  1. Ok start of a new year start of a new credit card!!!!!! So far i have: Lightened Flywheel Underdrive Pulley RPS sport clutch Lowered and slightly harder springs/ new rear shocks Apexi Filter Mongoose Exhaust Greddy Profec B II spec and upgraded ECU Taken out that heavy bit in the boot lid ;o) What next???? Thinking of de-catting but want to make sure i have enough for new tubs if they then suddenly fail...... What turbos can i buy that will give a little more power without me having to go for forged pistons etc...... Is there anything else i can do to increase power/acceleration??????? It's a '93 UK TT buy the way..... Cheers
  2. Can't believe how many people this happens too! Self employment does seem the way forward......
  3. Just been made redundant....... Bad news is i leave this Friday......good news is i will be paid x5 months wages...... Thinking of changing direction as been working in Soho for various post production facilities and ended up as production manager for a film trailer company.... Now considering cabinet making i know it's different but i'm 40 soon and bored of working for other people, rather do somethingmore satisfying and for myself.....

  5. I've noticed recently the exhaust has been a little more smelly than usual, nothing too strong and no smoke but do i need to adjust anything of have some sort of service? Car has now done 90k miles and i've had it for the last 20k always chaning the oil every 2k miles and new plugs at 70k miles...... Always clean the TB's and squirt carb cleaner in that "other" pipe by the battery once a month.....anything else i should do?
  6. Thanks guys for all your help and tips/advice as fitted two struts to the rear and new springs all round. The pain in the arse was using the spring compressors ***k me they take ages to use......unless you've got a compressed air socket set of course! Haven't really tried it yet but with the new Eibach's it sits lower and feels better on steering and harder on handling. Roll on the next upgrade???????
  7. And try cleaning the terminals in the TPS that was always the same problem with mine....for no reason the revs would rise to 1500 then 2000 then drop again, everytime i cleaned the terminals it stoppped
  8. Great, i'll get the TCP ready for the weekend then. Anyone got any tips be sure and let me know? Cheers
  9. Sounds good i'll jack up the back and put both sides on axle stands then do the same on the front, just not looking forward to finding any seized nuts anywhere half way through the job.........!
  10. Half a day for all sides? I'll give it a go this weekend then. Do Halfords sell spring compressors?
  11. FUBAR i forget???? How long am i talking a day's work? Not too worried by the rears, will need to remove/bleed the brakes on all four sides?
  12. Any advice on fitting rear struts and springs and front springs. Money's really tight and i've just been handed my notice at work so may have a go at this myself. I guess i'll need some spring compressors but what's the story with fitting the new struts will these still work with the handbrake device???? Thanks
  13. Anyone ever changed their springs and rear suspension? Really tight for money so thinking of a DIY job. Already taken out all the rear plastic in the boot so i just need to change the rear struts and springs and the front springs. Think i might need a spring compressor but not sure. Also the struts are OEM so will they still work with the rear one click stiffen rear hand brake nonsense? Cheers Alex
  14. I now have x4 new Eibach springs and two new rear shocks to go on the car. Before i do i think i need some suspension bushes but don't want to add to much to the cost of changes the rears. What kits are available and at what costs? Cheers
  15. Looking at picking up some Eibach springs from Smithy. Only want to lower the car a little and stiffen it up a bit........ Are these the best to go for? Ta
  16. To be honest i was driving to the motor show on Saturday the weather was warm heat was up to 3/4 fan coming on and still drove ok but i think it did loose a psi or two.....drives better at night when it's cooler
  17. How much are the KYB AGX shocks??????
  18. Think i've decided on Eibach springs lowering the car a little and stiffening up by 25% as i don't want rock hard ride and too low... Anyone else got any ideas? Oh yes and budget wise this suites me very well!!!!!
  19. Anyone know who does the best braided brake lines????? And ones that actually fit, i've heard some of the connections don't always.....
  20. Could be i'll have a proper look at the weekend.....
  21. Don't think it's pcv's as the slight smoke was coming from the front right just under the drivers door???????
  22. I think one of my turbos is leaking oil therefore want to start saving up for two new ones..... Is there something i can replace which will be better and quicker than standard or even a little more boost without having to start changing anything else to strengthen any other engine parts. Costs too would be good thanks........
  23. Good tip about the bottom bolt! Cheers Jaffa
