  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

  • These parts turned up from Specialty-Z today. Last significant items for the "bolt on" build. I'll post some more pictures of all the stuff I have collected over the years (literally!) in the "Project

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Removed the NSF brake caliper and in the process of trying to get the fourth and last caliper piston out (binding front brake - failed the MOT on Friday).

My mission continued today with my corrosion prevention control program! It went a little something like this:

- Remove remaining interior necessary to access sills and rear 1/4 skins

- A Boroscope inside of both sills front to back revealed that this 20 year old import (that I got fresh off the boat in '07) is still in remarkably mint condition!

- Lots of sound deadening applied to the rear 1/4 inner skin all round and various other areas

- Cavity wax lavishly applied throughout both sill sections, rear 1/4 wheel arch box sections and every nook and cranny using a series of fancy wands and nozzles.

No area of this Z32 is being left untreated and hopefully will happily see another 20+ years of rust free motoring.

Wash and waxed think I might take it for a run, before it rains.

Nice front end.......

.......but then I have to concur mate....:whistling:

Get your car in the COTM competition next month Gray, you have a very good chance my friend!!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

CheerZ Dave. I'm using dinitrol ML3125 solvent based cavity wax inside all the nooks and crannies! And dinitrol 4941 solvent based underbody wax underneath. Just about ready to drop it back down, I didn't get as much done as a planned this time round but will work my way across the car.

Aweosmely clean, that's job ive got to do, the stuff is under the sink ready, I just really struggle to find the enthusiasm.

The cavitys are alot more time consuming than I expected, looking inside shows so many hidden areas within the sill that are very difficult to access and getting the nozzle into each section and getting full coverage using the existing lightning holes is not quite possible with the 60mm wand. I have the plugs to blank any extra holes I have to 'reluctantly' make!

I most definitely need to see pics of this activity!

dinitrol is the best stuff you can buy, its what they use on aircraft to help prefent corrosion.

Im guessing your sills will be in alot better shape than mine !

Started on the TT I bought from Markfreeman, today. Apparently had an overheating issue and was stripped back ready, so after investigating and stripping down the bits, it turns out to be the thermostat housing.

Two hours later, a couple of short runs and 1 coilpack later it purrs like a cat, no water issues at all. And it turns out the "squeeling" noise he had was a knackered aircon unit, so good result today.

took the gearbox back out again as when I put the flywheel and clutch in it was for a n/a and the gearbox is a tt so now a pig of a job to line the spigot hole up and got my side skirts and infills today 1st job in the morning Halfords to get 2lt of kh2 paint and laq then gearbox to put on

sound system all check. sub box connected correctly and removed bass tube and external amp. sounds bumpin!! :punk:

Whilst attending to a slight bit of rust on the drivers side sill I removed my throttle cover and decided to paint the raised NISSAN part in Mazda classic red.

I took my Tokyo Auto strut brace off also and ran it under my wire wheel, primed it, then silver wheel sprayed and then lacquered. Also took its center Z badge off and sprayed/lacquered also in Mazda red. It looks very much like I'm now starting to bling up the bay :cool2:.

gearbox back in now and bolted down don't want to do that a 3rd time that's hard work

new license plate on. had to cut the back plates to fit, contemplating doing the same to the front.

don't like the square shape rear plates.

tein HR coilovers fitted all round. however, the centre bolt in front top mount doesnt sit central on either side.. is this a camber issue? they're both pointing inwards towards the engine on both sides... bit like the top mounts are cross eyed..

I havent fiddled with the height yet.. is this a camber issue? wheels look bolt upright mind and shes probably only gone down 15mm so far.

Took the viscous fan off, gave it a damn good wash with a brillo back to milky white, primed and then sexy silvered up, just need a few coats of lacquer tomorrow and then re fit :thumbup1:.

Why though 7 fins - a group of 3 and a group of 4, clearly not equally spaced :confused1:.
