  1. Steve That diagram if I am correct is for wiring them so they work anytime. Should either the feed from the switch or the feed to the relay not be a dip or headlight feed so they only work with the lights on. Cheers John
  2. LOL more than likely thats what it is....or maybee turbo booooooost...... Cheers John
  3. Sorry Steve mine's away as well. Fookin typical lol. Rather than have a seperate switch, that was my thinking. Cheers John
  4. Hi Steve What about a UK cluster with the fog light switch built into it. Cheers John
  5. LOL Aye sounds about right. Cheers John
  6. Brakelec or similar cleaner would do. As I said this stuff has a small nozzle like the straw on WD40 so it can be aimed at where the leak is. Cheers John
  7. Anytime bud not very often I can help people with the zed. Pics of the cleaning fluid can attached as well. Cheers John
  8. There are pipes on each side of the plenum into the outer rocker covers. I will take a pic of the can of cleaner I use as it has a nozzle to spray it accurately. Will post it on this thread. Cheers John
  9. I have a donor car that I am going to be using the manual gearbox to convert my other auto tt to manual. Do the manual boxes need the cooler/pump or not? Thats the only parts I have to remove from the donor but they are in some mess with rust etc. Cheers John
  10. I use my car at weekends and disconnect the battery every time. I dont like the car not being used while powered up in a locked garage attached to the house plus I dont want to be charging the battery every now and then. I have been doing this for a couple of years now. The battery I have is about a year old and hasnt caused me any problems. Cheers John
  11. Bodge is the name of the game
  12. Jimmy Its the hose you have off on your third pic I think it is. I have put yellow arrows on it below. I made a pipe from a bit of hose and that ended up being one of my oil leaks. There is a penny washer in it as well with a pinhole. The pipe goes from rocker cover to pcv valve on plenum. Best to get the proper pipe. Cheers John
  13. I dont envy you, I dont mind pulling the car to bits, well I have twice lol, but its quite time consuming. The cam seals come out easily, the outer rocker cover (outer are silicone sealed, inner ones are sealed with a seal) on the pass side has the dipstick bracket on it, I found that a pain to get started, other than that just mark everything with tipped before u remove it. Cheers John
  14. Here is a pic of the passenger outer cam seal with the plate removed. Cheers John
  15. I have a spray at work called amber clen I think. Its like brake lec, it evaporates when it dries. I use it to clean oil in gearbox plugs etc. Sounds like u need to try and clean the area around the rocker cover as best possible to see if u can see exactly where the oil is coming from rather than wash it with a power wash. I had oil running down the inside of the plate at the back of the timing belt, to feel the oil I had to take on of the intake hoses off, remove the plug from the CAS on the pass side of the engine and with difficulty put my hand up the back of the belt plate and viola it was wet with oil. Its ok saying there is oil everywhere but u need to try and determine where its coming from. Cheers John
  16. The compressor sits on the pass side under the engine so to speak. Its right below the pass side rocker cover. I could see oil dripping onto mine. Cheers John
  17. It could be running down onto the manifold and burning. When my cam seals were leaking on the n/s outer cam, the oil ran down the plate at the back of the timing belt and it also gathered along the rocker/top part of the head and dripped albeit slowly at the rear of the engine, more so when I ran the car for a while before I repaired it. Do u have oil dripping on the air cond compressor as well? Cheers John
  18. I have had a few oil leaks from mine, I have had the plenum off twice firstly replacing/resealing rocker covers , secondly replacing the pcv pipe as I thought it was the rocker covers. I have also done the cam seals. With regards your leak I have circled in yellow a part that looks like oil, its gonna drip down with gravity. I used to get a lot of smoke coming up at the battery as well but its a nightmare to see. Cheers John
  19. Well am guessing FMIC are more for looks then. I wasnt thinking about the cooling issues with restricted air. Cheers John
  20. Surely FMIC is an upgrade of sidemounts? Or am I wrong in that department. I would have thought it was better to go the whole hog and fit the FMIC and thats the air side sorted. Cheers John
  21. With regards the switches on the box, I have just removed the manual box from my donor car and have noticed the 2 switches on the rear top of the box have the wires cut. It does seem straight forward as Andy says to connest the switch to the ECU. I have attached a pic of the side of the box and am guessing the neutral switch is one of the 2 that are cut to the bone as in the pic. Cheers John
  22. Mikey the link that Jazzy posted there is a company in Glasgow I have delt with before. He is looking for £200 delivered for a FMIC Kit. Cant say quality of parts but some others have bought them on here from the replies on the other thread. I have bought bits n bobs from him and he is ok to deal with. I'd rather buy from the uk rather than hong kong, no offence meant but its better to deal locally rather than from across the other side of the world. Cheers John
  23. Mark Check out the local 'Thief's Gazette' aka Adtrader yellow paper type thing. There are loads of bits n bobs for cars fopr sale on there, always worth a look with regards the wheels. Sorry to hear of whats happened, pisses me off big style. Cheers John
