Hi Lymon..... I had another go at the Consult1 I have and have also replaced the internal backup battery and used a 4 cell holder for AA rechargeables...... I get the power on tune holding the 2 top squares.... descending notes.... I also get the error 200 message...... I have checked the voltage of the AA batteries, tried rechargeable as well as new Duracell batteries and still the same error code.... It appears to be seeing a low voltage even when there is not one..... I have also given the circuit boards a reworking with heat station in case of dry solder joint..... still no joy..... Getting annoying now..... lol Any idea's ??? Thanks... Russ

Yep...... threw it in and she started first time....... lol Right well have loads of time to do this as I resigned from work today......... so now unemployed....... but able to work full time on the Z for the moment....... till the wife notices..... lol I took her out for a spin after fitting the BCR8ES plugs, replacing the o'rings on balance bar and she now stalls hot and cold when I pull up to a stop at junctions or revs drop...... bloody nightmare now.....

Mine powers up but just says error code 200........ incorrect power apparently...... But I built a new power pack for it and am supplying the correct voltage..... So need to have another look when I have time.... What do you need to know bnr34...? The only manuals will be on ebay if you can find one .... I spoke to Nissan uk and they couldn't help..... If you decide to sell it then let me know..... I may be able to get one working out of the 2......... lol

Right then Stephen...... boost leak test coming up........ after the gas leak test...... What else should I check.....??....... Oxygen sensors??...... ECU coolant temp sensor?? Timing....?? Thanks for that Stephen..... have so much going on at the moment that I can't think straight........ Got idea of best order to do tests in???

I was shocked Stephen that it was that good to be honest as I was half expecting them to be lower..... Next I will be getting someone to check the radiator with a gas leak tester to see if it is head gasket..... Right, the platinum plugs were sooty black, round edge and around the electrodes.... so have gone with what Noel said in another thread and used BCR8ES set at 0.9mm........ I have also replaced the O'rings on the balance bar with nice new ones....... and had a look for any vacuum leaks while I was there...... I will be cleaning the coil packs connectors in the next few days as they are a touch green.....

Well got some weird results..... Back of engine...... Drivers side Passenger side 6 = 172...../.....3 = 162 5 = 170...../.....2 = 162 4 = 162...../.....1 = 162 Front of engine....... Cylinder 6 was at 180 as it was first one I tested cylinder 5 was at 172 second one tested...... I went back after testing passenger side bank just to be sure and they came out as above, a bit lower...... haven't used tester in a while so retested to make sure nothing was wrong with it...... Worried as the rears are so high on cylinders 5 & 6 ???? Worrying now after Stephens nightmare with NA engine why they are reading so high and what pistons are in there........ am I just panicking??

I am asking a big ask I know...... But hoping someone is getting rid of a TT engine or just the bottom end.....:helpsmilie: I am trying to get hold of the parts to rebuild a TT bottom end...... OEM...... just solid and reliable....... I did have 2 spare blocks, but they were taken by some lovely scrap collectors while I was indoors making coffee a few years ago..... Taken off my driveway and they dove off as I came out to take them to be cleaned and checked..... I believe my head gasket is leaking on my current engine and won't last too much longer, so I wanted to get a jump on building a reliable replacement if anyone can help? If anyone has an old one they don't want or would like to donate to a worthy cause???.......:big grin:..... lol Or a cheap one that I could afford to buy?? I have someone to machine if necessary........ Thanks.......

Haven't had time to flush it fully, but have found the pipes from heater matrix are luke warm and not hot (running temp ) like the radiator is getting..... guessing it is blocked heater matrix for the heating being cold..... going to flush when picked up my boys....... Can't be thermostat as radiator is getting hot.........

Right........ weird things happening now..... Wife took daily driver to work today...... since she passed her test there is no stopping her...... lol I had to use the Z to do nursery and school run....... Checked water and it was low again...... filled her up and got some of the frothy muck out with fresh water...... Did the run and found her to be missing and lumpy till she warmed up........ was drivable but tick over was all over the place and dropping cylinders by the sound of it..... She warmed up and I actually have a warm/hot radiator and pipes...... something I didn't have yesterday after an even longer trip..... Checked oil cap and NO muck or white stuff, just cleanish oil that looks how it should do and smooth on the fingers...... Can't see any sign of water pipes leaking anywhere behind or side of engine, turbo's, etc........ By the time I returned home there was no missing and is pulling okay, but not how I feel she should....... Floor her on boost and she pulls but feels like she is lacking that turbo kick............ Hard to explain...... but that feeling you have when you know your own car and it doesn't feel right........ Going to get my telephone job interview over and done at 10am...... then have a check, flush, compression test, etc...... Oh and found Victor Reinz supply Mahle with their head gaskets and can get a pair delivered for only £67.25 inc delivery in 2-3 days.......

Can you make that a 2 off please........ lol

Hmmmmm... I am going to take a guess at £9500 as a first car........... ROFL........ Sorry..... not constructive of me...... If not a daily driver could try classic insurance??? Or have a black box fitted to monitor how he drives???
