  1. Pulled into Safeway carpark, strange grining boise as i stopped! Put in neutral, noise worse, put in drive and went around car park, noise went away. did shopping, came back - no drive. just whirring away? Its a 91 NA, with 90k. Anaway as panic started to setin I tried 2nd worked ok to get me going, put back into drive at about 20mph- nothing. had to get home so carried on. got up to about 35, put into drive, everything ok 3rd and 4th came into play no slip? but whed i had to slow down and pick up speed againbeloe 30, slipping or no drive and had to put it back to 2nd then ok again. So driving it like a manual at the moment! only transport i have got. Any clues, will have to get looked at soon, before it packs up completely.

  7. Ok. Dave, will keep that in mind, but would like a meet sooner rather than later. There are loads of Zeds down here, but probably not aware of us on the forum. I have even stuck notes on the cars!
  8. This is NOT good, no interest so far!! Dont believe we have to go to Bristol for a meet?
  9. Hi Shelton, Seen the white one around, also a silver one in Camborne. Cambelt job sounds good, your son could do a nice side line on Zeds then, need my lifters diong. ( £ 500 at Zetech ). Had my Cambelt etc. done about a year ago, took it up to Zed world, cost £320. Lets hope we get abit more interest this time.

Hi all. About time we had another meet down here. Had one a few months back, weather was not good and only three turned up! Well, weather still awful, but should be improving soon???!! seen a lot more zeds around recently so hope for a better turn out. So even if not based down here , nice for a W/E hol.? Anybody interested, jiust post up and lets arrange something. As Delia would say 'LETS BE HAVING YOU' :hyper: :D :p
  11. Yep! 55w + 30% is the way to go for fogs. As for H3c, I have now changed to H3's for these as the PIAA's only last a year and at £26 each a bit expensive. I have put in uprated H3 same as PIAA i.e. 85 w output, got on ebay from HK in same box as PIAA and they only cost 99p /pair + £6 postage but are just as good. You need to convert the connection and I used the domestic plug fuse holder method, where you just clamp the fuse holder to the bulb mounting. takes only a few minutes. I have also just ordered some even higher rated ones which are 85w with a 140w output, may not last as long but should improve vision, these cost about 6.99/pair
  12. Would this be same for a 91 NA, and what make are these and where can I get them and how much are they? Need them for next service in about a week. cheers
  13. are you checking with the engine running? as this how you should check the level. if not running it will look well full!
  14. Well 3 turned up on what was not the best of days, very, very windy, so we just had to retire to the pub! Anyway thanks to Julian and Shelton for coming. What happened to Tuberider!!!! so keen. I am sure there will be more interest when the weather turns warmer, so will try again later in the year. I have seen a few more Zeds down here, but cant belong to the site!
  15. I was thinking about 12.00, pubs open!
  16. Ok guys, Perranporth it is! Looks like just us three then?
  17. As posted by TWINPIPER remove the old jap spec bulb and you are left with a dangling connecting block into which you must connect your new bulb...get a 453 (halfords) bulb or the blue type/higher wattage equivilent...you will see they only come with a positive wire this pushes easily into the positive part of the dangling connector do this now... ok your 1/2 way there...so next get yourself an old household plug...remove the terminal bit in the plug...this the bit which the live wire screws into it also holds one end of the fuse holder not the pins which push into a socket in the wall...this little bit is going to become your new negative connector for your bulb...you should have a bit of a plug in your hands now with a bit for screwing in a wire and a bit which originally held one end of a fuse ...cut a short piece of wire (insulated obviously) strip both ends....screw one end into the terminal bit you got out of your old plug...then taking your new bulb push the fuse holder bit/legs directly onto the metal end of the bulb you may have to bend the legs of the fuse holder in a bit to get a tight fit take care not to touch the glass end of the bulb as your finger marks could blow your new bulb...then with the other end of the wire push into the headlamp connector with a flat blade screwdriver...tape over with insulating tape...put the bulb back in...job done
  18. After a couple of replacements with PIAA bulbs at £26 a time. I decided to use the H3 conversion using the fuse plug holder method rather than the soldering way, which works brilliantly. Now the next thing was to get brighter H3's, used the 30% brighter jobs, not too good, then I found some on Ebay. They are super white H3 5000k 55w draw but 100w output, same technology as PIAA, but for wait for it at 0.99p/ pair + £6 shipping. Arrived a couple of weeks ago ( took 10 days ) but they very good. Put one in and compared it to the PIAA on other side and I would said they are brighter. Has not blown yet! worth a try if you want a cheap upgrade, just look on ebay H3 bulbs!
  19. Does your cruise control work? if not then could be wiring prob, as on same corcuit as horn. This happened to me last year. Electrician traced it to broken wire just below relay box, corroded through!! spliced it, now aok.
  20. How about Perranporth - Main car park? good pub on the beach or as I suggested earlier Pandorra Inn. Both sort of Mid Cornwall'ish
  21. OK! car now behaving its self. So how about getting meet on the road down here somewhere! Need car park and refreshments! suggestions from anybody date and time, say Sunday13th Feb about mid day
  22. Ok twinpier, did this at w/e when bulb went and it works!!!, except i fitted spade connectors to wires to conn. block
  23. Andyduff, strikes again!! Thanks Andy, tried your suggestion about connection. pulled apart cleaned and put back, now AOK, well for the last 100 miles or so. Keeping fingers crossed. :D
  24. Still got this problem!!! Anybody got any ideas how to fix / sort out?
  25. Power Steering assistance now only works when stationary!! Have tried the moving of the steering wheel to get air out of system! I have a mph coversion on the speedo, could this be the problem and is it fixable or could it be something else???
