  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

I have Bose enclosures on my car, looks like they fit smaller speakers than non? Maybe 4" speakers all around?

Can't comment on quality as never have a radio in the car (yet I have a touch screen fold out to go in it)

The early (i think) enclosures take larger drivers. I have 5.25 upfront and 6.5 in the rear.

These are the ones I have I think:03b602e70bd47d2e5ff290045549d363.jpg80edd8b73800500c1a33eacc3e8dc4c5.jpg

Yeah think those are the larger ones. You can fit a 6.5" driver in the rear and make a circular ring to mount 5.25" in the front.
It does give a pleasant lift to the sound stage so if/when I change this setup, I’ll likely do that. I am happy with the sound as it is though so it’ll have to wait further down the list!
Are you sure we cant persuade you Joel....
Do you have any of the Bose enclosures Joel? I found they made a huge difference in the mid range when fitted.

This is something I’ve been pondering upon for some time and have taken some professional advice on, which concluded that mine would not be improved with the Bose enclosures. I’d be keen to have a listen to yours though, how is the mid bass? Mine is certainly not lacking in the mid range, in fact the highs lows and mids have great detail, what I am lacking is in mid bass.

My assumption was that I could improve this with the Bose enclosures and I have a pair here from Andrew. However, the professionals advised that I would likely lose all round performance as my 10” JL does a great job of filling in higher up. They suggested that putting a larger speaker in that enclosure won’t perform as well as what I have for mid bass. I have separated the front and rear (of the speakers) waves as best I can but when the sub is switched off, there is very little punch in the mid bass.

I found mid bass quite good with my sub switched off. I have JL Audio C3525 components up front and C3650 in the rear and a 10" JL Audio sub in a custom box in the boot. I have 2x4 channel JL Audio amps one running the components and one bridged for the sub.

Its a great overall sound, nice clear highs and good mid bass and some nice lows when needed.

Went to Jim's again today and Gary was there collecting his pearl yellow Z. He's recently had it back from the bodyshop, the same one that did Joel's and mine and who's also doing Howard's and AndrewG's at some point.

It looks truly splendid, so thought it rude not to take a snap.

Finished the fueltank this weekend, Stripped the old coating with an air grinder, put a layer of primer and paint on the bottom side and a new coating on top.

Snadblasted the filler pipe and resprayed it.

Took the diff pomp and cooler of this weekend and some exhaust brackets.

Hi Dave.

Well it would make an interesting breakfast bar for the kids.

I actually think the big wing looks ok on SWB (especially in black) but personally I don’t think the look right on the LWB. Have you painted it yet, what will you go for now?

Glad you've changed your mind. Those giant pram handles are not a nice addition to any Z.

Hi, not going to paint it as I’ve got an original Nissan one on order I’m picking up next week. Mines only done 12,000 Miles and think it best to keep it pretty standard. Well except the massive 19s I’m slapping on next week. But I’m keeping the originals, so that doesn’t count ;) The spoiler is for sale if you fancy it.

Haha! I could just see myself walking into the garage to find Archie sitting on the back of my car eating his breakfast off it.
