  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

  • These parts turned up from Specialty-Z today. Last significant items for the "bolt on" build. I'll post some more pictures of all the stuff I have collected over the years (literally!) in the "Project

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

I picked up my Zed today from Automodz after having both turbos replaced and a few other little bits and pieces sorted out. Feels good again. Weather was shite which was a real shame but got a few hours behind the wheel which was good.

So that's that, back on the road for the first time since 2010, fingers crossed for some good weather now.

Been busy tonight working on the new interior.

The lighting is going very well indeed. Fitted up the doorcards with the lighting. Daytime it looks like red piping on the card and really sets off the lines of the cards.

Night time though, it looks great..

DSC_0103.jpgReally can't wait to get the rest finished and all the wiring finished to see what it looks like when it's done.

The tron look is coming...

I think it would be nice if the lines followed the dash all the way around from the door cards. Is that what you plan? Or just have some illumination here and there

Yes that's the plan Alic, I'll be running the lights round the dash and down the sides of the transmission tunnel too.. Might even put them in the rear quarters too

Fitted the rest of my series 2 interior. Very happy with the result.

It's turning into a clone of Joelyp's car! It'll soon have identical suspension to his and rear spoiler!

Just gotta change that steering wheel now Si.

Adapted the uk dummy side lights to fit indicators & side lights. Just need to tint the fogs now. Went for a drive as the sun is out.

Zed looks very nice mate, set of 99 spec lights would finish the rear off nicely

Thanks man,

I was going to add the 99 spec when Phutumsch fitted the rear EL panel, they did look good. But, I'm trying to keep her original, I just like the old school look I guess :-)

Got busy again today and finished door card number two..

Then decided to start stripping back the paint from the spare rocker covers to prep them for coating.

Officially sick of stripping paint now and can't get the last of it off cos there are areas unaccessible with the gear I have.. So I guess it'll be off to the shot blasters anyway!

I'm coming to the conclusion also that my workshop is becoming rather crowded by Z bits...

Must have a clean up very soon before I become trapped!

Well, got bored and decided to get back on the lighting project.. So now test fitted the neon wire round the dash and the tranny tunnel.. Haven't had a chance to test the look with them powered up, but I'm really... Really looking forward to seeing this all together and powered up.. I think it looks stunning and really compliments the interior.. DSC_0109.jpg

Thoughts and criticism welcomed..

That is all.

Crikey!

Ok....well, I'll give a bit of critique since it's been requested.

It is abundantly clear that you and I have extremely different tastes, but from where I'm sat, I think it does the opposite of 'complete the interior' and adds clutter and makes the interior look really awkward. I appreciate it's not finished, but it clashes badly and isn't easy on the eye, as do the bodycolour vent surrounds/door handle trim etc - this was something people did in the late 90s/early 2000s when people would paint bits of interior plastic in their Saxos and Novas the same as the exterior - 'colour coding' of interior parts is something that, IMO, should have remained in that era.

I'll hold back on comments on the steering wheel as it might turn ugly! (there's almost a pun there)

Postive note : the velour is nice! :)

Can I comment on your steering wheel then?
