Your clubs needs you (and your ideas!)
This may sound really stooopid....... But is there any way we could have a technical meet and have an experienced Z specialist run through basic work on a Z.....? Like boost leak testing, setting up timing, diff oil change, electrics, etc...... ???? The usual things that have wear and tear and we would all like to know how to do properly..... I would personally like to see family orientated events, so I can bring my wife and kids (Beaulieu)...... As well as a few shows I can attend without the wife and kids (Santapod, Trax)..... a bit of a mix...... lol JAE...... JAE was really good due to the people who attended....... It would be nice to have a board up with pictures of the people who attend with their forum name and their real names to help newcomers...... The marquee needed banners or something letting everyone know who we are.... the flag things are good, but felt a little drowned out by all the other clubs almost shouting who they were with loads of advertising up........ I noticed other clubs brought bean bags and even sofa's for the evening get togethers...... and all seemed to have music on the go with a fire of some sort....... could we have a fire pit and music??? I enjoyed the film we watched.....'Rush'....... the company and even more so that someone remaining nameless managed to put the projector upside-down.......... lol Are we going for drinks, music, lights and night out orstaying in with a Film, chatting, a few bevies, glass of wine, tea coffee??? We could do both with a film earlier, followed by music and lights in the tent and a cosy seating area outside so people can sit round a fire and just chat......??? Only a few suggestions....

Electrical fault, lights reverting to high beam.
From what I saw in mine when I had lighting problems...... the black box had loads of dry solder joints on the soldering...... I gave it a make over and removed old solder and resoldered all the joints and cured my intermittent rear lights problem..... You could check and re solder the circuit to make sure all connections are good..... as long as you can solder okay...... I know that Jeff did a write up on targa drain pipes coming away from connector above the fuse box and making it all wet...... this causes lots of electrical gremlins and green connections.... ??? It could be a bulb gone dead short, a trapped wire shorting out, faulty dimmer switch, dash illumination faulty - short on back of speedo cluster, the main light switch faulty....... I have even seen someone replace a stop and tail light bulb with a single filament one that shorts both stop and tail connections together causing fuses to blow..... You haven't replaced any tail light bulbs recently with the wrong type? Multimeter out, set to resistance or ohms with buzzer setting....... remove 10a fuse that blows...... Test switch side of fuse holder between fuse holder and a good earth point. 1st with light switch in off position and then On position and see if it buzzes / reads a short..... Hard to fault find over internet...... lol Wish you were closer and I would break out my multimeter and have a look for you........

fog light switch
1) You would need to fit a diode into the main switch feed and change it to come from the side lights and not the permanent 12v supply............. this will mean the fogs only come on with front and rear lights on...... 2) You then need to just cut the feed wire (and insulate it) to the side lights that feeds them when the fog light switch is on. 3) You would need to install a switch, relay and fuse for the rear fog light circuit only. I think thats it...... a bit late and need sleep....... hope it helps.......

Hi Stephen, As you already know One of the first things visible internally is the difference in the TT and NA pistons....... The main visual difference would be the Pistons as far as I know..... so confirmation from a Nissan specialist on photos of the pistons confirming they are NA ones fitted to the engine?? TT pistons dip and NA ones have hump.... All you need to show is original Nissan part numbers on your pistons and the Nissan Fische part numbers proving they are NA ones.... A picture of an NA piston vs a TT one would help too.... Do you have a copy of the original ebay advert?

Lethal LED strips.....
Hi Graham, I'm just waiting for either fleabay or the seller to request me to pay postage back to Hong Kong..... I will be speaking to trading standards to warn them...... And won't be sending them back..... The only thing attached is the bridge rectifier they used...http://uk.farnell.com/multicomp/kbl405g/bridge-rectifier-4a-600v/dp/1621729 The strip has 2 lengths of wire carrying the 240v embedded in it either side of the LED strip, the resistors they used are on the strip..... So the wire running the full length of this is at 240v DC with no fuse..... so should it get cut or damaged it would expose this..........

Lethal LED strips.....
Hi everyone, I recently purchased a strip of LED's from ebay and accidentally ordered mains voltage ones to start with...... DOH But when they arrived they had:- 1) A euro 2 pin plug with no fuse....... Okay you can use an adapter! 2) A diode rectifier in a plastic box in the middle of the live wire....... The box fell off when picked up exposing all the live mains wiring...... Absolutely lethal.... 3) The connection to the LED strip is 2 metal pins pushed into the rubber sleeve.... These fall out of the sleeving exposing 2 sharp pins that if plugged in would be UNFUSED and LIVE........ I have emailed the fleabay seller and fleabay themselves as these need to be stopped before they get into the UK and kill someone.... Just a heads up for anyone contemplating christmas lights from outside the UK...........
