  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Wired up my illuminated panel, fitted chrome door handles and resprayed the scuttle panels. Looks a good job considering I was a bit hungover.

Big thanks to Phutumsch for doing the panel. Great job!

Refitted the lower cambelt cover and crankshaft pulley, fitted three new drive belts and two water hoses (the short ones at the front of the engine).........more tomorrow night.

Big thanks to Phutumsch for doing the panel. Great job!

Looks well, there is a slight illumination inside the 300ZX as well as the outline, good pic that and thank you for the rep :tongue_smilie:.

I finished putting the Zed back together after fitting new timing and auxiliary belts etc, lo and behold - she started up on first try

Well pleased, as I've never replaced a timing belt on any car - far less a Zed - now for the MOT and then the Japspeed decats

Fit my radiator silicone hoses, kindly sent to me for free by Lee Dent who worked on my engine last summer, thanks chum I owe you.

Rebel Scum (Rich), who at the time was working for Lee fabricated the bracket you can just see at the very bottom, just cradles it nice :thumbup1:.

Finished all the repairs for themot and finallyfor the first time in 3months started her up.

Was sweet music to my ears to hear it raw again.

Stripped damaged N/S rear suspension assembly!

Finally managed to get those stubborn 19mm's on the lower wishbone undone (you'll understand why so hard when i post pics; to explain the wishbone was bent at nearly 90 degrees near the 19mm fixing bolts!) Big thanks to Mark Derby for the suggestion of 'cracker bar' as he called it or Breaker bar to the rest of us lol :-) it certainly did the trick & without it wouldn't have been possible. Now completely removed the whole assembly, arms, driveshaft @ the diff end, the lot :-) ready to put replacement assembly in place get her in my garage ready to completely strip & rebuild the entire suspension set to drift spec :-)

Progression has finally been made, one very happy boy :-)

Drove it a bit. And then a bit more......

.......Went out early to Sainsburys and then, as the weather was OK this morning, I decided to take a scenic "detour" afterwards. Hell, it seems I make a habit of that sometimes....

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

took out drivers seat, cut a huge hole in the sill and floor of the drivers side, and a couple smaller holes in the passengers side.

Hopefully get it ground to good metal during the week then start fabricating new metal to go in

I took out aloy radiator and began making templates to start fabricating an electric fan cowling from some fibreglass......

It was fun and makes me think back to my audio day's.....lol

I think a new system is going to be fitted as soon as I get through the N/A to TT conversion and sorting out the bodywork.....lol

I spent ages looking at the boxes and boxes of speakers, amps, wiring, power caps, head units, cd multi plays, monitor screens, etc.... sitting in my workshop ready to go into her when she is running again....lol

Oh well, start working on her again on tuesday.....lol
