? one for each throttle body maybe? I am guessing, have I "in-balanced" them? Can you please give me a magic answer that will make it all better again !!! :D :) :p not:mad: Tinky-yeah can hear it like normal.

fuel filter...again
Thanks......... have tried getting it started alot of times now but still no joy........ bloody hell, getting annoyed now. 6:25 tried it again! really getting p1ssed off now. -that lovely saying "if it ain't broke......"

Save the expense of a gravel drive by glueing rice crispies to your tyres thus giving you that same sound as you pull up outside your stately home.

fuel filter...again
Tony-domed end facing the front ??? are you sure? Looking at it I don't think it would sit right that way round within the bracket. I think Stuart is right. And on the flat part it says "OUT" and that would be pointing away from the engine. You're right I should have gone surfing but its flat this weekend. Shall I drop your stuff in the post or were you planning to go to Lakeside meet? James.

fuel filter...again
Ok, so changed filter, stupidly didn'y pay attention to which way round it was. Domed end facing the battery? The flow going towards the engine? Its just that car won't start now, is it commonly tricky to start again after replacing filter? Oh, also took off TPS just to have a look. And tightened up the throttle cable as it seemed a but slack. Any idea's? I'm hoping its just taking a while for the fuel to get back through but thought that would be pretty instant. Thanks....
