  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Nothing at all from what I can ascertain. They will be going up for sale either today or tomorrow with pipes and bolts. If you want them ill photograph and give you first refusal. My mechanic said that they are in good unrusted condition as some tend to degrade near the top of the recirc...apparently!

Yes please, I’d be interested if you can send me the details. Mine are leaking across the rubber seal internally so I’m looking for a set to tide me over until I get a pair of HKS SSQVs.

Your right it’s rubbish. Oh I forget it can be of use in average speed camera zones. If you want to sit there doing nothing take the train!

That's the only time I ever use cruise.....

….I read somewhere once, that one should never use cruise when breaking the speed limit - which we all never do of course - so that's about it...

But I would not de-spec the car either.... I must admit, though, the Zed's cruise is cumbersome to use in comparison to our other cars. I mean, you have to switch it on, and then set the cruising speed - whereas on the others, you just pull one lever or hit one button. That's, like, twice the effort in a Zed.....

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Because it’s usless clutter in a sports car in a country where you cannot cruise for more than 10 yards. The only time I’ve ever been able to use cruise control is aboard or at 4am. It’s about as pointless as the BOVs you hate so much.
I've done a fair amount of motorway driving in my time, most of it on the M4 so it's pretty busy, and I rarely DON'T have the cruise on. I find it easy and practical to use it pretty much all the time... and I'm not even a lane hogger, so that's with changing lanes often too.

My 95 zed doesn't have it, don't want it driving that normally, but after an hour on long journeys I start to miss it!

I do about 50k miles a year for Work (not in a Z32 thank god!) and I’ve had it and rarely used it then. Each to their own.

In the same.

Today I finished off a "quick" reurb on my Ultalight wheels. Now I have the set of Volk SE37 for track use I decided to keep the Ultralights and put some normal road tyres on them.

This might make the car a bit more road friendly in wet weather.

I'm bored of the shiny wheels look that these have. In addition the stainless trims have some damage due to over aggressive/excessive trackday "incidents"

I have gone for a colour similar to the Volk SE37 wheels, but in a matt finish.

Im sure that wont be to any/many peoples taste but it will fit in with the overall look of the car IMHO.

It wasnt that quick a job either...:whistling:

flat down existing paint.

Satinise the stainless trims.

Degrease.

Prime in 2K grey primer.

Single silver base coat.

Bronze colour and added gold overtones.

Finish in 2K matt lacquer..

I agree, looks like a great colour. Very impressed with the finish to and has made me think that I might DIY refurb my winter storage wheels.

Thanks for the kind words guys.

Although the Ultralights are just run of the mill Taiwan tat they do have some redeeming features..

They are just about the perfect size at 8.5 and 9.5

The offset at +35 is OK. Just a 10mm spacer on the front to get them to +25.

They are very close to the weight of the Volk SE37.

They have proved themselves to be strong enough to withstand some off circuit kerb hopping!.

Used wheels fetch next to nothing money so no point in trying to sell them.

That’s the paradox with lots of these things, if your selling it’s worth nothing and if your buying you can’t find anything.

Last week I sold a fish tank that cost me £1000 for 1p. I’d had it for sale for weeks. Couldn’t even get £50!

Had my seat belts relocated yesterday to accommodate the series 2 interior I got from Ian Greenfield. Also fitted the chrome handles I got from ebay and the arm rests courtesy of Tom. Looks so much nicer, cleaner and more modern without the tweed.

I also changed the red foot well lighting I had to some warm white earlier in the week... Thanks Phutumsch for supplying the bulbs. I must be growing up!

I also got my passenger side front caliper refurbed with new seals and pistons. I did my drivers side one a few weeks back but hadn't had the time to do the other one so got it done whilst in the garage. We then fully flushed out all the previous brake fluid and replaced that too. Felt a lot better on the way home!

Very sumptuous!

I'm getting the darker shag pile mats also which I think they will match nicer

You don't owe me anything dude. Just get your car done and that's payment enough. :)
