  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Got off my fat arse this morning, got my new rear tyres spun on and swapped out the bonnet. You may remember my bonnet had an issue, well this was it.... The paint had lifted off.

So a black bonnet that could be used as per as a temporary measure was kindly donated by Znut, I popped up to his place one evening and collected it. This gave me the opportunity to try out the colour and required less prep for being re sprayed.

Honest opinions welcome, I think the nose panel needs to be black.

Paint it. Looks like you've had a bump and fitted an unpainted pattern bonnet! Ditch the snout too and it'll look spot in Steve!

Il give it some time, definatly want the nose panel black though, looks silly with as the lights are so dark.

I drove her a little bit, filled her to the brim with some lovely 99RON fuel from tesco and am just looking for somewhere to hand wash her tomorrow morning before I meet up with anyone in Norwich.....

Hopefully Spin and Ted if we can arrange a time before we leave to go home..... or she changes her mind about allowing me to do something Z related.... lol

Watching my Z disintegrate on my driveway!!!

It doesn't look bad mate, if youre keeping it you should probably do the nose panel and everything above the doors black too. Or paint it red. Its a tricky thing to do bit the big red 300 that went to france looked pretty mean with the black roof bits.

But it doesnt look bad as it is.

Thanks for that mate. I think the nose panel loses definition in black maybe it's just cos of the edit, in real life it might not...hrm

Lol. Time will tell it's easy enough to change it all. The bonet needs a respray regardless of its eventual colour, that was always the intention. The nose pannel also has a small hairline in it, so this can be done at the same time.

I've got a sheet of 3m gloss black vynal in the post as the carbon wrap on the roof bars has definatly become unfavourable to me, gloss will be muchhhhh neater. The door sails will also receive it. There should be enough left to do the nose panel so blacking that will be a negliabe side effect.

I've been trying to decide what front to have either the stillen front splitter or a 99spec front. I just like both so much, I even considered the greddy as it's a cheap way to look "similar" hiwever I feel it looks gash. The lack of a swagde line leaves it looking out of place. So 99 it is. This can be added along with a few minor paint issues like a ding in the wingbthatvhsoorn last winter when we were shunting the car around gazes unit, and a paint reaction on the spoiler. Yes it's more painting but in led to believe it's the getting the job started that counts. Ie it doesn't matter if it's a bonnet of a truck or off a corsa the price won't vary too much.

Correct, the Greddy and Wings West fronts are really unflattering and their shape and profiles don't match that of the car AT ALL. They don't even have a swage line and therefore overall make the whole bumper look like it was designed for anything BUT a 300zx. Plus, unless you fill the front of it with acres of rabbit-hutch mesh, all you can see are the unsightly components that sit behind it.

I really like the Stillen extensions and considered a GTZ lip for mine for a while.
