If i remember there is an adjustment bolt that tensions the belt from the back..... I will go and dig it out of the box it is hiding in and get a picture.....lol

I finally Insured her ............. after 7 years off the road the MOT is days away, followed by taxation if she passes...... starting to panic and need to double check everything before the MOT..... Done lights, washers, wipers, seat belts, tyres...... The brake discs look rusty but hoping they clean up under a bit of driving and light braking on the way to the test station..... lol I am literally grinning now......... lol

Well today I went to pick up a front bumper donated to the ' get rid of the veilside bodykit ' fund...... lol Neil shortz has sponsored the oem front bumper replacement and kindly spent some time with me making me realise how I need to get my Z back on the road.... I got to follow him for a while in his Z and just wished I was in mine as well instead of my daily driver..... lol I wanted to thank Neil for allowing me to waffle on for so long and help me out so much........ I did manage to solder on an injector connector for him, but didn't come close to repaying his kindness and help..... I also got to have a look at another members Z with starting issues but couldn't do enough to get her going.... hopefully someone with more knowledge than me can get to the root of the problem. All I could tell was she tried to fire and smelt badly of fuel..... I was told that the MAF had been swapped previously and okay, CAS swapped and okay, connections all seemed good, compression had been tested as low on the left bank..... The Car had been running but on what appeared to be safety boost, but seemed okay..... next day wouldn't fire up..... Spark is there, fuel is there..... I was wondering about belt slipped a couple of teeth putting out the cams on one side causing low compression and timing out? I am guessing at causes, but tested a relay that had a similar effect on mine when I got her..... There was only 0.5v on the switching instead of 12v.... but this returned to 12v suddenly..... There is an old alarm that could have an immobiliser built in, but it was disconnected when she ran previously.... so shouldn't be that..... Anyway hopefully it will be heading to specialist Z mechanic sometime soon....... Thanks again Neil and nice to see you again........ Great club spirit from another member........ Russ

Hi Anthony, I am not surprised you've had fun looking at those diagrams...... not exactly easy to read unless you have experience fitting alarms..... How comes you didn't go for an insurance approved alarm installed professionally to get some insurance discount? Securicar knows what he is doing and is a top guy...... he will be able to sort it for you...... great club spirit....:thumbup1: Hope it all gets sorted soon...... Terry..... Thanks Gary.... Don't get me wrong, I still love the kit and would love to keep her on my Z and store her in a garage somewhere for the future..... But I can't afford another Z, currently have no garage that I can get a car into and am getting old and looking at the stock look and liking it more and more...... lol I would love a 2nd Z, so I can strip it and start from a bare shell and go to town on a proper restoration project..... I was thinking for getting the bodykit stored in my loft and then digging it out in 20 years.......lol..... might be rare and worth some money then......lol Funky Si might even like them by then........:tt2:.....lol

Wow that used to look nice Si ..... I prefer the old wheels and colour...... I am leaning toward the midnight Purple....... but still like the AX8 Brickyard, but I think it will be a bit dull looking in the UK weather ..... I am going to go and talk to the guy who sprayed my car last time and get a quote for spraying it if I do all the stripping and most of the prep work for him....... just need to get hold of front and rear bumpers, fog lights, tailgate panel that is missing under my boot spoiler, oem style boot spoiler, and some way to cover the sill damage when I remove my side skirts as they are covering some accident damage from years ago...... Oh and new set of alloy wheels...... Lotto ticket time ........ lol

That is lovely looking...... I would love to have the time and money to get mine to that level...... but life is getting in the way of me ever getting my Z finished or even nearly finished.... lol

Well today I carbon wrapped more of the car..... lol I wrapped the front pillars either side of the windscreen as the top coat has gone and there are millions of bubbles in the remaining paint..... so cover up till I have saved enough for respray without the wife noticing I am squirrelling away money each month.....lol It's either the Z or new double glazing and the windows aren't going to rot away like my Z will..... lol But nobody tell her or I am dead meat..... lol I also managed to replace side marker 501 bulb and one of the stop and tail bulbs ready for the MOT..... Next was to clean out and Adjust the washer jets, replace the pipe that connects the rear washer jet to the body..... a pig to get to..... I am going to fill her up with fresh super unleaded tomorrow and want to run an injection system cleaner through her...... any recommendations..... I was going redex....???
