1. I bled the brake system........ LR, RR, LF, RF, Front ABS, Rear ABS...... Going to redo again tomorrow as was melting in the heat today...... Just want to make sure ALL the old fluid is flushed through after being in there for 15 years.......lol I got the sequence from the manual....... but have found a different one on another site...... Left rear, right front, left front, right rear, ABS actuator front, ABS actuator rear?? I went by the manual as I can't see Nissan writing the manual wrong.....
2. Try these....... I just bought a few.........erherm........... well 50 to be precise......lol http://www.aliexpress.com/item/50x-for-Toyota-for-Nissan-for-Honda-for-Mitsubishi-Interior-Door-Card-And-Trim-Panel-Clip/32432208724.html?spm=2114.13010608.0.90.9MRpFs Also i think these are the rear boot lid trim clips.... I ordered some to try them... http://www.aliexpress.com/item/4mm-Hole-Plastic-Rivets-Fastener-Door-Push-Clips-Black-100-Pcs-for-Car/32677463295.html?spm=2114.13010608.0.75.9MRpFs Front inner wing trim clips........ http://www.aliexpress.com/item/50pcs-1362-8MM-Car-Plastic-Rivets-Door-Push-type-Fastener-Retainer-Clips-Black-Auto-Fastener-for/32670659718.html?spm=2114.13010608.0.57.9MRpFs
3. Well after all the work on brakes and suspension I realised while bleeding the callipers that the Master Cylinder moves a lot when I press the brake pedal...... So has anyone got a spare Master Cylinder Brace in their box of parts or stashed away somewhere??? Thanks Russ
4. Tonight Mathew........ I finished the N/S rebuild...... O/S tomorrow..... A few pictures...... Looks better in person...... lol Rear discs and handbrake shoes on the to buy asap list...... Damn Iphone........
5. As promised a picture of the newly painted brake callipers that I shall be fitting tomorrow evening..... They have Brand new shim kits and Brembo pads fitted as well...... I am unsure about the speed bleeders though as not sure if they are sealing or they are too short..... seems very close and not sure if I ran out of thread before they sealed......
6. I did cover mine with a good UV protecting breathable cover and had the car covered in micro blisters for my trouble. Whether or not it was the cover is debatable, but was resprayed fully in 2001 and suddenly got the blisters 10 years later after using the cover.... I personally will never use one again outside as I wouldn't want to risk it...... Building a garage is ow I intend to look after my Z..... Failing that I may rent a space to store her that is dry and has a good airflow...... Just my experience...... Russ
7. Well productive day today......All suspension now refitted!!! Brake discs all painted on venting and bell.... a nice satin black VHT....... Brake callipers are now in Carbon Foliatec and drying for the next 24 hours..... Goodridge hoses are all fitted and awaiting callipers and discs to be fitted.... Just need to fit the handbrake cables when I get some and I am ready to fire her up and see how the transmission goes..... or not?? Hopefully MOT by the end of the week?? Pictures to come tomorrow PM after I get home from work and get on with the next stage.....
8. I got the Rear Eccentric bolt that 'Stephen' sent me cleaned up and it came up very well........ Thank you Stephen for saving me bacon.... Good old Apple cider vinegar, emmersed for 3 - 4 days with daily agitation, the removed and brass wire brush on drill to remove any rust and pitting that vinegar didn't shift.... Before cleanup....
9. Are you sure that the Z you have fitted this to is actually a TT...................????....................... And not an NA???? Just putting it out there Baz...........
10. you haven't forgotten to tighten a hose to the intercooler, knocked one loose when grounding out, knocked of a vacuum hose from the actuators, recirc valves or to safety boost sensor....?? Check every pipe and hose clip you can find.....
11. And I wrapped the boot lid with a carbon effect film that flips from the same colour as the car to a gold colour...... This is to cover the boot and protect the old paint till she is taken for full respray..... I also finished stripping and painting every single component on the suspension, so all ready to rebuild her tomorrow..... Just need to strip N/S brake discs and callipers again and paint the discs black where the pads don't make contact and the callipers Carbon Grey....... So should be ready for bleeding the brake system through in next few days......
12. Welded up the O/S sill..... Oh, I did cut the rot out prior to welding her closed.....
13. I resemble that remark......... I am not a vulture.................... I am a buzzard I will have you know!!!!!!!
14. I would say 2nd Dibbs...... but my 2 boys would trash that lovely interior in 5 minutes...... and then I would have to sell the kids to a circus......
15. You haven't knocked the rear fog light on? If it is an import, they sometimes wire the fog light switch to the rear lights. This can cause them to come on when the rear fog light switch is turned on....... Have you got front sidelights on as well?
16. It looks like you forgot to fit the front tie bars and mountings as well.........:whistling:
17. Oh NO!..........Pat's got it....... lol
18. Waiting for mine too Lee........ I forgot to give Richie my address till Friday....... 'Yes' I am an idiot....... lol
19. Do the water pipe deletes........ while your at it...... gets rid of all hoses under the plenum that can crack and leak....... simplifies the hoses so they are more accessible..... Hope this helps... and welcome to the forum........ http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/forums/technical/view/880107/Plenum-Pull-and-Water-Hose-Bypass-Procedure-(Please-VTF).html
20. Todays work........ got in early at 6am and finished in my lunch break...... in all about 2 hours of wire brushing and painting........ :innocent: I also painted the shocks..... but no pics, and all the wheel arches are now cleaned and painted satin black........ lol I have been a bit busy! All I have left to do is media blast the O/S front leg, sand it smooth where the corrosion has left pitting, rust treat with zinc primer and then spray it..... should be done thursday evening.... Hopefully paint all the callipers tonight with the foliatec calliper paint I got...... still unsure of the carbon colour though with body colour and satin black suspension setup... it matches the new brake lines though... Then reassemble all the suspension on weekend and bleed the brakes fully...... oh and I have fitted goodridge speed bleeders all round to make it easier.... Oh and I forgot, change the track rod end, ball joint boots...... for ones that aren't in bits...... lol
21. Good God Richie.......... what you stopping with those? A Boeing 747...... They look soooooo nice...... You are going to be stopping and getting rear ended if your not careful......
22. Hi mate, yes M12 x 1.25 thread..... they are nuts not bolts..... these are a few on offer on ebay.... 23. Hi I am after either just a O/S rear handbrake cable to replace mine with the rotted mounting or a pair of cables in very good condition?? Anyone help please?? Thanks Russ
24. Bar opens at 11am and Bar closes at 7pm.......... for god sake...... Not like my parents golf club...... closes when they have run out of beer......
25. After........ I used brass wire wheel on a drill to remove the corrosion and the AutoGlym wheel silver to paint it..... The satin black was some Halfrauds VHT brush on paint...... I hate iphones........ always end up wrong way round..... lol
