  1. Hi Si, If you have speakers in standard holes then they will sound pants in the back..... The front holes can be used for some decent uprated speakers with good top end, mid and mid bass...... The rears are small oval ones and you will get top end and mid..... they are quite simply too small for any bass.... so it will sound like something is missing.... your best bet is to remove the sub and make covered panels either side with 6x9 speakers in them..... you can hide them behind the cloth..... No speakers on show.... A 4 way Amplifier to power the front door speakers and 6x9's and you can get a decent sound..... you could even leave the rear speakers in situ and use them for top end and midrange powered from the head unit..... The boxes for 6x9 could be quite small and covered so you can't see the speakers and look as stock as possible.... Only my 2p worth..... I could do some designs if you want? Russ
  2. I was told by the nice policeman that it was over 170 and we both ran out of road........lol
  3. ROFL.... Better not tell the father in law that......

  7. I agree sounds like rubbing metal.............
  8. Can we sneak round to Si's and fit them while he sleeps????...........:scared:
  9. I told you it is best to get advice from the peeps on the forum.....lol I had a chat with a fitter mate of mine who just said he recommends what the shop sells..... clifford and toad......lol But as he said the alarm is only as good as the person who fits it...... which I completely agree with.... You can even add a microwave sensor (covers convertibles with roof down) as Securicar said to both clifford and Toad..... you can also add tracking units, window lift modules, remote starting, pagers, etc.... Just make sure when you do get it fitted that you get a fitting certificate for your insurance, signed and stamped by fitting company...... I personally wouldn't go turbo timer route.... I Read that it is better to let the engine cool down driving last few miles home with less accelerator as idling can make engine hotter as there is no air flow cooling the radiator, oil cooler or intercoolers..... Only my opinion, but hope it helps.... Russ
  10. A quick look at reviews and it looks like Viper are a make with good reliability and functions??? I will speak to fitters later today..... Russ
  11. I used to fit cliffords years ago..... well about 13 years ago..... and they were a bit..... well..... temperamental..... sometimes.....lol No idea what newer ones are like...... Best to ask on a car audio / security forum and see what people recommend..... fitters that deal with various brands are usually the best resource as they see the failings of all makes and can give you the pro's and con's of all manufacturers.... I have had toad, clifford, waso, serpistar, GT and a few other makes...... toad were probably the most reliable one that I had...... Clifford has the gadgets...... Also talk to other Z owners and see what they have and any issues they have come up with..... I will speak to a couple of fitters I still see and find out what they recommend on todays market.... Russ
  12. Now I know where you live..... 'somewhere you can leave your car unlocked'.....you live in a cave......gotta be.......'BEDROCK'........???

  15. Well did the threadlock and they are in there SOLID.......lol Thanks for that znut....... done and on with next pita job...... replacing the oil cooler pipes from engine to the hard pipes with engine in the car.......lol
  16. Anyone got any ideas on the restrictor in the oil lines????? Or what vacuum pipe to buy to use for the actuators? And how to change the oil cooler hoses without removing the steering rack?
  17. I was joking about the cross dressing earlier..........lol
  18. Hi rolandas, I'm hoping to get all the pipes in by tomorrow..... just leaving the plenum to be put back........ Thanks for the offer...... Loads of pipes to connect up and need to work out what can be thrown away and what I need to connect up......lol All the deletes done, but now trying to work out what goes where..... having to look for diagrams and pictures....lol This is the problem with doing the conversion and deletes at the same time.....
  19. they only go that way round......??? I have been using this info to fit it all..... http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/forums/general/view/2362327/3D-intercooler-piping-pics-FAQ-repost-with-active-pics-gtgtgt.html
  20. This is the mounting point that I have nothing to attach it to.....?
  21. Well today I went to fit the hard pipes for the oil cooler and realised the hoses that go from the oil tree and the return one to the sump have been cut...... Obviously the person who supplied the engine decided to cut the ends off the hoses rather than undo the clamps.... Has anyone got some tips for replacing them? I can't get to the oil tree one as the steering rack and engine mount are in the way..... Also, which pipe has the restrictor in it? Is it the 2 pipes from the engine to the hard lines or the 2 pipes from the hard lines to the oil cooler? Can I fit braided hoses instead and lose the standard lines with the restrictor or do I need to use the old hoses?? The 2 intercooler pipes that run down and out under the inner wings....... What are they fixed to? I am doing a N/A to TT conversion and the pipes are now in place...... but nowhere to bolt the mounting bracket on the pipe to.... is there some missing brackets? What is the best vacuum pipe to use for the actuators? I had some silicone and went to fit it........ but.... err.... it is crap...... mushy rubbish that fell apart as soon as I tried to clamp it with a hose clamp..... I need to get something as I have nothing to use that is the right diameter..... silicone, rubber, braided????? Cheers....
  22. How do you know z32bolt isn't a skilled cross dressing style guru and has just the right skills for your dilemma ????...........lol If not then I bet Trev is handy with a rifle to sort out those bad customer service types.......lol I am good at writing complaint letters to companies and getting results..... well........ eventually.......... sometimes........ well I don't give up, like a dog with a bone me........lol I hate banks, satellite tv suppliers, phone companies, gas and electric companies, benefit agencies and worst of all debt collection agencies........lol
  23. Maybe a friendly garage owner would get it for you and say you just bought the car........??
  24. Oh mate....... Sounds like you are not having a good time... I can't believe the school didn't call an ambulance and made him walk on it...... How do you fall over and do that much damage? I would be making a serious complaint..... Looks like he needs lots of DVD's, games and reading material for his birthday...... If there's anything you need just ask..... Not sure what I can do..... ? Loads of TLC and things he can do sitting down resting......
