Missfire under boost,
Well, as I have just bought the plugs from DTA (I think) and as I was assured these were the ones to have when I mentioned the state of tune, cant remember the number but this forum agrees (generally) I will not be impressed if I have to change them at nearly £70.00. But, you may have a point as I was also told the gap was fine as standard, 1.1mm. And dropping it to .9 helped. Soooooo? Anyone else think it might need a cooler plug?

Missfire under boost,
Well when I have sorted it, and I hope I will, I will post the cure. My first step is to renew the coil pack connectors and as I am doing it the injector connectors too. I have checked the timing and it was slightly advanced, but not much and it made no difference.

Injector & Coil Pack conectors needed
Cheers for that, and yes good idea about the extras......

Injector & Coil Pack conectors needed
Thanks for that, any idea on shipping costs? And do they "adjust" the value for less import tax etc? I assume their coil connectors do come with wires as per the image? Because the words say you dont need to splice them.

As above, where is the best place to get these from? Is there another make/model of car that you can use? Thanks....

Missfire under boost,
With the MAF I tried an unknown one, but I think its unlikely that they are both faulty and giving the same symptoms... Also I have a new series three PTU fitted. So its not that (probably). I will go through it step by step I guess...

Missfire under boost,
Can the coil packs be checked somehow, and thanks Forge.

Missfire under boost,
OK, well I have used it again today and its 95% most of the time, dosnt like more than 1 bar of boost much either. Changed the MAF for an unknown one but the problem was exactly the same, not the best method but thats what I had. I still have the cats in, I dont really think thats the problem, but what do you guys think? The chip is writtten for "no cats". Next step is to remove the cats and see I think.??????

Missfire under boost,
No, manual, but thanks for the input. I have reduced the plug gap to 0.9mm and this has fixed it 99% of the time. I think I will have to go through every connection etc but its almost ok.

Missfire under boost,
Thanks Andy. Got one coming today I hope....Cheers

Missfire under boost,
Hi, done a search and found nothing to really help. New 555 injectors, Apexi, new plugs (standard gap????????) JD chip, running 0.9 bar via a boost controller I have just fitted. Even when I was running standard boost it would sometimes miss fire when I first punched it, genererally it then was fine after the first two or three full throttle runs. If I raise the revs gently it is often OK, it is in the bottom 2/3 of the rev range it gets upset. It is also not always there. Still running cats but have free flowing single exit pipe. Driven gently to medium speed its OK. Dont think its boost leak as it not always there. CAr also seems to use loads of fuel, and I am used to Z's, but I can see the gauge moving. Is it MAF?

Single Turbo conversion
There are some very sharp angles at the bottom of the turbo, are these staying on the final pipes? Because I feel the gasses wil not like them too much. Great effort though. Braver man than me.

gearbox oil
Very Clever....:-)

Single Turbo conversion
A good single can boost sooner and more than twins too. I have seen pics of one where they ran the pipes round the front to the turbo down by the near side front of the engine.

I agree with Dave C, you simply cant beat Heavy Shock, they also do light shock, and again as Dave says, it "Fixes" worn syncro, tried it in several cars, (not the Z yet but there is some in the garage waiting), all worked well with it. And if it "fixes" worn syncro it can hardly cause it to wear more. Opposite in fact. Hence me putting it in mine, to keep the box good.

Broken caliper bolt
Would be well worth buying a blow torch from a plumbers merchant or B&Q etc. Just a cheap one will add heat. Work on heating the bracket not the remainder of the bolt, this will encourage the bracket to expand away from the bolt.

airlock hell!!!!
Blowers on or off makes no difference at all. Might as well put the indicators on too.

Chrome Stern Wheels, finish is bubbling
Agreed, as they were bought from the USA they would have no juristiction, but thanks anyway. I just hope I can get them re-finished somehwhere. or I just spray them matt black, lol.

Chrome Stern Wheels, finish is bubbling
Big problem, they came form the USA. And the chrome is just peeling off, so its how well it has stuck, (or not) to the alloy that seems to be the problem. My son bought them for me before the design was available over here, thought it was a good idea at the time. Anyone have any ideas on re finishing them??

Chrome Stern Wheels, finish is bubbling
As above, the wheels have only been on the car for about 9 months, never seen salt etc, never kerbed etc etc etc. But, the chrome is coming off, its just peeling away! I have emailed Stern but so far they are ignoring me, which is just what I expected tbh. Anyway, two things, first its a warning to anyone who may be thinking of buying these wheels, DONT. Second, anyone have any experience of getting chrome wheels re finished? Any names? I dont want chrome again, just paint and polished rims. Cheers.

PCV Hoses Can they be cleaned if they are ok
I cleaned mine, they were not "cooked" silly and hard, cleaned easily. Mind you they were not blocked either.

How much CO2 does a TT pump out??
The REAL answer is easy. These tax hikes make no difference to the world, but they make a great big difference to the money the government has, I read somewhere the figure expected to be taken from cars will go up from 400+ billion to over 700 billion. Per annum There is your answer. All who voted Labour go and stand in the corner.
