  1. There are 2 aerials on the Z........ one in rear screen and electric one on rear qtr......... 2 connectors behind oem head unit......... well mine does......... lol....... And neither give me a signal...........lol
  2. I would but the bunged up nose and cold is stopping me at the mo.......lol I will check to see if there is any coolant pipes leaking. I have done all deletes under plenum and used silicone hoses to replace pipes directly from turbo's to back of heads........ So will check connections and remaining pipe work...... Replaced water pump about June time and had similar muck then..... but seemed to flush out of system for a while....... Going to flush the coolant system fully tomorrow and see what happens, including flushing the heater matrix thoroughly...... I might even try to check the thermostat while I am at it.......... Anything I can use to clean coolant system....... ???? Thanks for that advice......
  3. I did think about Fel-Pro and Victor Reinz, who seem to be very good quality...... I used Fel-Pro on a high powered RS turbo series 1 build I did when I was a bit younger...... and had great results.... but wasn't a Z...... Last night I found the Victor Reinz brand and have seen some very good feedback on them as being well made, great quality and very reliable...... What sort of price do OEM HG's go for????
  4. Hi Gary, if you could get it cleaned please as I appreciate the help and advice that most gave me........ I don't mind heathy discussion and banter...... but not this...... I appreciate advice, information and help offered by all members on the forum as there are so many people that have helped me since joining...... Thanks.... Russ
  5. I go to work for a day after posting this "please help and advise me" thread and find this lot on my return............ Thank you for all the professional and experienced choices and information offered for me to chew over......... I shall be listening to the rather large consensus that OEM is the best and most reliable option for my non uprated rebuild......... Thank you for your time and expertise ..... NOZ, Mark Derby, Stephen, AndrewG, FunkySi, everyone who has contributed to this interesting discussion..... I am a bit peeved that my request for help seems to have turned into a dig at Noel for his time and effort to advise an owner who asked for help and advice....... I Never usually say anything and try to stay impartial........ but I have found some of the comments made on here.... well..... I feel..... out of order and cheap shots.... such as "shut it"......... Please could a mod close this thread as I shall directly PM any specialist, experienced and respected Z tuners, builders and owners directly for help.......... Thank you again to everyone who has offered constructive advice and support.........
  6. I read somewhere recently that they are not as good as they are made out to be........??
  7. Thanks Noel.... I will see if I can get price from my old work for some OEM ones tomorrow..... Just looked at reviews and found a company called Victor Reinz who do the gaskets and have very good feedback on their products..... They are rated well and compared to fel-pro who I have used in the past..... Has anyone ever heard of them?
  8. Well I took her out yesterday for a spin and she was running a bit strangely....... didn't feel like she had any power when she had warmed up to running temp..... I bound a nice straight bit of quiet road and floored her....... felt like an NA with no kick from the turbo's at all..... I then noticed no heat from the vents.... well slightly warm but not hot like she usually is....... Temp gauge was at middle on stock gauge...... So carefully drove her home..... I left it till this morning and checked the radiator....... not much water in there and the same brown sludgy muck popped out when I filled her up as earlier in the year...... It looks like oil and water mix....... So need to get a tester to see if the head gaskets are done...... I feel sick now as I don't have any funds to sort this at all...... I will be flushing out the radiator and cooling system tomorrow or friday and hoping the alloy rad isn't blocked with the muck..... Then it is compression testing time and finally leak testing kit on the radiator to see if the head gasket has gone..... What is the best head gasket to get and anyone got an idea of how much they are????
  9. about £1.50........ can I buy it ???......:innocent:.......lol No Idea..... Noel is best person to talk to about what it's worth......
  10. If it is okay for me to put in my 2penny worth....... I personally would bite the bullet, refund in full and use it as a learning experience and change my website to avoid confusion with future customers...... Getting into a public disagreement can only hurt your business as it always puts off at least one potential future customer unfortunately...... as always seems to happen on any public forum... Isn't it better to be seen by all reading of someones experience to go the extra mile to make sure customers are satisfied?? Not meaning to upset anyone or fuel an argument here, just hoping that Mondo and Jose can sort this out amicably....... Maybe Mondo could sell the wrong part sold for Jose here in the UK to cover the shortfall? Whilst Jose could refund the cost of the delivery from the US? That way Mondo gets his refund, Jose gets his sale and there is no return postage costs to the US????? Only a suggestion......

  13. Well Nearly finished the Clear Lens LED rear light conversions....... Pics of lights nearly back together..... And a thank you to Mark Derby for sorting me out a replacement one, as one of them I bought from someone else on ebay arrived cracked...... Lots of polishing still to be done and some fettling on the marks left from opening them up ( heating up plastic and smoothing them off )...... Any advice on what polish to use on the clear lenses to get a nice finish??
  14. I used to have a 'Datsun Cherry' for removing people who parked over my driveway when i got home from work late..........lol I used to park it upto my drop kerb and push cars that parked across my driveway out of the way........ and trust me it was daily...... It was great........ cost me £50 with 6 months tax and MOT..... virtually no rust.... unusual for one of these....... Started first time....
  15. Hi David...... use Araldite............. forget superglue just isn't strong enough....... I think I actually used a hot glue gun on mine......

  19. Ahhh my ribs hurt..... Alan spelt it perfectly and Si had to google it...... Now there's a turn up for the books..... lol I can just see Si googling, thinking " what the f*ck is he trying to say now.... Oh, it's an acronym..... Bugger"..........lol And Alan at home going "Yes.... Yes.... Si had to google it!!!!".......
  20. You can only read it Alan as it looks like you wrote it............... only more legible ......... lol
  21. I must say art213..... that is a nice looking show girl you found there.......
  22. Broke down on way to meet art213......... spent 6 hours nursing her home, cold and tired....... Got a sudden misfire, then hunting, then stalling every time I stopped and had to rev up and dump into drive to get her to go anywhere..... She was holding back and going between 600 and 1200 rpm....... then was foot on throttle to keep her ticking over..... couldn't find any reason for her doing this..... Not good on an auto and going through the bloody dartford crossing with those bloody barriers........ Ended up with flat battery from all the starting..... I will check MAF, temp sensors, vacuum leaks, loose wiring tomorrow on the driveway with a coffee....... rather than cold roadside, no numbers to call to say I wouldn't be there for the meet.....lol Gutted, tired and peeeeed off......
  23. Hi RACCA, if you don't mind me asking, What do the RAC pay for a new patrol technician? As I am looking at a career change and looking at options..... Thanks... Russ
