  1. Thanks Bladebloke for confirming that it is possible to remove them with a stud extractor. The local car shop are getting me one in for tomorrow morning. I will heat them up with a torch and have a go and undoing them. If that doesnt work will try welding a nut on and undoing them. If not the manifold is coming off and the car wont be on the road again this week! Will post the results up after thowing some more spanners at the shed in anger!

  7. There is enough room to get an extractor / torch / drill in there but the cars not going very far with one exhaust! Can the studs be removed then? Managed to remove a stud from the thermostate housing by welding a nut on and then undoing it (thanks to Pete and his steady hand). Not sure if these will unscrew tho, anyone done it before on the three manifold studs?

  10. they need changing as the thread on one of the others is about dead as well They are held onto the turbo with 4 bolts right?
  11. Putting my exhausts back on after getting the prop straightened and sheared one of the three studs on the turbo downpipe! Not bloody happy, when does it ever end! :( I know this is common so how do I change it? I really hope the turbo doesnt have to come out etc or I am going to miss another summer with a broken z. :(
