SkylineOwners Presents - Tyne Tunnel Midnight Run 20/11/2010 (Closed Tunnel)
I don't believe this is turning into a conversation about top speeds in 2nd etc, there will be a 15 second gap between cars entering the tunnel from the start, drive respectably and there will be plenty of room for acceleration and blipping action. Trying to max your car in second is not going to do it any good and besides there will be no room for that with the 15 second gap, the idea of a tunnel run is to hear the amplified sound effect of the exhaust note which as vodkashots quite rightly pointed out sounds better from low revs, not when it's screaming it's tits off in the redline.

Yeah I've seen the pics of it, how unlucky was that? Whats all this about fat kids and cake shop doors? Hopefully that will be the last, I'll be keeping a close eye out for dodgy looking stray nails, glass etc or anything that might cause a puncture lol. It's a small world mate, I'm from Seaburn and yes you know me, I used to have a blue bomex swb tt manual slicktop about 5 year ago...... remember this... Ah memories. The bodyshop guy is a friend of the family so it's not going to be as expensive a job as it should be if you catch my drift.

Really looking forward to this, not had the zed in the Tyne Tunnel yet, I deafened everyone in the Dartford Tunnel a couple of weeks ago and was awesome, got loud pipes me :gunsmilie: Hope the weathers clear, I might brave the cold and drop the targa for total ear destruction yeah!

I'm back with a new Zed!
Yes bigh everything bar the doors, tailgate and roof areas will be repainted, I'll defo get some pics up when it's complete, he's opening up this Sunday for me to drop it in so he can get cracking with it at start of play monday morning which is nice of him. ...and on the tyre situation... The rear tyre I ordered never happened, the supplier made a mistake, and after trying many other tyre shops it turns out Avon are not producing that particular tyre (ZZ3) for another 5 weeks or so and I'd have to order one from them directly, so I fitted a pair of new Michelin Pilot Sports instead, and they'd better not burst lol.

I'm back with a new Zed!
Not sure of the name of it, it's a few hundred yards down the road from Jamies Tiles by Alexandra bridge. He's my dads mate, he used to run the bodyshop at Vardys on Newcastle road, then when that closed he got his own place, he's done bits and bobs for me over the years and always does a superb job. Got a puncture today on way home from work too, so having to shell out for another 275/35/18, ooch. It actually happened about 1/4 of a mile from home so I rolled home steady, but knacked the tyre wall in the process, the two rear tyres were pretty much new so I've just ordered the one of the same make rather than replace both, although I would have had I not been able to get the same one.

JNE Rolling Road day Sun 14th Nov @ Motorscope
Theres still plenty of Spaces available, it'll be nice to have more Zeds there. Anyone?
-
I'm back with a new Zed!
Yeah mate you'll likely see me out and about. It's booked into a bodyshop on the 1st Nov so it'll be in there for about a week. The previous owner (before Croeso) who had the Strosek fitted thought it would be a good idea to fill the panel gaps between the bumpers and the wings when the kit was all fitted, and naturally these have started to fracture. So I'm having the bumpers removed, filler cleaned out then bumpers refitted with a panel gap as they should have been in the first place then painting front and rear bumpers, front wings, rear quarters, skirts and possibly the bonnet as there are a few tiny stone chips dotted about. Also the rear panel is going to be satin black.

I'm back with a new Zed!
I've been to your house before for a set of Supra mkiv dampers last winter mate! Anyhoo thanks for all your positive comments and for such a nice welcome back, I feel all warm and fuzzy now lol. Chris took those photos and I do believe the ones with the boats are in Monaco, I'm sure he'll be along soon to either confirm that or correct me  Yes Chris I'm chuffed to bit's with it mate, was quite a long day last Saturday and many miles covered but well worth it, you live in a great little town and enjoyed my time down there. I was knackered as I was working late the night before but Chris kept the coffee flowing, top bloke! Also looking at your Euro Run pics has inspired me to do it myself, maybe spring / summer next year I might just take a week off and do it, those look like awesome driving roads. Now I've been moving pics around in photobucket and severed the links like a berk... ...so I've re added the deleted pics here..... Thats better!

I'm back with a new Zed!
Hi all, been a while but I'm back with a new Zed. Just bought this last weekend from croeso, some of you will probably know it.... ...but those who dont I'm sure you'll see it at future meets and events. These are some of croeso's pics as I've not took any myself yet. It's really good to be back behind the wheel of the Z32, especially this one. Must say I prefer this to the 350Z I had previously which was something of a let down after owning a 300ZX TT before that. What do you all think? Did I do good?

Z32 or R33 maf?
Hi, is there any visual differences between the mafs for a Z32 and an R33 GTS-t? Just I've got one here and I don't know which it is? The JECS serial badge on the side is orange and reads 22680 30P00 A36-000 N62 and the printed didgits are: 3330A Any ideas?

(NW) Sun 26th Aug: Monthly Meet, Hartside Top Cafe
Nick, Post meet time up on the Supra mkiv owners club NE meets section, you still havn't confirmed the meet time. Maybe if you keep that updated then you may well get more interest from there. I'm number 2 on the list 'Suprafly' I'm trying to rustle up some interest our end as I reckon it'll be a great day. I thought there'd be more interest as last Sunday we had a NE meet on the coast at Marsden with a good turnout in the pissing rain and bitterly cold wind, so you'd think if we can manage to withstand that then a nice run up into the hills would be a sure cert? I'm defo interested in going up to the Hartside cafe, so you can count one Supra in so far, just need a few more to come up as I don't fancy going it alone.

Big Brakes and ABS
The standard size front discsare 280mm, I upgraded mine to 296mm with calipers from a skyline, while its not the biggest upgrade it doesnt effect the abs, but braking is greatly improved. Also I noticed whilst bleeding the brakes off, as my mate was pumping the foot pedal, the movement of the servo was unreal due to the bulkhead flex, so I fitted a master cylinder stopper which has totally eliminated this and braking feels much firmer and more responsive. Hope this helps.
