I noticed that the grey plastic housing on my relatively new fog lamp lens were beginning to discolour inside the unit. This has not been caused by heat because there are no fog lamps installed and the side lights are LED emitting little heat, so I can only assume it’s been caused by UV.

Nevertheless I decided to spruce them up a little:

Come on spill the beans, what did you use?

Project 1547 - Out of the Blue

She's so fine, there's no tellin' where the money went - Simply irresistible.

That stuff wouldn't be used in aircraft maintenance by any chance?

Yes, I use it for a few different applications - the 2 main uses being; 1 to seal damage to composite panels such as damaged fairing that might let moisture in as a temporary repair. If a composite panel gets moisture inside, it freezes in the -55c during cruise and will cause further damage.

And 2, if I replace something that requires an aerodynamic seal to be applied but the 24 hour cure time affects operations (for example a #1 flight deck window change), I put the high speed tape over the top to allow the sealant to cure during operation.

And homers.
