  1. The idea is to try to capture the Tyne Tunnel Run this weekend from my point of view. Was just an idea to see if it'd work, I used the seatbelts to anchor two if the tripod legs to the back seat as you can see in the image and a cable tie to secure the leg at the front to the seatbelt arms on both the front seats, the whole thing seems very tight and secure free from movement, I'm hoping with the two tripod legs being on the back seats it'll take the shock and minimise vibration or shaking. I'm going to give it a test run Saturday morning to see if it'll work ok without any shaking etc, if it does shake or vibrate about then I won't bother. If it does work then I'll get the video up soon after for you guys who couldn't make it. Also if anyone thinks this is illegal for some reason, please say so lol.
  2. Thanks Chris I'll take a look and report back for aquanuke when I find it amongst all that lot lol. Ah yeah Chris mentioned your username Silverbullet, I now feel very comfortable about your work looking at the ferraris you've got knocking about there. Thanks.
  3. The rears are a positive offset but not sure on the actual figure, the rears are 10" wide.
  4. Mark, from the roundabout on the north exit of the tunnel can we get access on the 2nd exit or do we need to head up the A19 and around the long way to get to the car park? Also whats the best time to get to the carpark, I'm assuming 11:30?
  5. Dont go dropping your price, stick to it, you've said yourself that you're not desperate to sell, trust me there will be many people looking at your car wishing they could buy it now. My advice is this... just let the ad run out and expire, then readvertise in the new year at your original asking price. The fact that it's a n/a at 3.5k is totally irrelevant, the price is a reflection on the cars condition, if you go reducing the price people may think thats all it's worth and it's a rotter. Keep your price, a potential buyer may think he or she is getting a bargain if they knock you down a few hundred quid, and you'll still be taking 3k or more for a nice example of a swb slicktop n/a zed.
  6. Shell V Power, but if I get caught short then BP Ultimate suffices.
  7. Thanks guys, I knew you'd all like it  Yeah thanks for the polishing tips mate, I've got loads of autosol but I reckon that'll be way to harsh, so I think I'll get both the brasso and T-cut and try them then. I knew when I first saw the car that 'if' I bought it that rear panel would end up satin black, and yes it does enhance the chrome rings, looks just how I pictured it. Bet you didn't know the bonnet was actually a different colour to the rest of the car! Loving it mate. See it? You'll hear it first lol Yeah you'll defo see it there, looking forward to it, be sure to come say hi.
  8. Some people arn't even aware of club forums who own cars like these, they just want something nice looking thats also cheap, like a poor mans ferrari type of thing.
  9. So here we are, enjoy.... Ah clean again, for now.
  10. Mate, I had a slicktop manual tt about 4 year ago, I sold it and between selling that and getting the 300ZX I have now I had: Supra twin turbo Supra twin turbo 350Z GT Supra twin turbo Evo V GSR So you see I came crawling back after owning just what you fancy, not one of them cut it like the 300ZX mate. The Supra's every one were awesome, I really like them and unbelievable power to boot. The 350Z lacked power but handled really well. The Evo was loads of fun, spent a bit on it, remap etc, pops and bangs etc but just looked chavy and my wife hated it, so off it went. Then I found the zed I have now and I'm back in my comfort zone.
  11. Just borrow the money, tax the zed do the run and then cash in the tax disc at the post office and pay back whichever mug you borrowed it from. Eeeesaye!
  12. Get yourself along for the crack then if you're at a loose end. Well fellars, so far there are approx 10-12 spaces available so if anyone wishes to turn up on the day then feel free. 1st run at 9am. location: DL6 2XE
  13. This has been coming for years, it was originally supposed to be released with the PS3 when they first came out, how many years back is that, 4 or 5? So I wouldn't hold my breath for a xmas release, well not this year anyway.
  14. I'm with you on this one, I'd most definately go for the standard Nissan red.
  15. Christ man that must have taken ages, and with sore fingers. I've been there, done that and got the T-shirt with repairing cheap alloys. I'd have had them lathed, cheap and quick. All wheel refurbishers can do that. If you're not going to laquer them again (good idea not to!) then you need to apply wheel wax regularly to the bare alloy once a week over the winter, otherwise it'll grey. If they do grey then get some Autosol on there to restore that polished look.
  16. I sold my last Supra twin turbo to a guy from Nice in the south of france so it's not uncommon for a buyer from the continent to buy a car from the UK, but he was happy to use the phone and email as a method of contact. Just tell him you prefer to use email.
  17. Just a possibility, I know you said you have a hicas eliminator bar but the rear track rod ends should still be in place, the ball joints may be worn causing your rear wheels to turn a few degrees back and forth. Jack up the rear from the diff and check your rear wheels for play left and right, it will be apparent if the balljoints have worn.
  18. Yeah I thought of you when I saw it, now surely that will make you keep it? Soon as my copy came throught the door I made straight for the GT5 feature (because I thought the Top Gear test track was nothing more than vapourwear when I heard the rumour many months ago) and saw the zed straight away, nice touch from GT5 aspecially as it sits amongst some of the most sumptuous cars in existance, oh yes.
  19. Yeah he's only coming from Northamptonshire, he'll be able to get up here for the event, grab a burger and a coffee then be back home in time for cornflakes! Should be a clear run up and back down at those times of day, and it'll blow a tank and a half of juice! Go on, stretch the zeds legs, it'll do it the world of good.
  20. Alexandra Bridge Coachworks I've been taking cars there for years on end mate and I never knew the name of the bodyshop until Sunday morning when I dropped the car off, how ignorant is that? There it was in biggish letters right above the front door lol. It'll be ready to pick up on Friday morning, looking forward to it.
  21. Sorry to hear you selling up. If a potential buyer likes your car then he or she would buy it regardless of whether it was taxed or not, tax to me is nothing and that certainly wouldn't put me off buying a car as long as it had a long mot. The buyer would likely try to knock you down to cover the price of taxing it anyway, and then some. Anyhoo, I say loose the Lude and get your Zed back on the road missus!
  22. I'd leave that as is.
