  2. er what geography lessons did u skip at school, algarve is portugal, they speek portuguese and portugal is the 2nd poorest country in the EU, when i went to albufarer or summat a 1 litre botttle of beer was 40p from suparmaket, no more than 1.20 in pubs, admitadley this was 4 years ago, proves that euros is pants i think

  7. my passenger side door wasnt clicking the door sensor off and i had the same prob, if i drove it every day it was fine, if i left it a day with out driving , flat battery no start. so yeah i guess it could cause it

hi, have a look at the faq sections, and links pages for some very good info on buying guides, jap v uk diference, series revisions etc. theres also how to do's insurance co. etc in there. hth
  10. this can also happen if your ambient temp sensor is dodgy, sometimes mine reads -86 or wrong temps, so obviously aint gonna blow cold air if it thinks its less than 0 degrees. a swift kick to the bumper usually sorts it out.
  11. old cars do go wrong, i knew when i bought my zed it would take up all my money and it does, i bought mine off a friend who took it in part ex, i got a thourough check over even tho it was a mate, lookily its running ok, but things will fail, it 13 years old, and incredibly complex. eletrics wise. my advice would be to consider what costs you put into it so far, how much its gonna cost to repair. and what u get for it selling it and buying another one, but if u do that u could end up in the same boat. if your thinking of keeping this car for a good few years then spend money on it. at least u have peice of mind then.

best way to defrag is press f8 on start up before the win logo appears and choose safe mode, this way nothing can interfere with the drive etc. windows tends to keep writing to the drive in normal mode, especially if u have a single partition.

  15. ive had a 40 and a 60 ibm run for 2 years no probs contstant hammer, when i worked in the pooter shop maxtor seemed to have a pretty high return rate, ibm did get some problematic drives which tendered to suffer from heat and fail, mines got a fan which blows over them. i would go with seagate or ibm
  16. if it sounded like stones in a tin can it could be detonation,

  20. yep same here, but only on drivers side. sounds really bad when u should the door with the window down, its going in for a paint next week so will strip the door down and have a look
  21. i seem to have to top my water up on a weekly basis just lately it doesnt appear to be leaking to the road anywhere so where is it going. the oil seems pretty normal, no white sludge or anything, power seems normal also, it has always seemed to run a tad rich, and get crappy mpg, the heater works and it doesnt overheat or anything, i do get the normal white vapour on start up which can turn to darker colour which indicates the rich running i presume. ive done a seach and rad that pcv and fuel daigphram might help, but it doesnt explain where the waters going.
  22. not sure of the number but there cheaper from z centre than main dealers
