  1. i aslo get a tad of black smoke from mine, even when normal temp, i read on a site about the gurgley things in the wheel arches AIV's??? not sure what there called, but apparently the ecu overfules by 7% so this could be why i get shitty gas mileage and a bit of smoke
  2. past present and future classics when u think the z32 was designed in the late 80's its amazing how brave and far ahead a design it was, amongst all the shapeless wedges that were around at the time. just glad they didnt join the trend and go with pop up headlights,
  3. just a 99 spec front bumper planned for, i like the way nissan intended it to be
  4. K.I.T.T. was always black the new K.I.F.T. knight industries four thousand was a red firebird aparently
  5. Nah black is for Michael Knight wannabes
  6. usually 40's on the front and 35's with 18 inchers.
  7. would it be wise to do both hoses, or just the one on the left
  8. thanks for all the help, its reasuring its not to big a job, i take it your on about rubber hoses rather than the alloy ones, the two big fat ones that joing these at the front are fine, is there smaller hose were i cant see under the cam cover, my might is a good mechanic and works for mandellas so i'd let him do it in his own time rather than pay there prices.
  9. if its any help the water had sprayed just behind where the arrow is pointing in this picture whre the 2 alloy pipes go under the cam cover, ill try get it looked at but theres not many specialist garages around here, zedworld is quite a treck and as u say its not worth blowing something up, the oil seems find and its not loosing water unless its hot.
  10. sounds dumb but where is that located in the engine bay
  11. well cars been happily running sweet since october 2002, bit of a power steering leak but nothing major, today however on the way to work the temp guage was hapily sat on halfway as per usual then sudden rockets up towares H and steam coming out the bonnet at the traffic lights, i got to work 2 minutes from when steam appeared so just coasted there, flips bonnet and getting this hissing sound coming from were the 2 water pipes go into the block, couldnt see it leaking as the cam cover protrudes over the pipes, but rusty water (not alot tho) had sprayed around that area just behind coolant temp sensors, is there a gasket where the alloy pipes join the block, well i filled it up with water took 5 liters at dinner time, comes out of work and none had leaked on to the floor, drove home and temp stayed centre all the way, pulls up, lifts bonnet and i can hear the same hissing from the same area but cant see steam or water, i have notice the water filler on the radiator seems to have a rusty residue on it when topping it up but heater works so i take it water is ciculating, i just cant see where its hissing from are the alloy pipes cast to the block or mated with a gasket, any help appreciated, is it safe to drive solong as i keep it topped up

  15. i think colour is the least of your worries, just make sure u get a good one with a decent engine box turbos etc, painting the car is much cheaper than an engine rebuild, mine is red and has suffered a little fading, i gave it a polish at the weekend, and its coming up nice, a few more and should be able to see my face in it :D
  16. just out of intrest why is it a 99 spec bumper when i thought productin ceased in 96,
  17. its a small, off-duty Czechoslovakian traffic warden
  18. i dont think it revs any higher, just doesnt change up to 4th so car is more drivable, u get more engine breaking and it doesnt have to change down cos your in a lower gear, with overdrive on mine seems to change up to second about 30 then if i ease of in 2nd it will change up two gears quite quickly so u can tootle along at 40 in top gear thus saving gas, if u do deside to floor it it changes down and the power light comes on (jap only) and u can take it all the way round to 7200 thru all the gears :D
