Was chatting a nice friend this weekend who bought a brand new Audi TT, we were both discussing about wich car has better performance; he was trying to convince me that I should sell my Z and go for a brand new TT but...I was trying to explain to him that my Z 1996 green cobalt and actually 80.000Kms is way much more car than a brand new TT, despite all the new tech that today´s cars brings wich I could care less, cuz when I go into the Z the last thing that pops up my mind is listening or focusing on gps or high performance music. This brings me a good discussion about would it be worth selling a stunning good condition Z for a audi tt? new?

I see the same old arseholes of this place continue to carry the batton with regards to looking down there nose at people who make spelling mistakes...the same Arseholes make mistakes on a regular basis but soon hit the "edit" button when called on it:rolleyes:

Funky, ever thought the fact that many Z owners are not Brit native or from other countries? I mean according to this yes you are right, but why not make a Note banner on the front board before jing stating: NOTE: YOU MUST BE FLUENT PERFECT ENGLISH SPEAK AND WRITE IN ORDER TO JOIN THE BOARD, AND MAKE NO MISTAKE IN A SINGLE WORD, SO THAT PROFESSOR JEFF AND FUNKY WILL NOT JUMP ON YOU.

Seriously I have been member here since 2007 and to be honest I feel so dissapointed, not a big drama but I think all the years I have been here I never had a single problem with anyone, been always respectful and nice to everyone and considered this board like a group of friends talking about our passion towards Z cars. But hey cool with me. Eventhough I really think this gives a very poor image of the board to people who are not native english.

Woah! Calm down there Jethro! I didn't jump on anyone!

Hahaha Jeff started it by correcting the Frenchman's English! I wonder how good his Portuguese is? hahaha

Simon is in the clear here

EDIT: Also the Audi TT is only for people who:

1. Cut hair

2. Sell Herbalife

3. Do Crossfit

Come at me brah!

On the actual subject. A z32 vs a new Audi TT. Well the Audi comes in a few performance outputs. The base model 220hp unit isn't particularly exciting, however if we're talking about the full fat version with nearly 300hp and a reported mid 4 second 0-60, a stock Z32 is going to come up short. But think how much it cost, both initially, in servicing and insurance. It's all personal preference and they're just not apples. I wouldn't want to use my z32 everyday, I'd take a new hatch over it for comfort and reliability all that sensible crap goes a long way. However at 5am on a summers morning and a deserted A road I'd be skipping straight past that base model Audi for the Z32.

And back on topic, thanks Steve..., yes - exactly that!

The Z32 is a great car, we all love them because we have one - and these cars have souls, whereas modern machinery might as well be white goods. But the Z32 was designed in the mid-1980s and born just before the 1990s began. Stands to reason, some 26 years later, that a modern sports car like the TT should be better. It's progress!!

I also agree that the "base" model TT is simply an appliance - but the TTS with 300bhp and 4wd is every bit the modern sports car with performance to match. Hell, forget the mid-4 seconds to 62mph, that one will crack 100mph in around 10. It would take a seriously modded Z32 to do that - although the Z32 will look better trying...

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Put it this way, if I'm doing domestic stuff I regularly walk straight past the zed and hop in the Skoda, it's easy going and comfy.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooo! No comparison in my eyes.... Audi's are dull. Granted the top end ones have impressive stats but they lack any form of soul or passion. The are just too "clinical" in my eyes.

You only have to look at what they did to the likes of Lamborghini.... Yes they're great cars but they lack the very thing that made them a Lamborghini.

How can you compare a Z to a Audi... Yes you can drive an Audi TT everyday but I would much rather look forward to taking the Z out at the weekend and experience the emotion you get when you turn that key. Plus... The Z looks soooo much prettier. No one even notices an Audi anymore.

Let's face it were all bias as we chose zeds, the point I was trying to make is, a 300zx is special it's the flaws the noise it's the attention they get, and my personal favourite the confusion when someone doesn't know what it it are what make them an occasion to drive, I'm sure the audi is a very good car, like the 370z was for me. But imo they just arent special. I like the phrase " built not bought " which applies to pretty much every zed,

Well said Ash....

I don't. Keep the standards of language at a good level. There's no excuse for laziness. I'm no Poet Laureate, nor will I ever been a Man-Booker prize winner, but I believe in good grammar and making an effort to the use of your own language - GCSE stuff! lol :)

...not to mention that almost every computer you use has its own spell checker.

Ha, so just for fun ... a witch would use a spell checker, a writer a spelling checker (unless you believe US/Microsoft that is!) :)

Tbh I actually find my spelling that bad on some words, which btw follows no specific pattern, spell check is useless. I get a no suggestions. Some of the words I can't spell are very basic. It's not a case of lazy or stupidity it's a case of utter blindness. I can sit there like a child to teach myself a word, only to forget it again next week. Some just will not retain. I also cannot read more than about three paragraphs without loosing track on what the first said. I need silence for this ideally. Reading a menu in a restaurant is incredibly difficult for this reason, so I often get my wife to pick for me. I can stare for a hour whilst everyone's chatting and shouting over each other, only to have not even read my options when it's time to choose. They say that reading is a very important part of learning to spell, this may explain the former issue. Most of the time I just read the words shape rather than its letters. So I miss my own typos like you wouldn't believe, just to compound the issue. Oh and btw I got English GCSE lit B and Lang C.

Would everything changed if we talked about an Audi R8 V10? Cuz personally I think yes the R8 is beautiful, but I still think the Z is much more agressive and nice looking.

Tbh I suffer pretty much the same thing. Spelling check makes it worse some times

The zed is the bset soprts car eevr mdae end of disssiucon

(apparently if the word contains the correct letters in the wrong order as long as the first and last are correct it's still readable lol) mgiht be blul sihte...

I do like the R8, but still wonder if it's too clinical, give me a diablo anyday, supercars should be silly imo

Seen that before. Funny enough I read that as if it's perfectly normal

When was the last time and Audi TT turned a head

Audi gets looks all the time. It is an awarded design and their interior wins the best, looking, fit and finish accolades constantly. Let's be honest... You guys are tough

They're ten a penny over here though. And they just look like a squashed VW Beetle.

The only time one turns heads in this country is if it's crashed! :thumbup1:
