  2. Chris its a pc I bought for gaming for the likes of COD 4. The machine plays the game without any problem its just when I try and play it online that it spits oot the dummy. Cheers John
  3. FFS I was in that page Chris.......just expanded the link u sent...I must need glasses. Its a 32 bit system I have. Cheers for the replies guys. John
  4. Pete Have tried running as administrator, still the same, I have tried online help through the game publishers. They think its the driver for the graphics card. I prefer XP to be honest but its like everything new full of glitches. Firewall is off atm. Cheers John
  5. Chris I dont have system and maintenance....I only have 'System'....fookin pc's I enjoy messing about with them but when this shit happens its fookin typical. Cheers John
  6. Well atm I have a conflict on mine stopping me playing COD 4 Online....nearly 1k for a pc for gaming and it dont work. My son's playing it online without any problem with his XP system. I am just trying to update the graphics card drivers but they ask 32 bit or 64 bit....ffs why is nothing simple. Cheers John
  7. Can anyone tell me what the difference is with Windows Vista 32 bit and 64 bit? How would I know what I have on my pc? Cheers John Crisp
  8. Doen anyone know if the hubs are the same on a Z31 as I have the spare wheel listed on ebay from my breaker and had someone with a Z31 ask if it would fit? Cheers John
  9. Here's a pic of the connector from the wrong side of it off the car i'm breaking. In the 2nd pic although the car's stripped it shows the area where the connector sits marked with the yellow arrow. Cheers John
  10. Diagnostic socket should be above the driver's footwell up beside the panel that covers the fuses if I remember right (well it is in my uk car and also the earlier uk car I broke). I have Datascan on a disc somewhere but I need to find it and install it on the laptop and could maybee pop over next weekend (or if u pop over to mine, no problem either way). One small point is on my auto the throttle was a bit errattic at tickover, my throttle position sensor must have a dodgy connection as when the revs are higher than they should be I wiggle the wiring about and they drop to normal for a while. HTH Cheers John
  11. What happens when u drive it without your foot to the floor, does it change up and down gears as it could be the throttle position sensor causing errattic changes. Rather than foot to the floor try and drive it economically, it should change gear at lower revs, if u drive it with your foot to the floor then it will hold onto gears longer and if the throttle sensor is sending the wrong signals then the gearbox gearshifts will alter. I am not sure if it will show up in the error memory as the gearbox is only changing gear in accordance with the throttle signal. Just because that signal is faulty doesnt mean an error will be logged. Cheers John
  12. I have phoned before but it was a few years ago. Generally I e-mail them and they give a total posted price to at least get the parts to the uk, then usually UPS Contact you to pay the Import Tax. Cheers John
  13. For me its not about pointing you in the direction its about proper diagnostics with regards using proper tools to eliminate items relating to the fault. What happens if a guy uses a multi meter for example checking a starting fault, he surmises from the voltage drop that the battery is fooked goes and buys a battery, fits it to the car and its still the same. Too many times have I seen people throw parts at cars to fix problems at their expense rather than properly test the battery, its fine or its fooked either way its eliminated then move onto the next step. With regards this reply I aint lookin for a fight or to drill holes in people's posts and everyone has their own opinion but for me I like to check/eliminate components then move onto the next one. Cheers John
  14. Better to get a discharge tester on it, put a load on it, or even one of those battery tester things that give you codes etc rather than putting a multimeter on it. Cheers John
  15. Received mine today, was too big to go through letter box so its been with postman pat since Thursday, well impressed. Thanks again Cheers John
  16. Sounds like your battery isnt fully charged, can u get that checked first before disconnecting anything. Cheers John
  17. I used mine every day till I came to my senses and bought a Black handle key and got it cut. Cheers John
  18. It certainly is. All the best with it anyway. Cheers John
  19. Why not buy the parts first then its only labour, ie cam seals, front crank seal, timing belt etc. Cant really say how much it'll cost as garages vary. Cheers John
  20. Thats why its difficult. These cars are very difficult to diagnose and with limited access to see where its coming. So again difficult one there as I would do the work myself so its your shout really. Cheers John
  21. Well it depends who is doing it, if u know what needs done they cant charge for work that doesnt need done if u get my drift. I used to work in a main dealer albeit with commercials and I know what goes on. If its someone u know or trust maybee from here then thats different. Kinda difficult choice there i'd say. Cheers John
  22. Jimmy Mine wasnt as bad as yours but I still had a mess on the driveway. It looks like a front end strip down. The only way to prob tell is try and clean it as best u can then watch from underneath and see where it comes from. One small point on one of your pictures the oil looks red which would indicate possible a power steering oil leak or maybee its just the light on the oil, but maybee another vaenue to look at. Chin up mate its very fixable, I was lucky I did mine myself in the garage but some bits were a nightmare without the proper tools...ie removing the crank pulley. Cheers John
  23. I am in the motor trade and the company I work for buy it, its pretty good stuff. Cheers John
  24. Lol good call that'll do nicely Cheers John
  25. Steve Electrics are a pain in the onions I am into that shit every day with the buses....wiring diagrams, relays, lights, fault codes.....bahhhhhhhhh :headvswal Cheers John
