  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

    Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

They need to be the non tamper type guys for the SRS steering wheel, hence hollow ends :yes:.

Bought these to change the front bumper on the Mrs' 1 series and they turned out to be the tamper proof ones. Arrived in 2 days and look decent quality.

Yes that's a good set, even though my initial Halfords link does not have a T55, I have just looked and i do have a tamper proof one with a 1/2" drive adaptor.

If i also remember correctly i have used my T55 bit on a Ford Fiesta many years back, so one is required in your arsenal.

Thanks for the link Si. I have just bought a set. Bergen is an OK mid range brand IMO. As Im now building an MG ZR they will come in useful:thumbup1:

So, it's bye bye stock clutch and flywheel; just ordered a new SZ clutch and lightened flywheel. Naturally Jimmer will be fitting it with a hardline, 350 clutch fork, chromoly pivot and a new OEM slave cylinder.

Hi All, here are a few pics Ansons Autos sent me from the rail straightening and underseal. So just the rear spoiler to do and then I can start spending some money on more fun stuff!

They already are in the garage/galaries section.

No the best end to my day. Have been removing trim etc in preparation for the respray and in removing the very last clip from the front windscreen trim this happened ......

Ah that's a pita. Happened to Will a couple weeks ago too doing the same thing. About a week wait for it they had. They were going to do it next day but of course they said they had stock but didn't.

Today I just felt like going for it, so 1.5 years since it's been parked up I prepped it and gave it the crank to consolidate all my work. Low and behold started after half a crank:

[video=youtube;oVV-neLVqQs]

Felt so relieved after the load of work that it's been through (manual conversion (with NA box so shimming and grinding the bellhousing), copious engine bay and wiring deletes including alarm wiring, and of course all my rewiring, relooming and replaced connectors in the engine bay), to be honest I'm surprised it started at all but good to know I've done it all right!

Before we get ahead of ourselves and put it back down to drive, I need to wait and fetch a powersteering bracket for the NA PS pump (I forgot to get it :( ) and I have to wait for my interior trim which is looking like its going to be summer at this point.

Reverse lights wired up and working, and deleted the last of the plugs in the bay: the auto plugs and the HICAs plugs.

Was that seriously 1.5 years ago? Well done, feels good to getting close I bet?
